Mowery Heating, Cooling & Plumbing

We moved in to an older home that was in major need of a drain unclogging in the bathroom. We purchased a big deal for Mowery's, and they were in touch the next morning to set up a date and time that worked for our schedule. Kevin was on time, and even made an effort to minimize noise while I was on a conference call. He explained that the clog had been there for many years before we moved in, and the clogged tub was also impacting our bathroom sink. We were so happy with the deal (and with Kevin!) that we have used the company again for our plumbing needs.

Called on a Sunday morning for emergency service since the AC wasn't working. The Mowery dispatcher contacted a service tech who was able to be to my house within 2 hours. He took me through some basic troubleshooting on the phone, but service was still needed. (I appreciated the effort to solve this by phone at no cost to me!). The tech arrived on time (in fact, a few minutes early), promptly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He gave me several pieces of unsolicited advice about caring for and operating my furnace and AC, which was above and beyond. Paid weekend rates, which were about what I expected to pay. Could've waited til Monday for the regular rate, but I didn't want to take off work (and it's going to be in the 90s!). Was so impressed that we bought a service contract from Mowery so we can get regular tuneups to keep our equipment running smoothly. We weren't charged the diagnostic fee since we bought the service contract.

Removed a lot of hair. Now drains well. Kevin was very good to work with. Have used a second time with good results also.

After a scheduled A/C maintenance visit, it was determined that my 1978 A/C system was needing repairs that, for myself, justified purchasing a new system. The company's rep, Jay, was able to come to my house that same day and review different levels of systems. He was very polite, professional and not pushy. We were able to set up a day for installation and Jay went over all the details of what would occur. He reassured me that he was only a phone call away for any questions or concerns. He was present when the installers came, on time, introduced the workers and again reminded me that he was only a phone call away for anything. B/c of an unforeseen situation with installing the thermostat, the company upgraded the thermostat without any additional cost to me. The owner of the company, Chip, stopped by to introduce himself and thank me for giving their company the opportunity to do business with me. I was very satisfied with the installation. The installers cleaned up the work area and left things in good order. The installer, Gary, explained things to me when they were finished and encouraged me to call for any concerns. Overall, even though it was an unwanted expense, the experience was a good one. I would recommend Mowery to others that might be needing their services.

We met with Jay, the estimator. It was an amazing experience! Jay was professional,, friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us so much helpful information so we could make an educated decision. We met with other service providers and after comparing value, ratings and pros/cons on each system, we had to go with Mowery because they were head and shoulders above the rest. Because they have 3 installation teams, we were able to have the system installed within 2 days. The morning of the install, a cheerful company employee called and let us know the techs were on their way. Jay came and introduced me to Tyler and Randy who would be doing the install. They were a well-oiled machine. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Chip and later Andy the Sales manager. Tyler and Randy ran into a couple of issues once the old furnace was removed and they solved/fixed the issues. Tyler explained the state of the art thermostat. We can control our temp even when we are away from home. They pride themselves on customer service and they honestly live and breathe it!! It was wonderful working with a company that you know cares about their product and customers.

I would have liked it to be less expensive.. But, I do not know how much these heaters should run... I would like a supervisor or manager to come out and check the gas line installation just for my peace of mind...

I was not there at the time to provide additional feedback, but they appear to have done a good job.

For heating we use Mowery’s. I think it was around $300.00 because we paid our yearly maintenance fee with them. Absolutely an 'A'.

Very well! They had to use three different blades to clean out all the gunk in a 25-foot, flat section of really old pipe in the basement. The guy was really friendly, professional and persistent.

I called on a Saturday afternoon expecting to make an appointment for next week. I was told that someone could be out later in the day and there was no extra fee for a Saturday visit. Within 2 hours, Brent was at my home and provided a thorough diagnostic of the problem with my 2 year old a/c unit (not installed my Mowery). He took his time and explained everything to me, giving me his recommendation on the most efficient way to get things cooing properly and gave me a quote so I can make arrangements to call back to schedule the work. I was very pleased with his knowledge and the time he took to explain my options.

In a word Wonderful! The main motor on my furnace went out and would have cost $500 to replace. Because of previous repair costs and the age of the furnace, we decided to look at a new furnace. We were pleased when the salesman didn't pressure us in any way. He discussed the various models and with his help we chose the model that made the most sense for us. There was no pressure to buy a higher priced model. Since the earliest installation date was a week away, they went ahead and installed a motor in our old air conditioner at no cost so that we would have a/c until they installed our new system. WOW! I also had their plumber, Ken, come out to look at installing an all house water conditioner. He could have installed one for me, but told me there was no need for it as I am on city water. I appreciate the fact he didn't install something I didn't need thus saving me quite a bit of money. I highly recommend this company. Every one that came to my house was very courteous and professional.

