Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Indiana

He was supposed to arrive between 8-9AM but received a call from the owner that our repair person had called in sick. Apologized and promised to send someone as soon as possible. Short time later, got a call that they would arrive around 11AM, which they did. Our vent system was totally clogged, which was the cause of my prolonged drying times. He cleaned out the entire system which goes to the roof and also checked the dryer. The dryer now functions like new! The only complaint that I have is regarding the cleanup. A neighbor came over to tell me they could see clumps of lint on the roof and in the eaves. I realize that the system was pretty bad, but I feel cleanup could have been more thorough. I got up on the ladder and picked lint out of the downspout and out of the garden below. For $341 and a little over an hour's work, I don't think I should have had to do any residual cleanup. However, everything works very well so I would use them again.... I will just check the job before they leave and not be so trusting next time.

Glen is the person that came out and performed the work. He was very professional and polite. He has been out previously to clean our dryer vent before so we were happy to hire them again. Luckily for us the repair wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. It was a pretty simple fix. He was up on the roof several times checking the speed of the exhaust making sure he got everything. I am very happy with the results. He called when he was about 30 minutes away which was very appreciated. If you need dryer vent repair or cleaning I highly recommend them.

Was difficult job - dryer vent went thru crawl space and out under deck so was difficult to get to. Husband helped technician but they got it cleaned out.

The technician was very personable and professional, and he did a good job. However, the price was more than I expected considering the scope of the work, and he arrived nearly two hours late without calling ahead to inform me of this. He also didn't offer a discount which would have been appreciated.

They came out the same day I called because I thought we might be something wrong with the venting altogether. The dryer vent was full and no air was passing through it.

They came out immediately the day I called, the owner gave me I had an usual venting problem on my dryer and he provided me with a solution and scheduled to have the work completed and it was done in a timely manner. He came out Tuesday, gave me an estimate and had the work done on time and it was wonderful. Usually they can complete them same day and because of the unusual circumstances he wanted to bring in a helper and I am glad he did. I would use them again.

New vent is installed and the dryer is back to working like it should. The work was done in about 2 hours. I originally contacted them to clean the vent but upon inspection they determined the vent was very old and needed to be replaced. Since this posed a fire hazard we decided to go ahead and get it updated. I also signed up for their "plan" which was $29 and will save me about $20 a year on vent cleaning and they will call each year as a reminder that its time to get cleaned. I had a bit of a communication problem at the outset which may have been complicated since I was on vacation but I wanted the job done while I was gone, the owner got involved and very quickly remedied the situation. I will use Dryer Vent Wizard in the future and recommend them to others.

This year (2014) I saw a new contractor on Angie's List for dryer vent cleaning and called Royal Treatment. The price was good and so I set up the appointment. The workman took my camera and took pictures of what the Dryer Vent Wizard had done to the area around my vent the 2 years prior. There were holes in my roof and the work looked so bad. It looked shoddy. They removed roofing shingles around the vent to fit their equipment into the vent cap in my roof. Nothing was replaced and now I have holes in the roof around the vent cap. I am paying a general contractor to fix it so my roof won't leak! I caution anyone who is considering Dryer Vent Wizard for service to not to use them! UPDATE: Re-sealed the vent area on my roof where I had cracks. Checked my attic for water damage. I had provider come out to clean my dryer vent. I was told that the vent was not put in properly and the area around the vent could be leaking from cracks in the sealant. I therefore gave Dryer Vent Wizard a review of (F) for prior years service. The owner of Dryer Vent Wizard read my review and called me immediately to remedy for problem, and he did just that. They came out on Sat. and explained the procedure of placing a new vent on the roof. They explained the cracks were normal for the weather in Indiana. They resealed the cracks and checked my roof and gutters while on the roof. They then got into my attic to check for water damage and it was completely dry. I have to say Dryer Vent Wizard did exactly what I expected a contractor to do when there is a problem. They contacted me and fixed the problem. I will use them in the future. 03/17/2014 I had a roofing company check my roof today and he told me the vent was not done properly and sealing materials were not correct. He took a picture and it is white caulking on top of gray caulking. The contactor said even the caulking used was incorrect. I am having the roofing company replace the vent and put in flashing which should have been done properly the first time. So a roofing contractor and a general contractor agreed with each other. I will never use Dryer vent wizard again.

Steve Dean was excellent. I have a new dryer and it would not dry without running of timed cycle twice. Dryer company came and repaired the timer but said the vent needed to be cleaned in order for it to work properly. I explained to Steve and he explained the pricing for the different outcomes ( if it was just a cleaning or if he had to go into attic, etc) He cleaned to vent with a hose, there wasn't much lint but he repositioned the vent hose and it works great.

