I am hesitant to give a review because I am afraid of the man who owns the company and I don’t want him to know that I give him a bad review. It was merely harassment and very mean attitude. It was harassment for my daughter. I had to force him to finish the work by withholding payment. I had to go to a lawyer. I think they are very biased against older people and women. I am 79 years old. They frighten and intimidate women. I don’t think a normal person will do that. The price was very high and was not worth it. We bought our own toilet and fixtures. The work was average but the attitude was a failure.
Description of Work: I used the company called “Aim To Please Plumbing & Electric”. I had him do work in my daughter’s home. They re-modeled the bathroom.

Response from Aim To Please Plumbing & Electric
Rather than get involved in a very public spat let me, the owner of Aim To Please Plumbing & Electric, say that we all have unique personalities. It seems to be impossible for me to mesh with 100% of humanity. We debated whether to take on this particular project due to the yellow flags that popped up during the negotiating process. Now we have designated some of these flags as red rather than yellow. Please follow my line of thought here. When we (clients and contractors alike) meet, there is a "dance", we do to get to know one another. Then we sleep on the experience to decide whether we want to do business together. Contractors rarely hear from the lost clients about why it fell apart. Clients sometimes don't hear from contractors either, for various reasons. My policy of notifying the potential client that we do not want to do business with them is rarely met with understanding, so I don't do it often. I will usually give a generic comment about personality clash. Well, this happens to be one where we went against our better judgement and engaged the client anyway. Although the project was beautiful when finished, the experience was not. Cheers, ~Alan Meeker BTW: I was on site only on the first and last days of the project and never met the client. Our crew was there every day for four weeks sloshing through the March mud over a temporary sidewalk they built. March muddness was terrible, yet they took their shoes off dozens of times each day to keep the home clean as possible.

The initial attempt was met with some failure, and the big gun needed to be called in, but Alan and his knowledge and experience came in handy with a special tool that was able to remove the old cartridge with relative ease. Joshua and Matthias were very professional and courteous and I would definitely call them again.

Excellent work! Prompt, quick and very reasonable. Note: a previous customer review complained that the repairman smelled bad and they were unhappy with the service. My experience was just opposite. For the record, both of the two plumbers who helped me were 'odorless'.

It has stopped working so they came out and messed around with it and decided that i was bad. The only thing I didn't like about it was then, they had to get back in their truck and go back across town to their place and pick up the sump pump; and I assume there is probably all different sizes and types and stuff, but that just irked me a little bit because I'm like well, you're charging me for you going back getting the piece that I'm going to be paying for. Other than that, I didn't even think that was outrageous, it was just a little irritating.

We're so happy to respond to this member's review. We also regret that we cannot carry every kind of sump pump around on our trucks. Most people do not know the difference between sewage, effluent, and water pumps. That's ok though, we're here to do that for you. There is no charge for running for parts, unlike all our competitors. It seems to be part of the reason they operate out of pickups or little vans. You've seen our massive step vans, and likely heard Alan's a-ooga horn as he merrily goes about town. Don't worry, be happy. Pico mojado!

Provider was only at my home for 10-15 minutes. It did not go well. First of all his body odor was terrible; almost made me sick to my stomach! It was at the end of the work day so I assume he had been working all day but he smelled worse than one day at work. My guess is he had not showered for few days. Secondly, he was a bit of a bully in our conversation. I wanted to replace all trim in both baths in my home. I had purchased new Moen faucets, shower, etc. to replace the old Delta products after spending considerable time at Home Depot store working with salesperson who told me these products are interchangeable with Delta. When the provider arrived, he immediately said I would also need new plumbing and he would have to tear up the wall to get to the pipes. I told him I did not want to do that, but only wanted to replace the "trim" and explained my experience at Home Depot. He responded to that comment with some energy saying "Did you talk to a plumber? Was the person at Home Depot a licensed plumber?" I understood what he was saying and don't disagree with his point but I experienced the way he responded as condescending and patronizing. We went back and forth for a few minutes and he could see that I was becoming quite upset. I think that is why he went to his truck to get the plumbing that he said I needed. While he was gone from my presence I was able to think more clearly and when he returned I was able to ask him the $64,000 question, which was "Are you saying the plumbing currently in the house is too old and therefore no new trim products will work with it?" To which he answered "yes". EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH EASIER IF HE WOULD ONLY HAVE SAID THAT IN THE BEGINNING! Don't know why he didn't explain that when he first saw the bath fixtures. That would have saved both of us much frustration!!
Description of Work: Provider came to my home to give estimate. Arrived 20-30 minutes later than scheduled but did call to say he was on the way. Made no apologies for running late.

