Terrible. The guy helping me was more worried about getting his lunch.
Description of Work: Bought a camera from Best Buy in December. I had an error that stated change battery pack on 2/4/11. I went in and was drilled as to if I left the battery on the charger. I said no, I have only charge it once. The person taking care of me said lets change out the battery pack. That fixed it. Because I didnt buy the 8.00 protection plan, they said they could not help me. They told me to call Cannon. I said really!!! This is a one month old camera. They could care less.

Do NOT buy appliances from this store!! I received a call the day before delivery from their subcontractor to let me know when they would be arriving the following day. In the course of the call, the gentleman told me that my refrigerator was on back order. I was very concerned as I had already sold my old one and I had not been told this by anyone at Best Buy. I immediately called the young woman in the Appliance section in the store. She made some calls to the warehouse, etc and called back to tell me she didn't know why he would tell me that, that my refrigerator would be delivered with the rest of my appliances the following day. I told her that if there was a delay, I would like to reschedule the delivery of the other appliances, so that I wouldn't have to take time off of work more than one day. She said she would call if she heard anything different. I never heard from her. Of course, the next day I take off of work to meet the delivery - no refrigerator. I call the store and talk to the same young woman who now tells me that it will be the following week. I inform her that I think it's unacceptable to find out about a backorder the day before, then be told that there wasn't a problem, and still not have a refrigerator. I asked her what they could do to get me a refridgerator this weeekend. She said it would have to be something in stock. I asked her to look at what they had and get back to me. No return call. I then called the store and asked to speak to the manager on duty. I was told he was busy and would have to return my call. No return call, Now I guess I will have to take time on my day off to go to the Best Buy store and track down a manager. Absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable lack of customer service. A note on the installation - they apparently think it is fine to call the day you are scheduled to give you a block of time when they will arrive. very inconvenient.
Description of Work: I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen on 2/5/10 at the Castleton, IN store. Best Buy was to deliver the appliances on 3/5/10 and installation was scheduled for 3/6/10.

Geek Squad came out. Paid $100 for 5 minutes. Virus pretty bad. Tech told my wife that they would at least transfer my old data on to new one to compensate. They would not deal with me. Bought new Gateway had best buy load antivirus protection for me, additional $129. Got home and found nothing on system for antivirus. Had to disconnect and take back in and load up the antivirus. Really confused because that is what I paid them to do. The man at the store was very considerate but had no explanation. They wanted an additional $99 to transfer data from old to new. Took Geek squad 5 days to come out initially.

We discovered within ten days after installation that the water line they sold us and installed had broken and was spraying water all over our wall, hardwood floor and dripping into the crawlspace below. As pleasant and knowledgeable as the sales staff had been, the customer service staff was horrendous. I spent 2 hours on the phone, talking to six different people and the first one who actually tried to help put me on hold for 40 minutes. They cared only about blaming the installers, who apparently are independent contractors, telling us Best Buy was not responsible. We are still awaiting resolution while they point fingers. The Best Buy worker who came out to re-hook the water line never even looked at it, saying it was the installer's problem to solve.

Laptop was running really slow, needed more memory and was tending to overheat. The technician was immediately available. He upgraded and repaired the computer in less than one hour. He also cleaned up some programs, etc that were causing slow response. Good job.

We have a small laundry room and were looking for a stackable washer and dryer set. Upon deciding on a set, another store's clearance center had a better price than Best Buy, but they matched it. And, as a bonus, the installation was free and they actually stacked the washer and dryer, which the other store would not do. The salesperson was very helpful and courteous. The installation was quick and professional. The installers were happy to answer questions and even switched the doors on the units to open the direction we wanted. The overall experience was very good.

We bought a DVD recorder/player that developed problems tuning in the higher channels just over 30 days after we began using it. We contacted the manufacturer, loaded the updated disc they sent us, and still had the same problem. In great frustration, we took it back to Best Buy and they returned it to the manufacturer at no cost to us. When it came back and still had the same problem, the Best Buy manager offered to exchange it for whatever other brand we wanted and removed other units of the bad model from the shelf so no one else would have the experience we'd had. We chose another brand recorder, paid the price difference, and have been very happy with it. We have bought thousands of dollars at Best Buy over the years and have almost always been pleased with their knowledge and willingness to work with us to get the product we want at the best price. They always honor any competitor's lower price, including internet, if we bring them printed evidence of the company, model and price.

It was okay, the one thing they are good about is if the equipment goes bad they replace it. The mother board went dead in two weeks, the next day I took it in and they replaced it with a higher grade board because they did not have the same model. The computer has been fine since.

