I was leery of Best Buy because years ago it was pretty much the poster boy for bad service in the Indpls area. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The salespeople were helpful and I have no complaints about the delivery people, or the guy who ''installed'' my set. (I didn't really need installation as much as I needed someone to put together the stand, then lift the set onto it). The only thing I do not like is the fact that delivery and installation are two separate processes done by two separate people, requiring you to be available two separate days instead of being able to have everything done at once.
Description of Work: Purchase, delivery and installation of a TV and TV stand.

MY LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD DIGITAL CAMERA STOPPED WORKING THREE WEEKS AFTER I HAD MY FIRST BABY. IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO BEST BUY. THE BAD NEWS WAS THAT THEY HAD TO SEND IT OUT TO GET IT FIXED. THE WORST NEWS WAS THAT IT TOOK ALMOST 6 WEEKS TO FIGURE OUT THAT IT WOULD COST MORE TO FIX THE CAMERA THAN TO BUY A NEW ONE. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT NO ONE CALLED ME TO TELL ME THE NEWS. I HAD TO CALL EACH WEEK TO GET A STATUS. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT BEST BUY NOT ONLY GAVE ME A BRAND NEW CAMERA, THEY GAVE ME AN UPGRADE. I GOT A VERY, VERY GOOD CAMERA OUT OF THE DEAL AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO ASK FOR IT. THE CAMERA EXCHANGE WAS VERY EASY AND TOOK MUCH LESS TIME THAN I THOUGHT. EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL. OVERALL, I'M HAPPY THAT I FINALLY HAVE A CAMERA FOR MY NEWBORN AND THAT BEST BUY DIDN'T GIVE ME TOO MANY PROBLEMS.

THE TV DID NOT COME WITH THE REMOTE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO FIND THE REMOTE. THEY WROTE ON THE ORDER THAT THE REMOTE WOULD COME WITHIN TWO WEEKS. IT HAS NOW BEEN 3 WEEKS AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE REMOTE. I CALLED THE MANAGER, GREG, THIS MORNING AND HE DID NOT SEEM CONCERNED THAT I DID NOT HAVE THE REMOTE YET. HE WAS QUITE UNPLEASANT ABOUT THE SITUATION ON THE PHONE AND THAT I "WOULD GET IT WHEN I WOULD GET IT." I ASKED HIM TO CALL AND SEE WHEN IT WOULD BE SHIPPED AND HE REFUSED.

I PURCHASED WIRELESS NETWORK EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE, AND INSTALLATION FROM BEST BUY. THEIR ''GEEK SQUAD'' CAME TO MY HOME TO INSTALL THE EQUIPMENT AND RELATED SOFTWARE. IT DID NOT WORK PROPERLY AND ALL OF MY COMPUTERS WERE UNABLE TO ACCESS THE INTERNET. I CALLED THEIR ''GEEK SQUAD'' TOLL FREE NUMBER MANY TIMES DURING A TWO WEEK PERIOD. EACH TIME I WAS PUT ON HOLD. AFTER HOLDING FOR 30 MINUTES, I WOULD HANG UP IN FRUSTRATION. HOWEVER, ONCE I HELD FOR 1.5 HOURS, ANOTHER 2 HOURS. BOTH TIMES I WAS PROMISED A CALL FROM A TECHNICIAN TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME BACK TO MY HOME AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM. NO ONE EVER CALLED. FINALLY, I CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY (CUSTOM DIGITAL). CUSTOM DIGITAL CAME TO MY HOME THE NEXT DAY AND FIXED THE PROBLEM.

STORE SALESMAN STATED THAT THEY WOULD UNHOOK THE OLD APPLIANCES, AND HOOKUP THE NEW APPLIANCES. THE DELIVERY COMPANY STATED THAT I HAD TO UNHOOK EVERYTHING AND GET IT OUTSIDE. CALLS TO THE STORE DID NOT RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. THE DELIVERY COMPANY REFUSED TO TOUCH THE GAS HOOKUP. IN FACT, THEY NEVER DELIVERED ALL OF THE PARTS PURCHASED FOR THE GAS HOOKUP. THE DISHWASHER WAS DELIVERED MISSING PARTS REQUIRED FOR ELECTRICAL HOOKUP. THE REFRIGERATOR ICE MAKER WAS POORLY INSTALLED BY THE DELIVERY CONTRACTOR, AND LEAKED. DELIVERY CONTRACTOR COULD HOOKUP THE WATER LINE AS PROMISED BY THE STORE SALESMAN. A DECORATIVE PLUG WAS MISSING ON THE FRONT OF THE DOOR (USED TO SWITCH THE DOOR HANDLE FROM RIGHT TO LEFT OPENING). AFTER REPEATED CALLS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE, AND PROBLEMS WERE NOT CORRECTED QUICKLY. BASICALLY IF YOU PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BEST BUYS, BE READY FOR THEM TO DRIVE BY, PUSH IT OFF THE TRUCK AND LEAVE IT ON YOUR FRONT LAWN.
