Glen and his partner arrived on time and introduce themselves and went to the dryer location. They took little time to determine the materials of the dryer venting in basement, later they fixed the problem within sometime.

These gentlemen were so prompt and professional. They came for the original dryer vent cleaning, but pointed out a few items that we not up to code with our existing venting. Those repairs were made and included a walk on the roof to ensure that vent cover was properly connected and working. Additionally, they noted that my water hoses on the washer were not the strength/type they should be. Those were replaced with braided, stronger hoses. Very positive experience! Was happy to see this service on Angie's Daily Deal as it prompted me to get the task done. Would recommend Dryer Vent Wizard of Avon!

I called and Glen patiently answered my questions...and he was not put off by being warned that he would have to work in a very tight space and probably also have to go down into the crawl space. They did a beautiful job! I allowed them to also sell me a better rodent cover for the dryer vent and better washing machine hoses. They told me that the original substandard dryer vent hose had a tear in it. No wonder our house always had lint and dust a day or two after i vacuumed! After all of the replacements, and after they inspected the section in the crawl space-no easy task, but luckily there were no problems in that section leading to the outside--they cleaned out the system. And to be extra nice, they helped me coil up the last of the electric extension cords I was removing after putting away our Halloween decorations. Now, wasn't that going the extra mile? I think our system is now in tip top shape and this gives me a feeling of real satisfaction and security. I wish all service people and contractors were as nice and as expert. It also makes me wonder why on earth the repair person ( from another appliance company) who hooked up our dryer when we moved here 7 years ago left such a coiled mess as a set up for a fire some day. Shame on him and thank you very much Dryer Vent Wizards!

This company gave me an estimate over the phone of approximately $90 - $120. When complete, I ended up paying $190. The representative doing the work was efficient and explained everything about the task. As he explained various nuances to my particular vent structure, I was informed that there would be additional costs. It would have been more realistic for me to get a price per foot of tubing during the phone estimate which would have prepared me for the price hike I received at end of service.

I contacted Dryer Vent Wizards for estimate and testing of dryer efficiency/clean out/replacement of plastic venting material When the house was built in 1989, plastic venting material was apparently to code. However, the venting material within the wall behind the dryer was always to be a solid metal. As it turned out my house (and several in the neighborhood who have also discovered this) had the plastic venting material behind the wall as well. It's one thing to regularly clean lint traps and check attic for problems but when there is something behind a wall that could be the source of a fire...very scary. Glenn Mayfield (owner) came out to inspect and test. I'd had vent/duct cleaning before. I knew about the plastic venting in the attic but did not know about the plastic venting in the wall. Once I did, I wanted it replaced. DVW was a company who not only cleaned and tested, but replaced previous venting with the proper venting. Our neighborhood consists of 75 homes. If several of us had the plastic venting behind the wall, chances were good that there are more in the same situation. As President of our HOA, I asked Glenn if he would offer a neighborhood discount if I could get more homeowners to do the same. He was willing to do so and I put it in our newsletter. He even offered to attend our annual meeting. We scheduled a date in the future for the project and when that day arrived, everything went off without a hitch. I looked at the section that was removed from the wall and it had a hole in it. So 20 + years of lint was accumulating behind the drywall, waiting... The plastic in the attic wasn't bad, albeit brittle. Since it was a flexible material, it sagged between the joists. And where it sagged, lint accumulated. Waiting... waiting.... All flexible, plastic venting is gone now. In its stead is solid metal which will not sag, go brittle, or cause me to lose sleep. I'd highly recommend this company and their process.

They were friendly on the phone. Got here quickly. Went above and beyond to assess the problem and fixed it even though it took more time and effort than originally thought.

