And again, I've said it all in the statement above!
Description of Work: A guest repaired one of my toilets while his family was visiting two weeks ago. Then the same thing happened to the toilet that I regularly use. The first tank continually overflowed; my tank wouldn't properly fill up. The young man who fixed everything is the son of the owner (a family-run business), and he was absolutely terrific. I would rate this company an A+ if Angie's List had such a category. He replaced the plunger, the part that breaks the most often; but he had to drive to a parts store to get the two other parts from my very old toilet--parts that rarely needed to be replaced. But it had been 40 years, and every 40 years . . .! He showed me both pieces, and they were badly worn down, allowing water to leak from the tank, both down the drain and through the toilet, causing leakage on the floor. I had noticed for at least the last several years that the toilet would flush in the middle of the night. Last fall his dad had done a fine job of rewiring two of my favorite reading lamps, giving them new sockets and bright, energy-saving bulbs. They worked beautifully, lighting up my two favorite reading chairs. On one lamp, however, the shade would slip down onto the light bulb--having a slightly different socket. Malachi (you can't help loving a young man named Malachi!) got out his pliers and broadened the upper part of the socket so that the lampshade would stay in its place and not slide down onto the bulb. Incidentally, while he was here, Malachi checked the other two toilets and told me they were in good shape. This is just a super company!

Alan was awesome. He was able to come over to my house and fix a kitchen faucet issue within about 2 hours. He was punctual, very nice, and even gave me a tip on buying a better replacement faucet. So, we took a trip to the hardware store together and made the purchase. Alan was great and I highly recommend!

Saturday afternoon I was shocked to see water streaming from the water heater. We figured out how to stop the water flow but were without hot water all weekend. Monday morning, I called Aim to Please, they came out within an hour, and an hour and a half later, we had hot water. It costs exactly what was estimated and they were very professional. THANK YOU!

I had used Aim to Please for plumbing work and had a good experience. I had the same with the electrical.
Description of Work: The Aim to Please technician arrived promptly and set to work installing a replacement ceiling fan and two light fixtures. Midway through the install, two additional technicians came to help out. Between the three of them, they worked quickly, efficiently and professionally.

Well......I'm sorry the member did not address any problems 24 months ago. It is our intent to keep all who call on us as clients. For anyone reading this post, we do not want to dictate your taste, it is rare for us to install a faucet we happen to have on board the truck. There are so many out there. We commonly install most customer-supplied faucets. Exceptions do occur when it is not practicable to install a faucet not meant for a specific sink. We would like to invite the member to schedule a free call so we may sort out the member's concerns to a satisfactory conclusion.

Malachi came and probed my drains and cleared a blockage. Unfortunately, a leak recurred several weeks later. Malachi promptly returned and cleared up the additional problem which turned out to be an improperly performing drain connection for no additional charge. He was pleasant and professional and even personable. I would definitely use their services again but hope I don't have to!

Alan and Evan were prompt and professional when they arrived and immediately went to work on our problems. Though the source of the leak into the lower level was not clearly discovered, Alan installed a new valve for the refrigerator upstairs to have easier access and hopefully take care of the water damage occurring to the ceiling on the lower level. Only time will tell if the problem was solved but Alan was reassuring in that he would come back for any further work needed there. Both men were pleasant even when things were not going well, such as noticing more leaks than mentioned, having to go into the crawl space which is very difficult to access, and the refrigerator could not be moved due to the flooring and cabinets. I found it easy to trust them and will call Alan for any future work or recommend this company to others.
Description of Work: Replaced three valves in various areas: under the kitchen sink, under the refrigerator, under the ice machine. Fixed a leaking faucet at kitchen sink. Fixed a leaking valve in the crawl space. Inspected area between floors for a possible leak and rerouted plumbing to refrigerator from floor below Found leak of condensation overflow pipe from air conditioner/furnace going into crawl space; recommended coming back to correct the problem and have air conditioner/furnace cleaned and inspected.

