I have been planning this for four years. I was replacing an open vent gas log with a ventless. I got three estimates and decided to go with Mowery. They were able to get me in right away. Another company came out and removed the old firebox. Mowery came out right on time and two fellows installed the new box. I understand they did a preburn on the log before it was installed. This was to prevent any initial smells. It worked. There were no smells. Every thing went well and then the pilot light went out. Kevin came out and got it going again. It went out again. Larry came out and got it going again. It went out again and Kevin came out and got it going. This went on for a month. The response was always prompt. The office staff was so helpful and always kind. Larry came out again and replaced the pilot and the thermostat and plugged a hole that was letting cold air in. It has been working perfectly. I couldn't be happier. I felt I was treated so well by everyone I spoke to. With all this cold weather I have enjoyed staying in sitting by the fireplace. I am so glad they hung in there with me and got it all sorted.

I called Mowery at 4 am when a water pipe burst in my garage. I had a tech at my house within an hour, who was able to quickly help me. I was a little sticker shocked when I heard the price of repair, however I was later told that wasn't a bad price for pipe repairs. The technician only took about an hour-hour and a half to get the pipe repaired and a new valve in place. 3 hours after he left, I had another pipe burst.....in line, BEFORE the spot that he already repaired. I called back into Mowery, and they dispatched the same tech. He gave me a very good price coming back, and was very honest in not charging me a second emergency fee. Overall, I'm very happy with services performed, and will use again!

They are a very good company. They come when I need them which helps having a service contract with them. They are on time and they are professional.

Our furnace quit working and was only blowing cold air throughout the house. I called Mowery and Kevin was at the house within the hour. He assessed the problem and, not having an igniter that would work in our furnace on his truck, called around until he found one and then drove to the other side of town and back in the horrible road conditions. I whole heartily recommend calling Mowery for any heating and cooling needs and fully intend to call them in the next few days to repair a dripping shower fixture.

I purchased the Big Deal 12/17/13 from Mid-West Comfort Express Inc. for a diagnostic test for a heat pump and air handler. Before buying the deal I contacted Mid-West and spoke with Jackie. I told her I needed the diagnostic on a heat pump and the air handler system and asked if the big deal would cover the cost. She said it would since I didn't want a tune up and the electric system didn't need a carbon monoxide test. We scheduled the appointment for Dec. 19. Jackie informed me a day later that I couldn't use the deal for that purpose. I've requested a refund, which she said Mid-West would honor and instruct Angie's List to make the refund. Please do, since Jackie assured me before I bought the deal that the company would honor it for my specific need.

Their estimate was higher, but they were professional and refunded my money without any issues.

Service man arrived on the appointed day within the scheduled time frame for my annual furnace tune up. He checked the thermostat, sensor igniter, burners, changed the filter, inspected for safety and vacuumed the furnace. Service man friendly, courteous, efficient and thorough.

Provider, was courteous, professional, on time and did a great job.

I last used them 2 or 3 weeks ago and I spent about $1100 with them. We pay our yearly maintenance fee with them. They did an air conditioning tuneup, electronic cleaner and they replaced filters.

The plumber showed up on time and had the slow running toilet fixed very quickly. I have had no issues since. I am very happy.

Barry was very courteous and professional. He was knowledgeable and shared his insight on all things heating/cooling. I really appreciate that he gave me some peace of mind for the upcoming winter season. I will definitely be using Mowery again. I bought their maintenance plan which I will probably be using soon for upcoming water heater service. Would recommend them to friends and family.

I called to schedule service and to add a device to my system. The lady who answered the phone was very busy and we had a bit of a miscommunication. The management at Mowery jumped on top of the situation and went well beyond my expectations. I am glad that my system is covered by such good people!

This appointment was confirmed and set up through the email system with Angie's List. First, I find this awkward and indirect. I would have appreciated better communication directly from their scheduler/dispatcher regarding a better defined or more specific time frame, and a phone call indicating when I could expect the arrival of the technician. Originally scheduled for Friday, October 25th after 4 pm, this appointment had to be rescheduled. After 5:30 pm when no one had called me, I called them and learned they were too busy to make the appointment. The new date and time was set for Friday, November 1st after 4 pm. After leaving work early to be home for this appointment, nobody called with any status of the expected arrival time, and by 6 pm I concluded they were not coming. At 7 pm the technician arrived rather unexpectedly, and performed the service very professionally, explaining everything he was doing and going the extra step to clean the intake system.

