+ -1 moreI called Friday and someone came out quickly. They started the job on Tuesday, there were equipment problems but once those were fixed they came back out. They tried to take the pump out but it broke at about 10ft because it was so old. They had to drill deeper than expected. After the drilling was done another team came out for the power of my water. I question the tech about the wire in the trench without any casing and said that's how he always does it. There were clumps of mud left in the house. But, I don't have any problems that I am aware of. I would use them again but would ask about the wire being more enclosed.
Description of Work: They had to drill my well because my well had dried up or the pump ran out.

+ -1 moreWe called several places for estimates. Most places were gruff and in a hurry and just rattled off a number to pay them. We felt most comfortable with George from C&J. He was honest, told us exactly what went wrong, gave us all the options, showed us all different kinds of pumps, and was back the very next day to finish the job. We ended up having to go after the prior owners to pay for it since the storm was in April and we closed on the home in May. C&J was most helpful in sending us whatever documents we needed so we could get our money back from the previous owners. Our pump works great and we owe it all to George and the rest of the C&J gang!
Description of Work: We wanted to buy a house in Washington Township and the water was running just fine at inspection. Then the hail storm hit in April. We closed on the first Friday in May and we went to the house right after closing and could not get water out of the faucet. The pump had died due to electrical problems from the storm.

+ -1 moreArrived back to Indy only to find that the wires shorted and burned which meant we had no water. I contacted C&J on Saturday morning. They were prompt - George came by as soon as his schedule would permit and fixed the problem in 35 minutes. They were prompt and helped us to once again have our water supply back! George was great...he was fair, honest and shot it straight with the issue. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced shorted and burned wires that powered the water well pump.

+ -1 moreGeorge of C&J advised me through an ordeal with a company I had hired. At the time I hired them I was unaware that the company was shady and not running above board. After the first company installed my new well pump, they left me with dirty, grit filled unusable water and no water pressure. George sent a crew out and they cleaned my well and replace my pressure tank and switch. My water was nearly perfect when they left and by that night was perfect. I am very grateful to George for coaching me through dealing with the first company. At the time, his company did not even stand to make any money. When I did hire him to fix the dirty water, George even offered to dispose of 150ft of steel pipe that the first company neglected to take or come back for, which they promised to do. My experience with C&J was wonderful (to say the least). I am very grateful to have clean, usable water again. Thanks George for being so kind and considerate.

+ -1 moreWhen our pump broke, our neighbor allowed us to run a hose between our houses. When Josh came to estimate the job, he took an extra 30 minutes to reconfigure our hose to run through our water softener and refused any compensation for his time. The city water hook-up was done during 90 degree heat, yet the excavators and Josh were always polite, kept a great sense of humor, and went out of their way to explain all the procedures and answer questions. I would hire them again in a minute and would recommend them highly. Our neighbor hood is due for sewer hook-up in a year or so and I hope this company gets the job. The excavating company is ''R & R Excavating Plus, Elijah Heminger, 317-696-3428.
Description of Work: Our well pump broke and Josh Abdnour (C&J) with R & R Excavating Plus, hooked us to city water and capped our well. Machines were used to drill under our yard and street causing minimal cosmetic changes to our lawn. The street had to be "cut" to tap into the water main. The street repair is quite professional. The water pipe was run through our crawl space and into the basement. They installed a whole house water filter as well.

+ -1 moreI called C&J at about 7:30 in the morning on a Thursday. They said they couldn't get to us until the next day. When I told them that I was off Thursday and would appreciate it if they could get out that day, they said they would try to fit us in. They called back a couple hours later and said they would fit us in on Thursday. The guys were here until late into the evening fixing our problem. Their thoughtfulness saved me an extra day missed from work. Thank you C&J!
Description of Work: We had a drastic drop in water pressure. Over the phone, C&J said that the problem was probably a hole in a pipe. In the initial phone conversation, they gave us an estimate that was very close to the actual price. They replaced the pipe and blew out the well. An FYI to customers who have their wells blown out is to turn on the bypass to your softeners, etc. Also, change your filters frequently for the first few days.

+ -1 moreGeorge and one of his colleagues completed the work efficiently and explained what they would do. They were done in about an hour. From an effectiveness perspective, the purpose of the cleaning was to remove a ''rotten egg'' smell in the water. The well cleaning effectivelly took care of it (it has been 1 week), and I hope that this will be a lasting solution. From a price perspective, I found it a little ''steep''. I initially thought the work was going to be more complex and longer than it really was, so I agreed to the price when I got the quote over the phone. I should maybe have done a little bit more comparison and research upfront. So it is difficult to say at this point what others would have charged for the same work. Also, I thought there was a 5% discount for Angie's list members. This being said, both Josh (with whom I spoke on the phone to set up the appointment) and George (who did the work) were both professional and courteous.
Description of Work: They cleaned the well by removing pump and blowing compressed air to remove sediments. They brushed well walls and acidified well (with muratic acid). The reason was to remove ''rotten egg'' smell in the water created, as I understand it by iron sediments and a certain type of bacteria.