A big THANK YOU to all who post a review. We can see how the Golden Rule works in real time. The internet and Angie have made us acutely aware that we make random memories for people. Service was extremely courteous; explanation of problem and repair needed was clear. The serviceman (Malachi?) removed his shoes without being asked as soon as he entered the house. He was friendly, articulate and really seemed to be knowledgeable, and he explained why he was using the replacement parts he chose. We will definitely call Aim to Please in the future (and we have used at least 4 other plumbing contractors in Bloomington , so we have shopped around).

This fantastic crew came in and swiftly installed a toilet, hung new lighted vanity mirror/lights, installed a wall sliding shower assembly, washing machine water access line and corrected the washer drainage. They also installed a tilted outdoor faucet making it MUCH easier to connect hoses for lawn care. They were extremely professional, courteous and CLEAN. Shoes/boots were always removed when they entered the house to prevent tracking of dirt (and they made a lot of in/out trips). One thing that struck me was the integrity shown when I asked to have them replace/upgrade the water pipes in the crawl space. They advised me that this had already been done. Another contractor could easily have given me an estimate, and "done the job" while performing no installation (thereby pocketing the full amount as profit).
Description of Work: They replaced a toilet, installed a sliding shower assembly, bathroom vanity mirror and lighting. Additionally, they installed a 220 line for our hot tub (including a separate emergency power cut off.

Everything went great, from the demolition to completion. We had the worst layout in the bathrooms, and he redesigned them wonderfully. We are pleased with his ideas, fast and great work, and the wonderful attitude of him and his employee.
Description of Work: When we purchased a repo home, we knew we wanted to completely remodel the bathrooms first. Alan came to help us decide how to do the bathroom layouts. He had a genious idea that we went with. After everything was torn out of both bathrooms, walls were moved, electrical was done, all water and drain lines put in, the bathroom fixtures were installed. He ordered our tub and shower and installed them as soon as they were delivered. Before we knew it, he was done! He also installed a new water heater, washer and dryer, which we moved to another location and he had to reroute water lines and install electric outlet(?) for the dryer. Some other things came up that we didn't expect. We had Aim To Please take care of these also: He replaced our water lines that were all bad and installed a shut off valve we can access easily. We got new sink baskets and drains in our kitchen sink and water line to our fridge.

This young family accepted our bid and put trust in our crew. We had a key and came and went as we needed. When the family tired of traveling to another place to go potty, we had a portable one set until the job was done. It took two weeks for two baths, laundry room move, total drain replacement, total water line replacement and water heater move. They were painting the house while we worked on the baths, etc. They painted the baths too. As things came up to get in the way, we just powered on through; and in the end the project did not cost any more than the bid. In two weeks, this family endeared themselves into our hearts, no wonder we got a rave review!

Aim to Please arrived on time as scheduled (actually 10 min early). They both removed their shoes and went immediately to work fixing my toilet then installing a garbage disposal. Malachi was personable and readily answered my questions about the repair and the installation. He also gave me tips on keeping the disposal top notch condition. Once the disposal was installed, they cleaned the mess from the pipes dripping and left everything neat and tidy. The entire visit took less that 2 hours which surprised me.

Yes, let's imagine....his water heater died Christmas Eve. There was no shower or wake, but the corpse is lying in state in the back of my truck for the weekend until its interrment on Monday next. There was considerable mourning for the water heater, but no tears. It died at the ripe old age of 21. Guests were coming to help them mourn. I arrived quickly to remove the carcass out the back door so no one would be offended by the manner of removal (due to the snow the carcass was slid down the back stair case of the balcony). Keeping my shoes off in the house so as to leave no tracks was difficult but in the end none of the guests could tell I had been there! Whoo hoo! I was indeed in a good mood; always am when working under the influence of schmooze;)

It was a totally satisfactory, and enlightening, experience. Both plumbers were courteous and very helpful. They seemed eager to help us solve each of the problems we mentioned and to make sure we were happy with the solutions. Their charge was quite reasonable, and we will definitely have them come back--next time to reseat a toilet left by our builder with a shim to keep it from rocking (but not leaking).
Description of Work: Malachi and his associate repaired a broken kitchen faucet, adjusted (tightened) faucets on a bathtub, and provided us with the explanation for a troubling noise in the seldom used bathtub in a guest bathroom. (Since water seldom flowed down the drain of the tub, gases built up and, when we flushed the nearby toilet, caused a terrifc noise in the pipes under the tub! Solution: run water in the bathtub at least once a week.)

