The gas log fireplace has a remote control transmitter and receiver. The batteries had died in them and I had replaced the batteries in the transmitter but in order to replace the batteries in the receiver, the logs had to be removed. I was not comfortable with doing this myself and since it had been a couple of years since the fireplace had been cleaned I decided to have Mowery come out to do it. I had used this service with them before with good success. It took a couple of weeks in order to get the work scheduled. The technician came out, got the batteries changed in the receiver, but when he went to use the transmitter, the fireplace would not come on. The receiver did beep when the batteries were inserted and the fireplace would light when he used the manual switch on the receiver. He told me that the receiver was bad and that the cost to replace it was $395.00 - which also included a new transmitter. I said that was outrageous and that I would check around. The technician did vacuum the fireplace, but only on one side. He never removed all of the logs to clean the whole unit and did not check for anything else. he was here only about 30 minutes. After he left, I got on the internet and found that the receiver cost was $117. and a new transmitter was $95. I also found online a service manual for the remote control units. I discovered that since the batteries had died in the units that all of the codes in the transmitter had been reset. I followed the instructions and in less than half an hour I had everything working just fine. I fell that the technician should have known to check to see if the codes needed to be reset (he said he owns this same type of unit). This should be part of the service and training instead of just wanting to sell parts that are not needed. I used Mowery because I try to support local businesses but I will look for another company for this type of service in the future.

Regarding the plumbing repair: The work okay except that they did not have a part available that I needed so I had to go to three different stores to get the part then had to pay again to get the part installed. The plumber was nice enough to tell me the name of the part so that I could research it on the internet and knew what to look for when I went to the stores. I also wanted to have the faucet in the utility sink replaced and I had bought the part. When he told me how much it would cost for the labor, I thought that it was outrageous and declined. Regarding the furnace maintenance: The work went fine and the technician was courteous and seem to know what he was doing. However, as he was leaving, I noticed several bright green florescent stickers on my furnace (it is located in the garage). These were the companies' service report. I noticed that some of these covered up reports from previous service companies and that they covered up the service report histories of what had been done to the furnace. I WAS FURIOUS!!!! I asked why he had done that and he said that his boss wanted them to cover up the names of other companies. I did call and complain to the company. This is rude and unacceptable to destroy the service history of what had been done to a piece of equipment.

The technician arrived on time as scheduled. He was polite and very professional. After removing plumbing from under the kitchen sink, the technician determined that the drain drain stoppage was due to a clog further down the line. He used an electric auger to unstop the clog. The water did start to flow but the technician was not satisfied with the rate the water drain and he augured again. This time the water drained rapidly and the technician was satisfied that the clog and been totally eliminated.

They were on time and delivered the services advertised. I would definitely use them again.

I left an email request for a service call on Sunday, 12/30/12, to repair my gas logs, and to consider a service agreement on my Heating/AC.. They (Becky) called Monday morning, very pleasant, and had a technician (Ron) at my home yet that morning. He quickly identified and repaired the problem with the gas logs, cleaning everything as he went. Then he asked whether to see my furnace and asked if I had had a fall service visit. Thank goodness he did, because I had had it "repaired" by my old service company two months ago, and they didn't reconnect a hose properly. It was leaking water; causing some rust and water on the floor. Ron was able to identify the problem and he fixed it within a few minutes. He also talked with me about the filters I was using, recommending a different type to cause less stress on the blower fan, and then told me how to more effectively use the fan setting on the thermostat to help the furnace fan to better balance heating/cooling in the house. The service was excellent. Needless to say, I signed a service agreement immediately. I'd give them an A++ if that was possible.

It was fine in the end after a little communication difficulty getting the ordered part installed for the furnace. I had to clean my furnace filters myself because that was not included in the annual cleaning price.

I had prepaid for a year's worth of furnace/air conditioner tune ups so they called to schedule the air conditioner portion. When it was time for the appointment they were prompt and extremely efficient. They started outside with the unit then moved inside making sure the thermostat and air filter were working properly. Everything was cleaned and the job was completed in approximately 20 minutes. There service man was clean and very personable. We have used them every year for several years and they always provide excellent service. The staff is friendly and are always willing to answer any and all questions. I never feel stupid for asking a question.