This man seemed very distracted and was very "cocky" with me, like he thought I didn't know what I was talking about. He was promising there would be no problem and that they would be able to do the job because they do it all the time; but then they did it totally wrong and were not apologetic. Evidently he did not write down the C drive on the paperwork like he should have and tried to blame me that it wasn't written down, but he wrote notes down from what I told him. I guess he didn't feel it was necessary to write down the correct drive. I think this man manages the department and it is way over his head. When I originally spoke to him, he said the Geek Squad could come out to my house for $99 to retrieve the data. When I called to make an appointment with them, I was told he was wrong, that it was $199 if they had to come out to the house. From start to finish, he was arrogant and distracted and WRONG! He acted like it was a bother to take down the information from me.
Description of Work: The C drive on my computer broke down and Gregory Sparks of the Geek Squad said they could retrieve the information off the C drive (the data) for $99 and I would have to pay in advance. So I took the CPU into the store and Mr. Sparks supposedly wrote down everything I wanted extracted from the C drive. He said it would all be on the D drive also and I told him no, specifically, that the D drive did not back up my C drive and that I just copied old, large files there for later reference. That's how my computer was set up. It's an older computer and that we installed the D drive ourselves. When I went to pick up the computer and the DVDs that they were supposed to put the information on from the C drive, they had instead taken data off the D drive. He said they weren't able to get anything off the C drive, that it was totally corrupted. I asked why they didn't call me to tell me that and why they wasted time taking things off the D drive. No explanation or refund.

I was amazed that there was no re-stocking fee or delivery charge. They were very pleasant about the whole situation.
Description of Work: Delivered a washer and dryer I bought and I wasn't satisfied with. So I went to the store and upgraded. When the 2nd dryer came, it was too big (who knew Whirlpool dryers were 29 inches wide instead of the standard 27 inches?). They came and picked it up and I picked out another dryer (cheaper than the last) and they delivered it, all with no additional service charges or fees.

Lori explained everything to us and showed us how to use them. She was excellent. She told us if we found the same model for a lower price at competitor within 30, they would lower the price. It was supposed to be only 2 weeks, but the manager was very helpful and understanding. They took care of the mistake and honored it.

We had some issues with the home theater when the delivery crew tried to install the Home Theater to the TV. The management team was very helpful and they took care of repairing the Home Theater at a coast of 25$ since we had not taken extended warranty for the Home Theater.

Sales rep, Greg Sparks, was awesome. Not at all pushy and was very knowledgeable. I also came in with a follow up question and Vince was helpful as well. The sales transaction was great, however delivery was horrible. They delivered the wrong color on part of it - - the delivery guys were fine, but had to reorder and didn't follow up. They forgot to put thru the reorder which delayed new delivery, then had NO flexibility in re-delivery time. No apology from delivery scheduler for mistake or inability to be flexible. HOWEVER, when I went back to store to advise Greg of situation, he saved Best Buy's reputation in my mind by offering to be there on his own time for the delivery. (I won't have him do that, but the offer sure goes above and beyond). He handled situation well - didn't put down his company or make excuses, but attempted to resolve situation to keep customer happy.

I CALLED ON THE 27TH AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE AT LEAST A WEEK OR TWO BEFORE IT WOULD BE READY. I TOLD THEM I ONLY HAD A WORKING COMPUTER FOR TWO MONTHS, AND THEY SAID IF THE ISSUE HAD HAPPENED WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS THEY WOULD HAVE REPLACED IT, BUT NOW IT HAS TO BE REPAIRED. THEY PROMISED IT WOULD BE DONE ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 3RD. I CALLED ON THE 3RD AND HAD AN EXTENSIVE CONVERSATION WITH DOUG (THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN) OVER THE PHONE, AND HE SAID HE HAD SHIPPED IT TO THE SERVICE CENTER IN ST. LOUIS FOR REPAIR. HE HAD TALKED TO THEM, AND THAT THE SERVICE CENTER PROMISED THE STORE THEY WOULD HAVE IT WITHIN A FEW DAYS. ONCE THEY RECEIVED THE COMPUTER BACK FROM THE SERVICE CENTER, BEST BUY WAS TO TEST THE COMPUTER TO MAKE SURE IT WAS WORKING CORRECTLY AND I'D HAVE IT BACK BY TODAY, JANUARY 10TH. I CALLED TODAY AND THEY GAVE ME THE EXACT SAME EXCUSE, THAT THE SERVICE CENTER HAD TO ORDER A MOTHERBOARD AND THE EARLIEST IT WOULD BE READY IS NEXT WEEK. IT'S THE SAME STORY I GOT ON JAN 3RD.
Description of Work: PURCHASED NOTEBOOK COMPUTER W/EXTENDED WARRANTY ON 10/15/05, AND IT DIED ON 12/09/05. I TOOK IT IN ON 12/10/05 AND THEY PROMISED IT WOULD BE DONE 12/18/05. I WENT IN ON THE 18TH AND THEY SAID NO, THAT THEY STILL HAVE TO GET A PART AND THEY'D GET IT TO ME RIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS.