We had a room addition and crawlspace added to our home several years ago. The contractor chose to run the existing dryer ductwork from the existing hole and extended it through the new crawlspace. He used the accordian style aluminum tubes. We felt that perhaps this was too long of a length for the ductwork. In addition, the contractor did not securely connect all the ductwork, so whenever we had to move the dryer to clean, the top of the ductwork disconnected from the connection. We saw an ad for the Dryer Vent Wizard, and called for an appointment. Mr Glen Mayfield arrived in the time frame and date that he promised. He first asked me to turn on the dryer, and then went outside to measure the airflow. I was pleased to learn that the airflow was very good, so there was no blockage. He also showed me a copy of the Indiana Code, and advised me that we were well under the maximum length for the venting of a dryer. I asked for a quote to drill a new hole for an outside vent, to shorten the length. Mr. Mayfield gave me that quote, but also provided another quote for an alternative solution. He said that it would be less expensive to keep the existing connection, and just replace it with rigid aluminum tubing. He would also ensure that the connection to the dryer was easier to remove and would reinforce the connection of the duct to the crawlspace, so that it would not come loose when we moved the dryer. We chose his recommendation based on the information he provided. He provided the written quote, and did the work right away. I think he completed the work in less than two hours, and then asked me to inspect and approve the work. I was pleased with the overall job and finished product. He cleaned up after himself, and offered to take away the old ductwork if I didn't want to keep it. I appreciated the fact that he offered me options, and also had information on the Indiana Code to reassure me that the length of ductwork was decent, and was honest in advisng me that we had good air flow. I would recommend this company.

Overall, their work was fine. They were available and completed the work quickly. There were no questions regarding price. They did not do a great job of clean up, but it was cold and nasty outside. I was not too upset but wish that would have been better.

The guy answering the phone, Glen, was very nice - and I had to reschedule last minute, and they accommodated me quickly. Since I had seen another rating on here to make sure you ask specifically how much it would be, I did so, and I was told the most it would be was $151. The technician arrived, and from the beginning, he was a pushy salesperson. Before even taking a look at the situation, he was already trying to get me to have my dryer cleaned out and some new type of double door vent on the house to keep birds out instead of the wired box we currently have. While the technician was outside the house taking care of my vent, I overheard him talking to my neighbors - actually not really talking but selling to them, which I found annoying. He then finished the job - tried to pull a guilt trip on me about fire hazards and how he needed me to sign a disclosure form, so they wouldn't be held liable since I refused that service. Then he started telling me about how the neighbors needed the service. I implied they wouldn't be a good customer as they are about to be forced to leave (foreclosure), and he stated "aw, that's too bad - you could have made $25 for the referral." Really??? Kinda insensitive! He gave me the bill, and it was almost $200. I asked why as I was told it would be no more than $151, and there is a diagnostic charge of $39 to come out and take a look. This was something I was not told about, and when I told him I was not told about that on the phone, he said "I'm just the technician." I filled out a comment card expressing some of my concerns and mailed it the next day. I kept hoping I would receive a call or something to discuss my concerns, but didn't hear anything and it's been close to a month now. The work itself was great - dryer is working wonderfully now, but they really need to work on their sales tactics and be more customer focused. Just left a bad taste in my mouth.

They were very prompt when they came out and they did a very good job. Their prices were fair. The person was exceptionally courteous and didn't try to upsell me on anything. I would absolutely use them again.

I don't like surprises. As close to a bait and switch as you can get.

Chris arrived on time. He had previously called to verify my appointment (which I appreciate). Upon arriving he inspected my dryer and the outside cover to determine what it would take to bring the venting up to code. He put on a rigid vent line to replace the old one. This was approximately 4 feet of dryer vent. He used joint tape to finish it off. He put up a new vent cover replacement that looks much better than the old one. It will also protect against rodents. This cover also allows the air to flow more freely. When he was finished he demonstrated to me on his meter that more air was flowing than before. My dryer is now safer, more efficient, and the venting and outside cover look much better.!

Whole process was excellent. Set up appt. with Glen, Chris came out on time, friendly and professional. After surveying my situation, he wrote up an estimate to do the job and was able to do it right away. I'm very pleased. I was told that they mainly do dryer vent but he agreed to do bathroom exhaust also.

He cleaned the vent for me. He made a big deal about using the coupon. He explained that they go by the feet where the vent exits the wall and I only had one foot. The vent dryers usually have a guard that is tightened on to the back of the dryer and exit box. He told these off and used aluminum tape and said they would work better.

I would recommend this service, Dryer Vent Wizard to everyone (very competitive rates and professional for the service performed) The whole process took about hour to change over everything. This was point out every 2-3 years, I would need to have the dryer vent clean out because lint /moisture will clog this up over time.

Arrival was on time. He evaluated the position of the vent and discussed with me all the possibilities for new locations. When we decided on the work, he gave me a written price quote, then performed the work. Since we have a log home, we had to leave the vent coming out of the house where it was, so he routed it from there down through the deck and then out to the edge of the deck from underneath. You don't even notice it now. There is a flap on the end, so no animals can get in. He was tidy, polite and quick.
