Virgil from Appel was able to come the same day I called. He was prompt, friendly, helpful, and professional. He found the problem very quickly, a cut in the pressure tube. He returned to his office to pick up the replacement tube, returned within 20 minutes, and had the tube replaced and the furnace working properly within 5 minutes. He showed me the old tube on the furnace and explained its purpose, which was very nice. I, of course, didn't remember everything he said, but it did help me understand how a cut in that little tube could cause the problem we were seeing.

We have used them for years. They call head. I was very happy with them. They always show up on time, reasonably prices and I have never had any major issues with them.

Everything went very well. Furnace room pipes and vents were moved to be more "out of way" and everything looked much better than what I had before. A/C is a huge improvement since the old one was not doing well before it finally broke down. Workers came on time and finished a little earlier than I thought they would. I've been using Appel for about 4 years now and I could not be more pleased. They did not try to "up sell" on any items and explained why some things were just not worth the money even though they could do them for me.

I've never had any trouble. They always send the same gentlemen and I have a good relationship with him. He asks me questions. I ask him questions. I asked him about the digital thermostat and he was more than willing. When we had it replaced the gentlemen who came to our house was very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone.

On pricing I don't know it, I don't compare.

Rob came and checked the system and told us we had a leak. He gave us an estimate to fix what was wrong, but also warned that the AC was 17 years old, and that fixing what was broken could cost more in the long run because if something else broke, it would not be compatible with the new parts. He offered to top off the freon and we could see how long it lasted. He did not pressure us and told us all our options. We decided to buy a new one. Nathan came and gave us an estimate for a new system. He spent 20 minutes trying to give the old AC a jump start to help tide us over in the meantime. They were both professional and did not pressure us to do anything. We really appreciated the no-pressure professional demeanor of both of them.

It is $75 for each visit. I would use them again.

They changed my filter after I was told by another company it would $2900 to fix. Appel only charged me 85.

This was for the A/C before the season started and to make sure everything is okay. I cannot remember what my service contract is because its for the A/C and furnace. I would give them for an A+ really. I have been with them since "94". They have always done right by me. I can call them up in the morning, and if I have an emergency they are there within a matter of hours. They are there usually within 15 minutes. Professionalism is very much an A.

We have a maintenance contract. It covers annual cleaning for both of our units, air conditioning and furnace. It does give us priority. If we have a furnace problem and call them, we pretty much go to the top of the list. I don't know that it covers anything other than the semi-annual maintenance, but we do kind of get priority service. We've never had a problem with them at all. They're a very good company, very professional, and know what they're doing. Just go ahead and put A's down for all the categories.

They were quick about coming out to do it for us. We were without A/C and it was particularly hot outside. I liked their responsiveness. I liked their quality of materials and their quality of workmanship. I would absolutely use them again.
