Rudy's Watch & Jewelry Repair

My wife bought me a watch from Tiffany's several years ago. I love the watch, but if you have ever dealt with Tiffany's you know they are very expensive. For years I went along with this thinking a quality watch deserved the best service. Recently the watched stopped working and the repair estimate from Tiffany's was nearly half of what the watch was purchased for in 2006. I thought I'd get a second opinion. Rudy's not only repaired it for a LOT less, but the service was better. At Tiffany, a sales rep looked at the watch and then sent it to their repair facility. The process took several days. At Rudy's I got an estimate the next day, and the repair was done in about the same time it took to get an estimate from Tiffany's. Thank you Rudy's for helping me keep this special watch in service.

My husband uses them because they're close to his work. It was under $10 because it was just a watch battery repair. They work great with my husband. He's been in there a couple of times. There's a woman in there who builds and repairs watches. She spends a little of bit of time showing him what should be done and she explains things. We've had nothing but positive experiences there. They're very punctual, very timely, and their pricing is competitive. It's just an awesome place.

Overall, it went well. They removed the links immediately. They were very quick and efficient. After we left my husband decided that one watch needed to be re-sized a bit more. We took it back (the same day) and they did that without another charge.

I was told when I first brought the watch to Rudy's Watch & Jewelry Repair that this particular watch movement was problematic, that a specialized battery was needed and that a repair might not be possible. Rudy and Monique attempted several repairs before replacing the old mechanism with a new Swiss movement. The watch now runs perfectly. I have used their services on numerous occasions and highly recommend their efforts, workmanship and customer-focus.

I was pretty pleased with the results of their work. They put in the extra link and it looks great, and the price charged was within the price quoted. However, I was a little annoyed because when my husband took the watch in, they said it would be finished in 7 to 10 business days. About a week later, I received a call from Rudy's. I expected the watch to be done, but they said they would need to special order the link and it would be another 7 to 10 days to complete the job. I asked why they hadn't mentioned this when we dropped off the watch, and they said they work on watches as they come in. I understand waiting my turn, but it would have been more professional for them to check their stock for the link before giving me a timeframe for completion of the job.

They were really nice and professional, did all the work while we were waiting. Initially we went in just to replace the batteries and fix the pin on one of the watches. They offered to buff the crystal for $5. That watch is really old but it has a lot of sentimental value to my husband, so we want it fixed and look as good as possible. Previously my husband took that watch to 3 watch repair shops trying to get a new battery, not only they couldn't open the back, one of the shops also broke the pin while trying. Rudy's watch repair shop opened the back with no problem and after they buffed the crystal, the watch looks a lot better than before. While waiting in the shop, I noticed they have all kinds of watchbands in stock. My husband's swiss army watch needs a 24mm leather band. It was hard to find in the past at other watch repair places. Rudy's watch repair shop not only have it, they also priced it very reasonable, so we replaced the watch band there too. I am really glad I find this place through Angie's list. They even gave me a dollar off each battery after I asked if there is Angie's list member discount. Thanks guys!

I took the watch into Rudy's late Monday afternoon. They wanted me to leave it with them so that they could make sure they got the band on correctly. It was ready by late morning on Tuesday. Very professional and reasonalbly priced. I will continue to take watches and other jewelry there for repair.

They do sales, service and repairs. They were very good. My wife felt they were pricey, and I’m not sure how their prices compare with everybody else. I had some watch stuff put in, and I didn’t have any issues with the service or price, because I looked at other places as well. The friendliness and punctuality of the staff is very good, and I’d rate them very well across the board. I would definitely use them again.