Thank you for the review. FYI: An employee mentioned in an Angie's List report gets a roll of dollar coins and kudos at the company's morning meeting. So, Malachi thanks you too! Let me also announce to the world, Malachi is a new daddy. Danielle (Danni) arrived on Monday, November 29, 2010. She is a seven week preemie. Wish him well when he comes to your home.

I had a refrigerator in my garage that kept tripping my GFCI switch. Alan came out and replaced the outlet with a new one and even gave me a night light to show that it was working. It worked perfectly for five months and then started tripping again. He came out again, and this time did some creative thinking to get my fridge up and running. He explained everything he did and didn't charge me a thing. I was so impressed with the company that I also had quite a bit of plumbing work done by them on another occasion. The family that owns and runs this business is bright, efficient, and honest, and I will chose them every time I need a plumber or electrician.

The first two plumbers, 10/12/2010, did a good job replacing the toilet. They did a good job on putting in the quarter turn shutoffs. They did a good job on the hot water leak. They did a questionable job replacing the cold water stem; they apparently damaged a plastic seal in doing the work. The second plumber, 10/29/2010, replaced the ring and that stopped the cold water leak. I managed to call the kitchen faucet manufacturer, Blanco, and was told that the loose nut does not require a special tool. I had a handyman come out and got the job done. I received a letter from Aim to Please! on 11/1/2010 saying that "...we have a personality conflict." Without detailing any specifics regarding the "conflict," the letter ended with a request for me to "Please call one of our competitors in the future." I am totally baffled by the letter. I have no idea when or with whom a conflict was perceived.
Description of Work: 1. Diagnosed toilet problem as bad design. Recommend better design. Installed new, better designed toilet. 2. Diagnosed leaky hot water valve in bathroom sink. Replaced hot water and cold water stems. Installed quarter-turn hot water and cold water shutoffs under bathroom sink. Hot water leak was fixed. Cold water valve began to leak after plumber left. 3. Diagnosed low output in kitchen sink faucet. Removed a filter from spray head. It solved the problem. Recommended replacing the faucet with better quality faucet. 4. Was unable to tighten the under-sink nut on the kitchen faucet on-off valve. Said it required a special tool. 5. Second (different) plumber 17 days later repaired the leaking bathroom faucet cold water. 6. Second plumber looked at loose kitchen sink faucet nut and said it would require a special tool to tighten it.

I have used this company three times now, and have been very pleased each time. They are professional, punctual, courteous, and do what is necessary for a good repair. They are not out to get you! For the sump pump repair, they came, analysed the problem, and obtained the proper sump pump before the supplier closed for the day. The pump works just fine. My most recent repair involved (I thought) replacing the hot water shutoff valve under the kitchen sink, which was leaking. The plumber arrived on time, took a look at the valve, tightened a loose nut, as well as nuts of oher valves under the sink--repair done! He showed me what to tighten on occasion myself, and charged me NOTHING! Again, they are not out to ransack your wallet! I felt compelled to write this review--Aim To Please has been great for me, and surely have my vote of confidence when it comes to plumbing repairs.