During inspection of our 16-year-old furnace for a gas smell, Jim from Mowery realized our draft hood had disconnected from the flue stack causing the furnace to exhaust into our home (the roofing guys probably caused that this summer). Jim also noticed a cracked heat exhanger and a need to replace the inducer. All said, the $1500+ to replace these parts convinced me it was time to invest in a new, high-efficiency furnace. Pete from Mowery came by the next day and reviewed the various furnace options with us. We ended up buying a Lennox Elite model, as Pete was very honest about our requirements and the unit which would service our home the best. The installers arrived the next day, with Pete, put on shoe covers and covered the entire floor with a protective barrier. They proceeded to remove the old furnace and bacteria ridden (it was really mold, but they aren't allow to say mold) duct work, and useless humidifier which did nothing but leak. They installed the new furnace and new clean air return, and completely cleaned up all installation mess. During this process, both a job site manager and the owner of Mowery stopped by to check on the work and thank me for choosing Mowery. Finally, Pete came back a few days later with three different rebates (Lennox, Vectren, and Federal) for me to complete so I would get some money back. The new furnace is so quiet, we wouldn't know it was running if we couldn't feel the heat. And because it is a high-efficiency, variable speed furnace, it runs only about 1/2 as often as the old furnace. Remember, when choosing a company to work with, you get what you pay for. Is it really worth saving a couple hundred bucks on a furnace or air conditioner if the service, follow-up, and overall experience is less than perfect? Probably not!

He was extremely honest, punctual, and gave us as much detail as we wanted. I felt really confident that I was getting exactly the services needed and nothing more.

We were give a date and time range that the service man would arrive. The service man called in the morning to verify that he would be coming that day and called back to alert me when he would arrive which was within the time range. He promptly went to work when he arrived and fixed the problem. He dressed neatly, was a pleasure to work with, and cleaned up the affected area when he was done. The price was as quoted. I would ask for the same repairman in the future....he knew his job, explained what he was doing and why, and got the job done.

They have been very professional and very good about keeping me posted while they are working hard to find the correct part to get my wall furnace fixed.

During the inspection, the tech determined the freon was low, so he filled to proper levels. This was an additional $100 for the freon. He then checked the unti again, but the ac was not maintaining the proper cooling temperatures. He performed additional tests on the unit, and determined that a sensor had failed. Fortunately, the part was under warrenty, but the labor to install the new one, was not. When it was all said and done, the a/c was operating within normal parameters in two days (warranty part had to be ordered). Total labor to install the part was $296. I would have no issues calling them again.

I called Mowery to request a plumbing service call to diagnose and repair a leaking toilet. [The leak turned out to be coming from the water fill tube.] Within an hour, a plumber arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem and made the repair. At the time of my call, it was noted that I was due for a furnace clean-and-check as part of my service agreement, and I was offered the opportunity to have that done the same morning. The heating/cooling technician showed up about ten minutes after the plumber did, and I was able to complete my "to do" list with one phone call--very efficient indeed! As always in my experience, the Mowery personnel were courteous, responsive, and professional.

Their service turned out fine and I have no complaints. I also recommended them to a family member and told them that they were good. Their work met my expectations.

They are very reliable and reasonably pice. They do a good job. I know when they are done I won't have to call them back to fix anything. They always put on booties when they come in your house.

It was perfect. I would highly recommend him. He performed lots of test to make absolutely sure the work was done perfectly. They were extremely professional. They got here quicker than I expected. I would definitely use them again.

Great. The entire staff was a pleasure to deal with. They had to send out a guy that normally didn't do install but due to the shape of my furnace they knew it needed done quickly and they were booked for a few days, but he had worked there for years as a repair guy and wanted to help out. The salesman came & helped him carry out old furnace from my basement, then the owner stopped in during the install just to introduce himself and see if I had any questions. He was here almost 8 hours and that man never left and did not even ask to take a restroom break. When the time comes to replace the CA unit, I plan to give them a call.