It was good service, I didn't have any complaints. I had to pay a little over the price of the big deal, but that was because I added extra things that he recommended.

They came and did a little bit of a home improvement type of thing. My dryer vent was actually venting into the crawlspace and they came, applied the big deal to actually rerouting the dryer vent to the outside of the house instead of underneath the house and it vents to the outside. In actuality, this is probably something that was necessary and that it probably did two things. First of all it's actually taking away a possible source of an insect infestation that might have been in the dryer vent, it accumulates underneath the crawlspace and that stuff is flammable, the lint is flammable so that's not going to be underneath the house either. They took care of two problems that I didn't know I had and that I could have had. I'm glad that he came and was very honest and upfront about it, he was really good. It was top-notch and he was excellent. I would recommend them to anybody. He actually had to come back out afterwards because I think he had to bring somebody else with him so that they could drill a hole into the side of the house so that they could make the vent go that way and the vent that they put on is a good vent, it closes when it's not in use but when you turn the dryer off it pops open and it's in such a way so that critters can't crawl back in the dryer. He did very, very good work.

They did a good job. They showed up on time. I guess they’re a little deceiving because they did charge us more. I thought they did a good job. They were punctual.

The owner came out personally to do the job. We knew there had been the problem, and had had several people come out, but it hadn't been properly fixed before.

They have always been very good. They tell us what we need and don't need, which we appreciate. They said they should come back every six months because of the curvature of the vent. That said it might be necessary every six months to a year so we'll probably do it again in a year.

It was pretty good. They did a very good job. He was very thorough and very nice guy. When I called them, they came out within a week of when I wanted them to come. So we scheduled a time and they were out here when we wanted them out here.

They said free estimate on the phone. But when technician came out he asked for $49 trip charge, so the "free estimate" actually is not free. The technician came out to clear the vent duct. Due to weather, he can only clean it from inside, which took 10 minutes. He charged for $185, much more expensive than the BIG DEAL's $79. and the duct clogged up again now and I had to cleaned it again.

We were contacted very quickly! They were very professional, and will definately be using them again.

The job was completed within 45 minutes and Steve was clear in his explanations. He said the company would send me a card in the mail one year from now as a reminder to have the vent checked.

I purposefully postponed giving a review for this company immediately following my service with them back in August of 2012. My reasoning was because the tech that they sent to my home was not impressive. I continually received notifications/requests from Angie's List to provide my feedback. I did eventually decide to go onto Angies List to provide my honest feedback. I am not one to complain but felt honesty was the best policy. Within twenty four hours of my submission of feedback, I received a telephone call from the owner, Glen Mayfield, who was extremely apologetic for the previous tech who was sent to my service call and he proceeded to inform me that he was no longer with his company. He continued to recommend that I allow him to come back to my home and check everything that was done by his previous tech. I was very impressed that he was so generous and offered to make it RIGHT. He kept his promise and returned to our home to re-inspect and re-clean our dryer vent and re-route our exhaust pipe that was not giving adequate flow of air in its existing position. He went above and beyond in this call. He answered every single question that I had regarding the job and even provided additional information that I was not aware of. EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE!!! He even offered to put me on his recall list for a reminder in one year to keep me on schedule for regular maintenance. This is the way all customers deserve to be treated and we are blown away with Glens amazing ability to make a wrong so right!!!!! We would highly encourage anyone needing dryer vent cleaning and checking to contact Glen......Without a doubt he will go above and beyond to meet and exceed your every need and expectation when it comes to dryer vents.

Originally, I called DVW to clean out a clogged dryer vent and realign the vent pipe. The owner called and said that they were running behind due to a flat tire, but would still be there on time and they did. After inspection, it was determined that a new, up to code vent pipe needed to be installed. The owner, Gary, and an associate, had the new pipe installed in just over 1 hour. They were professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. I thought the price was fair, and I used an Angie's list coupon, too. My neighbor asked about the service and I recommended the company to him.

The technician for the first appointment couldn't make it and didn't call. The owner called a few minutes before the end of the appointment "window" to say he would be coming instead. He came to size up the project and decided he would need to return the following Tuesday. The following Tuesday the owner called to say he was sick and would have to reschedule. The appointment was rescheduled for a week later. On that day, the owner arrived 40 minutes late due to traffic problems in Indianapolis. He arrived with a helper and they proceeded to fix our dryer vent problem. The project was a little complicated but was completed in just under three hours to our satisfaction. Both the owner and his assistant were very professional and courteous. The price seemed a little high but we got our dryer vented and we're confident it was done correctly.