Our A/C had stopped cooling and after some research I decided to give Mid-West a call. The woman I spoke to was very polite and quick to get me on the schedule, and said she would give me a call back when a technician was headed my way. Within half an hour she called back, and within another half an hour he was here. Jim went back and forth between the furnace and A/C unit a few times to figure out the problem. He found that the tube from the A/C to the furnace was a bit clogged so he unclogged it, and asked if we change our filter regularly. We have a very old oil furnace that neither of us know much about, and I was embarrassed to tell him no. He showed me exactly where the filter goes and even measured the fit for me, which I greatly appreciated. After the unit was running better, he brought in something that would detect a freon leak and found one in a coil. Jim said it looked like something was eating the copper of the coil, but typically something like that would only happen around sewage/sewage treatment areas. I was surprised by his intuition! A drain in the basement, right next to the furnace, has been backing up lately and releasing sewage gas into the basement. I had been putting off dealing with it since I thought it was just a small problem. He recommended I fix it right away (I have someone coming out today to clear and clean it). He signed me up to have someone come out in the fall and service/tune up the furnace before winter. He also gave me several tips about oil furnaces. We had been told before that the furnace does not have much time left, which Jim confirmed. He scheduled someone to come out and give us a free estimate on a new system next week. I was going out of the country on July 4th and learnt that water softener had to be replaced. They asked if they could get it a little later and I told that it would not work for me. They were very good about getting the water softener this far and getting it installed on July 2nd. I appreciated the work.

The service provided to me by Mowery Heating and Cooling was outstanding. He gave me some good advice for the future and the whole bit. I'd have them in a flash again.

Last Saturday, our AC went out sometime in the morning. Of course, my greatest concern was that it was the weekend. I thought whoever might be able to check it out would be both expensive and too busy to get there soon enough. That wasn't the case with Mowery. I called a little before noon and was told that the tech would be at our house by 2 pm. The tech actually showed up at 1 pm. He was courteous, knowledgeable and clean. He located the issue fairly quickly and then performed a full check-up/maintenance on our AC system and was able to wrap everything up by around 2:30 pm. I was told that Mowery charges a little more, but this kind of service is worth it. Furthermore, we purchased their spring/fall tune-up package, and that will save us more money in the long-run.

Very smoothly. It was a cold, wet day. They were professional in handling all details involving the process.

Our furnace went out on one of the coldest nights of the year and we didn't realize until we woke up freezing. I called Mid-West Comfort Express on a Sunday and they sent somebody right out to look at the furnace. The Furnace was going on 18 years old so I wasn't expecting any miracles. After we decided we wanted to go ahead and replace our furnace and air conditioner they came out the very next day and got everything set up for us. They were prompt, clean, and professional. They explained everything that they were doing and had our home nice and warm in less that 2 days. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get anything from regular HVAC maintenance to major repairs or replacement.

I give them all A's and will use them again in the future.

The staff does not communicate well and it made my big deal experience with this company a head ache. I tried to call the company but no body answered and still have yet to return my message to this day. 7/22/2013 I called on July 2nd, 2013 the day the appointment was set up for. I left a message that there was a misunderstanding about what needed to be done at the tenant's house. I never heard anything back.

The technician is the same one who has come to my home before. He is knowledgeable, so I felt good that every time I've used Mowery, the same technician comes. He knows my system. He diagnosed the problem, and explained it thoroughly. I asked several questions and his answers were thorough and easy to understand. He also offered a couple of alternatives focused on savings. I picked the most cost-effective repair. He completed the work quickly, and tested the results to verify they were what he expected. By purchasing a service agreement, I saved approximately $125 over what I would have paid had I not purchased the agreement. The agreement provides two cleanings/tune-ups in a one year period, and also provides a discounted service call fee for future repairs and a discount on parts. Although I spent $504 for the repair I would have spent $630+ had I not opted for the service agreement. Although I still thought this was high, I guess it is not cheap to operate a fleet of service vehicles. pay technician salaries, pay for the high cost of fuel, and stock parts for a variety of makes and models of furnaces and A/C units. And all of this probably has to be amortized into the cost of repairs.

We had to call Lennox to have the blower motor covered under warranty as it was expired by 2 months.

they has always done a good job, been using them for almost 20 years. Very nice and professional. Highly recommend them for your service call or install of new furnace and a/c. They have installed 2 furnaces and air condition since I started using them.