Please read this response............... We met this member on our first "Casual Friday" dressed as Mario and Luigi. The member's service call went well. Part of it was to reverse the hot/cold on her shower; piece of cake, took minutes. But imagine calling out a service company and they send out two costumed as Mario and Luigi...........it could get ugly if the call goes badly. Everything went well that day, thank God. Anyway, we had fun and were stopped for photos by strangers several times. One time was when we went into Target to get a long sleeved green shirt for Luigi. This desperate grandmother begged us to wait for her grandson to get there for a chance to meet the real Mario and Luigi. Soon we saw him coming in his father's arms with mom and an aunt in tow. He was so embarrassed to be the center of attention that his photo taken with us has him with his eyes closed! I don't think he even got to see our faces. One look at us and he buried his face in daddy's shoulder. Now that is what we look forward to each day; being someone's hero (even if we look silly doing it;) Cheers, ~Alan

I have used the Aim to Please people several times over the years for both plumbing and electrical work. They give you an estimate and then stick to that price, even if the work goes beyond what they thought. They show up on time and seem genuinely interested in doing a good job.
Description of Work: In November, they replaced two toilets. They had to tear out a soggy, ruined subfloor in one bathroom and reinstall a floor and floor covering. I have used Aim to Please for both plumbing and electrical projects in the past as well.

Everything went well except their quote was an unbelievably high $3225.00 I say high because I received two other quotes for the same work, both from reputable contractors, and from one that I had used before, and their quotes were $700 and $875 respectively. Based on reviews, I am sure Aim to Please does good work, but I decided to write this review so anyone reading it would be sure to get at least 3 quotes from reputable contractors.
Description of Work: Aim to Please showed up to my home for a quote in early December 2014. They were on time, friendly and professional. They no quoted my flooring but did provide a quote to install a fiberglass tub and surround (top portion) that I was supplying. The work would consist of them removing my old tub and installing the new tub I was supplying. Their quote also included them adding one row of tile around the tub in lieu of refinishing the drywall repair that would be needed.

The member is correct, one should get an idea of the cost of a project before proceeding. Sometimes we miss something in the bidding process and must bite the bullet for pricing poorly. Please note, though, our bids are fixed; if we agree on a price, it will not change at the end of a project........unless the client has added changes to the project. See, the client is in charge of changes, not us.

Josh and Malachi were courteous, professional, and -- most importantly -- clearly took a great deal of pride in their work. They removed and disposed of all the old bathroom components, put in the new ones, patched up some drywall, added some really sharp-looking tile around the new shower, and then took care of all the small finishing touches. They even hung the new shower curtain for us! When Malachi and Josh ran into unexpected issues (including one EXTREMELY not-square wall!), they were able to quickly devise creative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing solutions. They completed the job in slightly less time than estimated (4.5 days instead of 5), and they worked hard to ensure that every detail was just right. We appreciated that they kept the area clean and took off their snowy shoes, even when carrying heavy things into the house. We are completely satisfied with the results and would not hesitate to contact Aim to Please for a future plumbing or electrical need. Note: The total price we paid included the new toilet and shower that Aim to Please supplied, so the actual labor cost is less. We ordered the vanity and sink ourselves, and Aim to Please graciously transported it to our house from the store.
Description of Work: We hired Aim to Please to completely remodel our bathroom. This involved removing the old shower/tub, toilet, vanity, sink, and accessories (towel bars, etc) and replacing them with new ones.

Thank you for the kudos. We love and appreciate Josh and Malachi too. If we could only clone them ;) Well, we're going to try by hiring Malachi's brother-in-law, Matthias. If he takes their lead and develops great problem solving skills like them there will be more happiness in the world. Really, we are just a reflection of the attitude expressed by our clients. Our happy, cheerful clients are a pleasure to (work for) (assist with problem solving) (make their life just a little more comfortable). Cheers all around!

Noticed cabinet floor was wet. Aim to Please was able to come out the next day. What I appreciated was the education on fixing the particular type of faucet we had (difficulty in finding parts that fit) and on what brands they recommended for replacing it based on warranties, quality of product. They gave me a couple of choices and stores nearby that would carry these brands. I then got to make the choice of store and product, which I appreciated. They were able to finish the job quickly and things have worked well since.