THE COMPANY DID ALL NECESSARY DETAILS WITH CITY AND WATER COMPANY. THEY RAN A COPPER PIPE FROM STREET TO HOUSE COMING UP UNDER GARAGE FLOOR, THEY HIT THE MARK PERFECTLY. THEY PATCHED THE HOLE IN FLOOR AND WALL WHERE THEY WENT FROM THE WALL TO THE PREVIOUS SITE OF TANK. MADE THEIR CONNECT. NO DRIPPING FROM NEW CONNECTION. AGAIN CLEANED UP. ALSO DUG OUT WELL CONCRETE LINER. CAPPED OFF WELL, FILLED IN HOLE WITH DIRT LEAVING A NEAT, CLEAN SITE.

They even came back out and flushed the line and put in a new valve to clear the water which seemed to have solved the problem. Very pleasant to work with and very responsive and told me to call should I have any other problems.
Description of Work: I had a new well dug and a holding tank and pump. They drilled the well approx. 120 ft. They also took out the old tank.

+ -1 moreI only called C&J because they were on the top of the list. George came out the same day I called. Every time the price had to go up, it was cleared with me and my options were explained. I was afraid that I would be in for a new pump by the time they pulled everything up (because I have recently bought the house and did not know the condition of the pump and my well is practically an antique). Fortunately, a new pump was unnecessary. I am definitely pleased with their work and would recommend them to anyone looking for help with their well. I found everyone to be very knowledgeable and helpful, from the person answering the phones to the workers themselves. A great asset to the area. The price isn't the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive. I am firm believer that you get what you pay for and it has been more expensive for me in the long run to go with the cheapest quote. I recommend this company without hesitation.
Description of Work: Pressure cleaned my well, used acid and a brush to clean out corrosion, raised the well head, installed new pipe and wire, chlorine treated the well.

+ -1 moreGeorge and his assistant were very pleasant and answered all of my questions. They called ahead to let me know that they were running a little behind on a previous job, and still were not late by more than 15 or 20 minutes. The guys had to do a little extra work during the well blow out when some of the existing well components that were not of the best quality broke and had to be replaced, but I was not charged extra for this. A second crew come out the next day and completed the installation, but George and his assistant made sure we were back up and running with water before leaving the first night.
Description of Work: We contracted with C&J to install a constant pressure variable speed well pump system for our renovation project. The system installed was the Grundfos 1 1/2hp SQE pump with pressure transducer, system controller and expansion tank. We have a very high water demand for a custom shower installation and C & J talked to me at length about various options I had researched and what the benefits and drawbacks of each were. We decided that we should have our well ''blown out'' and checked to ensure it was capable of delivering water to our requirements. George was very clear in telling us that if the well were not capable of supplying enough water he wouldn't sell us a system that wouldn't perform for us. The well checked out fine, the cost of blowing out the well ($650) was applied to the total system cost, and they gave us the Angie's List discount. The cost included the system and complete installation, with tie-in to our existing plumbing. I also got a new well cap to replace my old one.

Prices and services were clearly explained beforehand, work was performed in a professional and timely manner, and personnel were pleasant. They left kind of a mess, but who wouldn't when drilling a well? Price a little higher than competitors, but worth it for the quality of service. The constant pressure system is a new world in our old house! Thanks for everything!

At this point I didn't know if I was having a pump, a relay box , or a pressure tank issue. Anyway, I called the same day that this happened and to my surprise, I had a two man crew come out that afternoon. They arrived exactly on time. LC walked me though each step of what they were going to do before each step was completed. He answered all of my questions and even taught me about the processes along the way! The whole process only took about an hour to an hour and a half. I am very grateful for this company's timeliness, responsiveness, and quality of work. I would highly recommend this company to other individuals and will use them in the future! THANK YOU!
Description of Work: Well pump was replaced along with new pipe and wire leading to the pump. Water line was flushed as well. Problem found was that the pump had corroded and had quite a large hole leading out from the pump. I had been running on minimal water pressure and very sulfurous smelling water for quite some time. So this was a blessing in disguise. I now have water pressure and non-smelling water!

George was very nice, and a person you could trust with your home and contents without worry. This is a follow-up message after a few months. Previous to C & J, we had work done, but shortly thereafter, we felt gypped. The well work by C& J has exceeded all expectations. The well water comes through a 5 micron filter that we used to change every month. The filter is 4 months old and still does not need to be changed. One less thing to work on or worry about.
Description of Work: Removed 5 year old pump that was very close to failing, blew out the well, and installed a new all stainless steel grundors pump.

He educated me on what type of quality work he performs and what would be lesser quality work with respect to material quality. I chose not to go with C and J because I obtained a quote for much less that included the same level of quality work. C and J would have been able to take care of my out of water issue within the time needed as well. All in all it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend C and J for any well work and would consider them for any future work if needed.
Description of Work: George came to diagnose and give an estimate for the work that might be needed to repair my out of water situation. He came when he said he would. He was able to diagnose the issue down to one of two issues before leaving. He did some additional checks outside with the well to confirm this. I paid 80$ for the service call and the estimate was around 1800 dollars

C & J DID SOME ADDITIONAL TESTING AND FOUND THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPAIR FOR UNDER $350. THE REPLACEMENT PUMP WOULD HAVE COST US $2000 AND THE PUMP REPLACEMENT WOULD NOT HAVE SOLVED OUR PROBLEM. THE PUMP IS WORKING FINE. I WOULD CALL THEM BACK. HE WAS PROACTIVE AND ASKED ME IF I WAS AN ANGIE'S LIST MEMBER AND GAVE ME THE ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT.
