Description of Work: First visited the store to see what options we had for gas fireplaces. The option we went with after their demonstration was the Fire Island with the decorative glass in different color options. We chose white and caribbean blue. We had the white in the center of plate that held the glass and on the outer edge th caribbean blue. There are no logs or mess to clean up. Just turn the knob on the bottom and you can increase the flame or have a low flame. I am allergic to dust and this is a great option for those who are allergic to the ashes and dust of the real logs and without the mess. My husband painted the inside with fire temp paint and the inside of the fireplace is now all black. Before it was white with stains from pervious log use. When we moved in our home we never used the fireplace. The price was excellent and the gentleman who showed up was on time waiting for me when I came home from work to let him in. He put down protective cloth on the floor everywhere he would have stepped nice and neat. We ordered too much caribbean blue glass and he brought it back to the store and we recieved credit on our bill. Everyone that we dealt with from start to end at Omalia's was wonderful and has great customer service. Also with Fire Island you can use it year round with the control of the knob at the bottom of the fireplace.

 + 0 moreThey were fantastic and very reasonable. They did not try to sell me on any more than what I asked.
Description of Work: We had them out first to do a standard cleaning and install new lava around the gas burner. They did a great job, so we called them back when we discovered a gas leak. They came right out, gave us a couple of options and performed the work in a professional manner.

He concluded that switching to gas would be too costly and then stated he would have someone get back to us with the cost of replacing the firebrick that was cracked. I asked that we also be given a quote on replacement firebox doors. I was never contacted by anyone from Omalia's.
Description of Work: Requested estimate on both repairing fireplace to be a working wood burning stove or changing to gas.

 + -1 moreWent to their showroom, which had a nice selection of a number of different styles of gas logs. We decided on a certain see thru gas log set. We went into the store on November 9, 2011, placed the order and were booked for a install on Dec 5, 2011. They ended up calling early, and asked if we could have the log set installed two weeks early, due to outside weather not allowing them to complete another job that was outside. It worked in our favor, two weeks early. They were on time, cleaned up after their installation, and were out within two hours.
Description of Work: Dennis and his coworker installed a dual sided/ See thru Texas Stack gas log. The fireplace was already run with natural gas, fireplace was already installed, so all they needed to do was install the gas log, and connect it to the gas line that was already run.

 + -1 moreWe had to wait a couple of weeks for the appointment, but that was understandable due to the time of year. We were happy that we did not have to pay for an estimate. Two employees came and found that the gas pipes had been disconnected at the main shutoff. They put in a new pipe and valve and then took us through how to work the fireplace. They were very helpful and completed the work promptly. We were satisfied with the work and the price was much lower than we expected.
Description of Work: We needed to have the gas fireplace hooked up at our home. We had been told by the previous owner that the gas had been shut off at some point due to a leak in the pipes.

He disassembled the unit, moved the millivolt unit to the correct location (manufacturing defect) and reassempled and tested everything. Positive experience.

 + 0 moreI called to have my old Weber gas grill repaired, even though Omalias does not sell Weber grills they agreed to at least attempt to repair and clean it for me... they came out within a week, the grill was cleaned, repaired and is working and looking like new in less than an hour.. The gentlemen who came out were on time, pleasant, and did not make a mess.... I couldn't be happier

 + -1 moreShopping for a replacement fireplace door at O'malia's Fireplace Shop in Carmel was a pleasure. First, an estimator came and measured the fireplace opening before we shopped. There's a nice variety in styles and prices. The sales personel are very friendly with no pressure to buy. We took sample finishes home and made our final selection on the second visit to the shop. The door had to be special ordered. It arrived on schedule and the installer was proficient, friendly and gave helpful advice. The installation was completed before Christmas, as requested. We have had many fires since and the precision installed doors and screen operate perfectly.
Description of Work: Fireplace door/screen was purchased and installed.

 + -1 moreThis season I had been smelling gas when the grill was being operated, plus it didn't seem to be cooking as quickly. O'Malias sent 2 guys to clean and inspect it. Besides doing a thorough cleaning, they found the leak and were able to stop it by just tightening some valves that had loosened up. Worth every penny!