The Aim to Please crew is top notch. They are complete professionals who have respect for you and your home who do quality work each and every time. They go the extra mile to make sure that things are done the right way the first time, explaining any problems or situations that they come upon completely. We have been impressed each time they have come for a project in our home with their work and their work ethic. Alan and his crew are outstanding and we truly appreciate the work they have done for us. We have had other plumbers/electricians in our home, but we have never felt this good about the work that they have done. I gave them a key to my home to work on this project without any fear at all. Their attention to detail is awesome!~ This is not the first time we have used their services and it won't be the last.

I've had Alan out 3-4 times in the last 8 months. I recently bought a house with a large number of problems (the previous owners thought of themselves as some sort of handymen, but took shortcuts and did shoddy work). The first time I had Alan out, he did about $1300 worth of work on a Friday, including the work on the sump pump drain. The next night (Saturday), I noticed that the sump pump was running but the water wasn't going down any. I gave Alan a call on his emergency number, and he came out that night to get it fixed. He noticed that the filter for the pump was plugged up, scraped it clean, and said, "No charge, I should have checked that yesterday." The next night (Sunday) at 10pm, I realized the water was still going up, this time touching the very bottom of my furnace, so I gave Alan another call. He came out around 10:30pm and worked for 2 hours (until 12:30am) to get it fixed. He ended up giving me a new, bigger sump pump, and ran PVC drain pipe for it (very professionally done) across the entire basement to drain it out the drywell on the other side of the house. He then went and told me, "No charge, I should have done it right the first time." Alan stands by his work, and won't charge you for coming back to fix his own work (which rarely needs fixing to begin with). All his work is very professionally done, and he prides himself in focusing on the little details so that he doesn't have to come out a second time. Alan has been my plumber for 8 months or so now, and I will never go with anybody else as long as he's still in business.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking sillcock. Fixed kitchen sink drain so that it connected to the septic tank instead of a dry well. Put airgap in for the water softener drain. Switched sump pump from draining into septic to draining into a drywell. Fixed electrical short in bedroom ceiling fan. Ran propane line to back of house for a grill hookup. Fixed burst pipe under sink. Capped off old plumbing for bathroom prior to remodel. After demolition, came back and installed washer box, water/drain hookups for pedestal sink, and outlet for dryer.

We had a pipe leaking underground and I saw all of the positive reviews for Aim to Please Plumbing & Electric here on Angie's List, so they were my first call. A lovely woman answered the phone, took my information (name, address, telephone number), and told me that someone would be out to my house between 3 and 4pm. When 4:30 came and went with no one arriving, I called again. The woman who had answered my initial call said "he isn't there yet? Usually he calls me if he'll be late. I'll call him and get back to you". She called back a few minutes later and left me a voicemail (I was unable to speak to her) stating the plumber was on his way and "that's why I didn't give you a specific time--I wasn't sure how long the other job would take". The plumber did show up at the house moments later (about 4:40) and we had to apologize and tell him that we'd already secured another plumber. The plumber from Aim to Please told us that he was not told a time to be at our home and apologized. I appreciate that the situation was handled professionally, but there clearly needed to be more communication betweeen the plumber and the office. I was given a specific time frame--between 3 and 4 pm. Of course I do understand that jobs can take longer than expected, but I do not think it unreasonable to be informed of any delays. I cannot comment on the work done or pricing of Aim to Please Plumbing and Electric. I can only comment on the interaction I had and the issue with punctuality.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback; it is invaluable. Angie's List is powerful, we see it regularly and wish more would post ratings. Perhaps others would like to know that on this home we replaced the main water line from outside to the utility room under a slab without a jackhammer. We've done that (in this client's neighborhood) several times in the last year. Angie's watching us.........and we're happy about it.

He wanted to deliver his estimate in person. He let us know that they like these types of jobs, and that they always look to find the best way to do them. He assured me them sitting down scratching their head was normal. I had someone else rough in and trim it out for $3,600. I feel their price was very exorbitant.

Wow, $23,000 is quite a lot to rough in plumbing for a house. It seems we've gotten our wires crossed in the past nine months from the time the bid was submitted to today. Details have been slightly distorted. Thank you for the input. Actual clients have a different perspective.
