Chris & Shari Dykes, Realtors

I called both Chris and Shari Dykes of Carpenter Realtors, Broad Ripple office, from one of their signs at 10:00 AM on a Friday morning to ask to see a listing of theirs at noon. We had never crossed paths before this day. Both Chris and Shari returned my call immediately and Shari graciously accommodated showing the listing to us on such short notice. While we did not offer on the particular house listed, we felt an instant trust in Shari and wanted to continue the relationship of realtor/buyer. I had called other realtors off of their signs and none of them were as professional and responsive as Chris and Shari were. We were extremely serious about buying a home. While Shari was at the first showing and did research for us for other potential properties, her husband Chris was involved as well and ended up showing us the next house of choice. It was an instant love affair for the house and it had only been on the market for 8 days. We made a solid offer right away and within a day, we were ecstatic buyers with an accepted offer in hand. Chris negotiated on our behalf and the entire transaction could not have been any better. I love the idea of working with a husband/wife team, especially this one. They are extremely knowledgable, professional, accommodating and compassionate about all aspects of purchasing a home. We had a true connection from the beginning and believe that our business relationship has turned into a friendship. We cannot imagine entrusting our real estate needs to anyone else.

Chris came out to our home for 2 meetings and Shari was there for the second meeting. They were everything you could dream of in a Realtor. Chris was so knowledgeable, honest, professional, and straight to the point. Chris had such an impressive presentation and we knew that they would work very hard to sell our home. We had a very hard decision deciding between the Dykes and another agent and the deciding factor was that the other agent was from a family referral. When I informed Chris of our decision he was very gracious and kind in wishing us the best of luck. If our current home doesn't sell while we are listed with another agent we would definitely re-list with Chris and Shari.

Overall Chris and Shari Dykes tried to be helpful, but it was more of a client driven process. If you are looking to do most of the leg work yourself and have the real estate agents there to get you in the houses then they are very good at that, however if you are looking for more guidance they struggled in that area. They only showed us houses. We switched to a different real estate agent for the buying process.

Chris and Shari were a pleasure to work with. They were always available for comments and questions. They were responsive to our concerns. They walked us through this process start to finish. After we moved away, they watched over our property, responded quickly to problems. Chris was quick to help with anything I needed. For example my moving truck arrived after a massive ice storm and I was unable to obtain any help locally. Chris helped me an entire day - the two of us working with ice and snow until the movers could get into the house. Chris and Shari and extremely honest and trustworthy. We will always be very grateful to them for their help in selling our home.

We moved from Orlando, FL to Indianapolis, IN in a two week timeframe. There was no time to come out and search for an apartment. I contacted Angie's List and asked for some Indianapolis realtors, hoping I could find one who dealt in rentals.I sent Chris an email and he called back almost immediately. While they didn't handle apartments, which is what we were looking for, he was willing to do some research for us. I wanted good schools, and not too far from my husband's new job. Chris sent us a list of apartments to consider, told us the areas we would probably like the best, and took the time to speak with both of us on the phone about the area. We are very happy where we are, but when we are ready to buy, you can bet we will call Chris!

We worked with Chris & Shari for approximately 3 years on and off looking for a new home. We explored different areas in the Indianapolis area and they were very patient and helpful in working with us to find neighborhoods that would meet our expectations. After all the time we spent together, they had a good idea of the type of home and lot we wanted and they worked to make sure we didn't have to settle on less than we wanted. They were proactive and diligent in locating potential homes. Once we found the home for us, we negotiated terms and within a week had the home we had been looking for. Chris & Shari then listed our old home and helped us work through all the things we needed to do to move the house quickly (Shari is a great help with staging!). They held open houses and were aggressively marketing the listing to get a variety of showings. Overall, we were very pleased with their efficiency and professionalism. They both bring unique talents to the table and you can tell they love what they do.

First, I had a meeting with Chris to determine my price range and location preferences. I began to receive email notices of homes that might be of interest. At my request, Chris showed me several possibilities and never tried to push anything along. Once I decided on a condo, Chris worked with me to obtain financing. This was quite a process and Chris was a very patient trouble-shooter on my behalf. He explained everything and reminded me to file my homestead credit. I felt completely confident from the beginning to the closing that Chris was looking out for me. I am happy with the result and would definitely look forward to working with him and Shari again.

It could not have gone any better. We had many opportunities where it may have fallen through, but Chris's real estate knowledge, dilligence and reassurance helped us to feel confident in what we were doing. Chris made us feel like it was not a job to him to help us buy a home, but rather, a joy to help us as a family find a place to call our own.

We worked primarily with Chris Dykes during the process. Chris was very patient with us as we worked to sell our house in Pennsylvania. Chris had an excellent understanding of the real estate market, and specifically the market for the type of house of which we were looking. He was also very knowledgeable about construction types, materials, and the potential problems associated with materials and builders. Once we decided on a home to purchase, Chris helped to facilitate the inspection and closing processes. Everything went very smoothly, thanks in large part to his willingness to help us work through the process.

Chris did an amazing job of helping us sell our home in Noblesville, IN in order to make a big move out of state in December 2004. After working unsucessfully with another realtor prior to Chris, he came in to help us find just the right asking price and, that coupled with ann excellent job of marketing, caused our home to sell within 1 month! Chris' professionalism and attention to detail was fantastic!

From start to finish it was very nice working with Chris. He was personable and extremely helpful with the purchase of a new model home. I couldn't have done it so smoothly without him.

They handled every detail with care and most professionally. From the selling of our larger home to the purchasing of a smaller home, they were there every step of the way, helping to make our end of the transaction as easy as possible.

Chris & Shari did a great job filtering out homes for us to look at, and were very patient showing us several homes. When we finally found a great fixer-upper on the north side, Chris was very helpful providing advice and referring contractors to help us get our home up to par. They also patiently guided us through a very complicated and drawn-out closing (the home was bank-owned). We have already referred friends to them, and will definitely turn to them the next time we need a real estate agent.

Everything was great. Chris and Shari are both very pleasant people, and they are forthright and thorough in their business dealings. It was a pleasure to have worked with them. I would recommend them to anyone.

It was excellent! Chris and Shari were very accomodating. We only had two days to look for houses, and they showed us thirty within that time span, one of which we visited three times. Ultimately, we were able to find a house.

If I had 100 homes to work with I would hand every one of them to these two... they are wonderful.