 + -1 moreSalesman was very helpful and spent lots of time with us to discuss options, including special ordering a fireplace screen we liked. However, he told us that bi-fold doors were not available. We went to another store and were told that bi-fold doors are available, and quoted us a lower price. An email to the manufacturer confirmed that the second store was correct. Due to correct information and lower price, we purchased from the other store. However, we have no reason to say that we would not use O'Malia in the future, just be sure to shop around.

 + -1 morewe visited their excellent store in carmel to select a new gas fireplace to replace our old one. the salesman - mid to late 60's - showed us the models and convinced us to buy ventless, which wasn't known to us. we worked up a spec sheet and he faithfully promised their installer would contact us in one week to ten days. december came and went, and january too. two calls made after ten days reporting no contact from their installer. gave up. bought from another vendor, who came to our house within three days (to finalize the order, check the fireplace, etc.). apparently, o'malia's like the convenience of dealing only with their carmel customers, is all I can think. our phone is also used as place of business, and their is someone to answer it or take a msg any day, or all days. plus we have voice mail. no excuses O'malias!!
Description of Work: installation of a new gas fireplace, to replace existing gas fireplace. appx cost quoted $2500.

Description of Work: I called O'Malia's Fireplace Shop to have them install a new set of gas logs that I had purchased at a local hardware store. The lady I spoke to was very nice, and told me that they did not install gas logs that they didn't sell. As I thanked her for her time, she was kind enough to give me the name/number of a private installer. I was more than satisfied with the man who came to my home within about an hour and installed my new gas logs.

 + -1 moreWe needed a new iron mesh curtain for our fireplace and decided to get the doors replaced as well. We were a little surprised how much this sort of thing cost (we went to several places to get an idea on what we wanted and the price and they were all the same). We chose O'Malia's because we wanted to support a local businessin Hamilton County and, of course, they treated us well as customers. Kevin came out and measured our fireplace and helped us pick out what we wanted. We wanted a iron mesh door instead of a curtain, but it would not work with the size of our fireplace (Kevin tried really hard to get it to work, though!). We were told it would take about 6 weeks to get the door in, but it took more like 4. Then we scheduled to have the door installed. I was told it would only take about an hour and it was less than that! The installation person was right on time and very pleasant. He did a great job with making sure he didn't track anything on my carpet or ruin it in any way during the installation. I would recommend paying the extra fee (in this case it was $95 which is part of the total amount we spent) for the installation. It was well worth it!

He even went to his truck to find a battery for my remote control I was very impressed and I recommend this service very highly.
Description of Work: I had two fireplaces and neither were working. One I had turned off because I though gas was leaking; the other I could not get the pilot light lit or once it was lit it would not stay.

gas grill repair
 + -1 moreOur gas grill quit working. We ordered the parts via the Charbroil website, but we were unable to install the new ignitor ourselves. We called and spoke with one staff member and Mrs. O'Malia. We were told by both that it was $95 for a cleaning and repair. We scheduled a date, and we left the parts hidden underneath the doors of the grill so we were not required to be there for service. The repairman showed up on time and was very professional. It took him approximately two hours to clean the entire grill and replace the part. Our grill almost looks like new. We had certainly never cleaned it that well, and the cleaning included not only the inside (grates and all), but also the outside and burner. It was fantastic and works like new. We only had one issue, and it was quickly resolved. We received a bill for $120 ($95 plus a $25 travel charge). Neither the employee or Mrs. O'Malia had mentioned the travel charge. We called and asked about it, and the woman said to just pay the $95 since it was an error on their part not to tell us about it. We appreciated that gesture and will certainly be prepared for the travel charge next time we need grill work. We highly recommend this company! FANTASTIC!!!

 + -1 moreEverything went well. They were quick, honest, and broke down the cost for everything. There was no charge for any of this. They were honest since they informed us if we didn't do the firepit that the line that was already there was safe and did not need to be changed. They were professional and courteous as well.
Description of Work: We had the line looked at that goes from our fireplace to our crawlspace. We wanted to extend this to make a firepit. They gave us an estimate for this work.