Mike (who was wonderful) exceeded all expectations! Cleaned out a main drain in the house and found a baby wipe that was clogging it up. Went above and beyond the call of duty!

Mowery installed a new HVAC system in my house, including all the duct work. This was a routine check before winter. Each time they have come they have been punctual, helpful, professional and made some suggestions to help the system work better and more efficiently. Suggestions have included changing the programmable thermostat to make the timing more efficient, leaving the air flow on to help better regulate the temperature and ways to keep the dog from '"disturbing" the outdoor part of the equipment. The company has been a pleasure to work work on all occasions

We have been having problem with water under our house. Once the water was remove, the damage was great. We call them and was inspected and given and estimate. They came and replace out ducts that had rusted out. We have been with this company for a number of years. On Nov 2011 they install a new furnace for us. They are a great company and have been a pleasure to service our needs..

The 2nd day at our new house, 2 toilets stopped flushing and resisted my assault by plunger and rotary drill attached drain cleaning snake. I saw their offer and rating on Angie's List and called, got a price estimate with a range and explanation of what to expect, and then they called a bit later when the plumber, Phil, was on his way. Phil showed up and quickly assessed the situation and got to work. He was cheerful and diligent and so good he made it look easy. After some heavy equipment dug through my cloggage the problem was solved. I paid $99 and had been given a price range estimate of $99 to $299 depending on intensity of the situation. This was a picture perfect example of how I wanted this to be fixed and I highly recommend Phil and the rest of Mowery!

The service from intial contact through finishing of the job was prompt, personable and professional in both cases. Work to be done was clearly defined and described. Recommendations about possible additional work discovered along the way were made without pressure and with helpful background information. Care was taken to clean up afterward and to ensure that we were pleased with the job.

Shortly after purchasing my new home, my wife and I noticed a natural gas odor coming from the key valve that controls the gas flow to the gas log fireplace. The gas company confirmed that we had a minor leak, so I called Mowery out to get an estimate on a repair. Mowery came out that same day and inspected the fireplace and the valve. After talking through the options, we decided that the most logical approach was to replace the old gas log set with a more modern (and much safer) set that could be lit with a simple switch rather than a match. Mowery quoted a fair price on the log set (prices were in line with other gas log retailers) and wrapped the valve replacement into the install price. Overall, the total price may have been a bit on the high side, but the slightly higher price was worth it given the high quality service and TRUE professional installation by a licensed plumber.

Called Mowery in the morning, they came in the afternoon. John was on time and did a great job. He also, explained the other services Mowery offers.

They were responsive and punctual. However, i"m not sure what the service man did as he was down in the basement and I was upstairs taking care of my infant. He did not discuss his work with me prior to leaving either. We haven't had any problems since he has been here.

They came in, in the morning and laid plastic over all my carpeting. Hauled out the extremely heavy cast iron insert and proceeded to install the gas line. When they were done they were very articulate in cleaning up.

Very thorough visit. Technician was punctual, wore shoe covers, kept me informed during the cleaning and with all issues found. Showed me the parts to be replaced and explained why and what needed done. He found that their previous technician had not sealed between the plastic transition plate and the inducer motor when the transition was replaced, so he got that taken care of.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal to have Mowrey unclog my kitchen sink. It was a very good experience all the way through and no problems other than a slight mix-up on which phone number they should use to call me. The lady who scheduled the appointment was very pleasant and helpful. The technician that did the work was punctual, polite, neat and did a good job at solving my problem. I would use this company again.

purchased "big deal" they called and setup an appointment tech came out and cleaned and checked my furnace was here about 1 hour and did a good job pleased with dealing with them

They were a no call no show. They were given two contact cell numbers and we have yet to hear anything from them. I'm now using a different company.

Came on time, explained procedure, completed job in timely manner.
