Inspection went well. The inspector was on time and seemed to do a good job. He even told us that it looked like the control panel had been replaced, which we did not know.

Everything was great, our furnace is fixed and it is working great, and it was very affordable

This call was a result of a purchased furnace tune-up on Angie's List. At $55, it seemed like a good value. I liked the technician. He seemed knowledgeable, and did a bunch of vacuuming; but may have been a bit focused on finding something wrong so that Mowery could sell a new furnace. He observed that the furnace was short-cycling, and pointed out that the heat exchanger was cracked. He recommended a new furnace, turned mine off, and got me scheduled for a sales visit the following day. After he left, I restored the power to the furnace and it continued to short-cycle. (Burners would run only for a few minutes before shutting down; regardless of whether the thermostat was satisfied.) Thinking he was perhaps out of his expertise, I called the vendor that installed the system originally. Although I had to pay a $90 minimum, this technician quickly recognized that the condensate trap was blocked, causing water to accumulate in the heat exchanger... and resulting in the short cycling. It seems to me that a furnace tune-up should include checking the condensate flow and, at least, cleaning the trap. For that reason, I can't give Mowery a grade better than a C. Ironically, the total charge for the service call from the second vendor was only $125. In hindsight, I wish I'd saved the $55 that I spent on the tune-up. ========= UPDATE: The day after posting this initial review, I was contacted by a manager from Mowery in regards to my comments. To my surprise, he was not defensive but apologetic. He volunteered that cleaning the condensate trap should have been done as a part of the tune-up and that they had refunded my fee. I was impressed with the professionalism shown, and have raised their grade to a B. Everyone makes mistakes, and how we handle them is a measure of class.

I have dealt with a lot of refrigeration and HVAC businesses. Nothing really makes them stand out much above other companies that I have dealt with other than their proximity. They do have a lot of service techs. So getting someone out doesn’t take terribly wrong.

They installed a new air conditioning system. They did a great job. They did have to come out a few times during the warranty and they came outside of the warranty to service it and did it for free.

Service technician was on time, as should be expected. I had used Mowery only one time, a few years ago. At that time, Mowery installed a thermostat (their quote was more reasonable than competitors). However, since I had used another local company for many years, out of a sense of loyalty, I continued to use that company (In spite of that fact that their work would sometimes require an additional visit to re-examine the problem, or the price would seem a bit high). For reasons unnecessary to this review, I decided to call Mowery to fix the current problem we were experiencing with our furnace. Since that recent work, we have been satisfied, and satisfied with the price as well. I will likely continue to use Mowery.

We called to schedule an appointment and they were at our house the very next day. We felt the estimate was fair. Within a couple of days the team came out to install the new furnace and air conditioner. They were very courteous and efficient. They were willing to stay as long as it took to do a good job. We have dealt with furnace and air companies in the past and feel that they are the best company we have worked with, hands down. Will definitely use them again.

thorough inspection and evaluation of furnace, which was found to be in accordance with manufacturer specs, except for the capacitor. technician noted that furnace manufacturer would recommend replacing capacitor for blower motor to prevent breakdown; technician provided one price as preventative maintenance, and a much higher (almost double!) price as a service call.

Thus far, Mowery will charge us to clear the bird debris that their vent cap failed to keep out. The cost to clear the vent would be much lower if we purchase a new furnace from Mowery. I never heard back from Jay, the salesman, once I told him that we found a furnace for less and would not be contracting with Mowery for the work. In order to use our new furnace, the job of clearing the nests MUST be done, and apparently we either have to pay Mowery AGAIN or pay our new HVAC professional to clear it. It is the coldest day in Nov. and we are without heat, and Mowery certainly has not "exceeded expectations" for us. Something tells me if I paid Mowery for a more expensive furnace, this issue would be resolved promptly.

The plumber was smug and made it very clear he was taking advantage of me. He and his helper came in and replaced the pipe in 10 minutes and just smiled with utter delight when he took the check for $495 to simply and quickly replace a small pipe. Unbelievable! When asked why it was so much, he took out this rediculous thick book with price quotes that he says everyone is using and showed me a range of estimates for this type of work. 10 minutes of work, a cheap 3' PVC pipe and an incredibly ridiculously high price. Will never use them again and will recommend to others not to use them.

They were great! The technician was very nice. He gave me information on things I could do myself.

Everything went very well. The gentleman that came out was dressed well, worked quickly and efficiently, and did a good job without leaving a mess. The company was very responsive, too.

Mowery Saved us $1700.00. A section of our HVAC ductwork collapsed. Another contractor had us convinced that ALL of the ductwork on the supply side of our system needed to be replaced. The Mowery Estimator told us only the fallen section needed replacement and the rest of the system was fine. The job was done on time and on budget. We are very pleased with the service.

My husband and I and my parents have used what use to be Midwest Heating and Cooling and is now Mowery. I'm sure the former owners would be distraught if they knew how the company is run now. I scheduled an appointment for routine service on 10/20/14 and was told they would be here between 8 and 12. At 1230 I called them and told them I need to reschedule. I was given no reason or apology as to why I had not heard from the service tech. I understand they can get behind on a job but common courtesy and good business dictates a phone call with an explanation and an oppourtunity to say I can wait or I need to reschedule. On 10/27/14 I had an exact repeat of the week before. I had actually paid for the one year service agreeement the week prior. When I called to ask for my money back and cancelled my appointment the second time, the only response I received was "I'll talke care of that for you". No "I'm sorry", nothing!

Great! On time, good job, will hire again!

This was a deal purchased thru Angie's List. Everything went smoothly. We bought our furnace & AC from this company in 2011 and get them serviced every spring & fall to comply with warranty requirements. We have never had any problems with Mowery.

I like them. It was a very good experience. I had a coupon and they came in and did exactly what they said they would do. They found an additional problem but I contacted somebody else who I had a warranty with.

If I have problems, I call to have them take care of it. I see them about once every six months to do the maintenance and checkup. The service agreement is $130-$140 for the year. They have taken care of every problem that I have ever experienced. I haven't done much comparison regarding the price but I feel I'm getting a pretty good deal. Everything has been done well.

The drain flange in our 20 year old house had become corroded after a poor chemical selection, and as a result, the stopper no longer worked. Mowery scheduled us promptly and at a time convenient to us. Our technician Heath explained that he did not have a new assembly on the truck to match the nickle finish in our bath; but, he could order one. Since we wanted it completed, we told him the chrome version would be fine. When he was finished and we inspected the job, I was surprised to find that it was in the matching finish. He explained that while he was working, a colleague called. When Heath learned he was at the supply house, he had his colleague pick up the matching assembly and drop it by our house. We are very happy with the end result! All in all, good work and a prompt, professional call.