From start to finish Aim to Please demonstrated top-notch professionalism, expertise and positive attitude. Malachi and Joshua were punctual, abundantly cheerful and communicative, and extraordinarily skilled. When other plumbers had suggested much more complicated and elaborate solutions to our problems, Malachi with "Aim to Please" submitted a more straightforward and less costly way to achieve a positive result. Based on other quotes and bids, we had been prepared for much more extensive work with chaos and after effects. A simple, successful solution with lower costs - what's not to like? "Aim to Please" provided a total positive experience with a refreshingly straightforward approach. We appreciate that! We also value having people in our home who are positive to be around, communicate well, and seem to enjoy what they're doing. We can't recommend Malachi and Joshua highly enough. I only wish we had known about them sooner! And from what they told us, "Aim to Please" also does electrical work as well, which is great to know!
Description of Work: They replaced an old cast iron drain pipe, that easily clogged, with a new PVC drain. In addition, they unclogged a floor drain that other plumbers told us could not be unclogged. Josh and Malachi unclogged in an hour what 2 other plumbing companies said would require either a sump pump or a new drain to provide drainage. Both of these solutions would have required tearing out part of the basement floor. We paid them gladly $215 for what had been estimated by others to cost between $850 to $1,500 to accomplish. Their replacement of the cast iron drain pipe also cost significantly less than other quotes.

Called to let me know they were on their way. A few mins late but no big deal. Light fixture replace my went off without a hitch. Andrew (learning tech) followed directions and was able to work independently while the lead tech assessed and addressed the possessed drain. They drain issue remains a mystery but the hall light fixture is up and functioning. They were good about cleaning up and were friendly and professional. I would hire them again! Pricing seemed a little higher than I would have liked but I was aware of the rates beforehand so no surprises.

I called on a Tuesday and was able to set up an appointment for that Friday. Malachi and Joshua were the service techs who came to replace the broken garbage disposal. They were courteous and introduced themselves by first name upon arrival. They called ahead to ask if it would be ok if they came earlier than scheduled. (WOW...coming early instead of me having to wait around for them!) They were in and out in approximately 30 minutes. Even though it was raining and they had to go in and out a few times to get items, they did not make a mess by tracking stuff into my house. They cleaned up after themselves and took the broken disposal with them so I didn't have to figure out what to do with it. This was the 4th time I have used Aim to Please and they have always done great work. Plus, they give a discount to repeat customers. You cannot beat that in today's economy!

The two-man crew arrived exactly on time. They were very polite, knowledgeable, and courteous. They showed me that my old disposal was rusted out and needed to be replaced. They had a new disposal in their truck and were able to install it, as they predicted, in about 45 minutes. They tested the unit, cleaned up, invoiced me, were paid, and left. The entire experience was entirely positive. The names of the plumbers sent were: Malachi Meeker and Joshua Brinegar.

Joshua and Andrew installed an exterior faucet for us; the also checked the condition of another exterior faucet. They arrived on time, were pleasant and professional in manner, and completed the work quickly and neatly. I was very impressed with the workmanlike condition of the faucet installation. It was necessary for them to cut a hole in one of our walls due to the location of the faucet. They did so in such a way that it can be easily hidden with a grate, requiring no new drywall. They also examined an existing faucet that we had questions about and determined that it was fine. I have marked the service as a having a 'B' for price, not because I thought it was high, but because I have no means to compare it to what others might have charged. I viewed the price as fair, neither high nor low. I recommend them and will definitely use Aim to Please Plumbing when we next are in need of plumbing service.

Two young men arrived on time; they were professional looking and courteous. They removed their shoes on entering the house. They explained what they were doing (with the plumbing mainly) and also explained why I had difficulty in changing the fluorescent tubes myself, even the ones in the easier to reach places. They worked efficiently and finished in a reasonable amount of time. They seemed truly proud of the work they were doing and I was delighted, because it was a small job, and I always hesitate calling on anyone for relatively small job, but they were happy to do the work.

I've been using Aim to Please for a few years now and I think I've met every one of the employees, plus the owner! Today, I had 2 old toilets removed and replaced with new ones. The total cost was $953.50 which included the new toilets and supply lines, labor for 2 individuals, and removal of the old equipment. Andrew and Josh were very professional and work well together so that the time spent on the installation was as minimal as possible. Josh kept me informed on the progress, double-checked with me on decisions needed to be made and explained all unusual aspects of the job. (My house tends to have many unusual aspects.) Once again, I was pleased with the work done and will continue to recommend the company.