That's where I go for an appraisal for my jewelry. They're awesome. It's a small family place, they know their customers, they have good quality things, they do watch repair, do cleaning, and other things that are not just done anywhere. When I was there, there was wide range of people. I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

I am revising my report and bumped my marks up. I picked up my watch yesterday and things went from bad to worst with a heated conversation with the one of the owners. The ultimate determination of the problem cannot be obtained without a costly dis-assembly of the mechanical works. The problem is either dust, a metal shaving, or corrosion. I was not told this prior; I was told it was corrosion, yet no corrosion was seen yesterday when the watch was opened up. I felt deceived or lied to. My charge was refunded upon request. The owner called me this morning and apologized for the tone of our conversation and the mispeak. We had a very cordial conversation, and I thanked her for calling. I contacted Wenger's customer service and may send it to them get a determination of the problem and estimate. ******************************************************************************************************************************************** The new battery in the 15 year old Swiss watch was fine. The battery replacement in my 5 year old old Swiss watch was an absolute fiasco! The watch ran for a couple days and then stopped. Tapping on it would get it to run sporadically, then it would stop. This went on for a couple weeks. My internet research suggested it might be a weak battery so I took it back. I was told they would inspect it, check it for debris, put a new battery in, check it, and call me in one to two days. They did not call me so I called them at right at two days. I was told they put a new battery in it and they are checking it. They called two or three days later and informed it was not working correctly. They inspected it and said they found corrosion in it, and it would cost $150+ to replace the works in it! This jewler opened my SWISS watch THREE times before they could discover it had corrosion in it?? My 15 year old Wenger Swiss Army watch has been "bullet proof" in its operation. After 10 year of use and multiple battery replacements, I bought a new one. The older one was moved to hard weekend use (construction, woodworking, bicycling, fishing, hot-tub, etc.) and still works great. The newer, one was lightly used in my office job and as a dress up watch. It worked flawlessly for five years (including a prior battery placement.) After Rudy's replaced the battery it doesn't work. Hmm. One last note. I chose this jeweler based on the Angies List rating and its location. Angies List had a printable $1 off battery replacement which I took. It was nice that the rep was going to give me $1 off both watches. When I picked up the watches a different rep specifically commented on the $1 coupon. However, when she wrang up the bill on my credit card, she did not honor the coupon! They were very busy, I was in a big rush, did not want to wait another 5 minutes so I didn't bother to tell her. Just another little reason why I will not trust them with any jewelry related matter again..

I brought my Seiko watch (~$500 retail price) in to have the battery replaced (it was totally dead). They charged about $10 for the battery and about $10 for a new seal. After I got the watch back to my car, I noticed that the watch was working, but some of the functions weren't working correctly (chronograph). I brought the watch back in from the parking lot and asked them to help get the watch working again correctly. The person that replaced the battery tried to explain that all I need to do was go home and read my manual to reset the chronograph. I explained to her that I was well aware of how my watch was supposed to work and this was not normal. Reluctantly, she agreed to take the watch and have someone else look at it. After approximately two weeks, they called and stated that there was something wrong with one of the buttons and they couldn't fix it (the watch would need to be repaired by Seiko and would probably cost around $200). They were adamant that the watch could not have been damaged when they replaced the battery. I am equally adamant that the watch was working perfectly before the battery went dead and it definitely doesn't work correctly now. I'm no watch expert, but the only reasonable explanation that I can think of is that the watch was damaged when they replaced my battery. My suggestions: if you have a relatively nice watch, please try to find another place to have its battery replaced. Also, if Rudy's Watch and Jewelry Repair isn't able to safely replace batteries in certain watches, then they should just refer another business. I am disappointed that the service person tried to convince me that I just didn't understand how my watch was supposed to work when it was clearly malfunctioning. Just because I'm not a watch expert doesn't mean I don't understand the basics of my watch.

Very well. I broke a bracelet that has great sentimental value to me. It was a clasp bracelet that was difficult to put on so I used to slide it on over my hand and wrist which is how I broke it. I gathered up all of the pieces and Rudy's restrung it on stretch band so I could slide it on without risk of popping it again. The also replaced 3 watch batteries. I had forgotten my Angie's List coupon in my car on the evening I had the watch batteries replaced so they applied the discount several days later when I went to pick up my finished bracelet which I thought was generous and good business. Would definitely return for future jewelry repair jobs.

We have a 30 yr + Citizens watch that stopped running. Due to it's age, they thought they would have a hard time with the repair. They tried cleaning it and many other things first off. They ended up finding a movement and making it work. We could not have asked to deal with nicer people. They really went far and beyond our expectations in finding a movement for such and old watch - but one with great sentimental value.
