They were excellent and I’ve never had so much good luck with service people in my life as I’ve had with them. I even went to the association and recommended them.
Description of Work: Aim to Please Plumbing & Electric fixed a leak in the drain line of my air conditioner. They also changed a light switch for me and drilled a whole in the wall to fix the leakage of the dehumidifier in the basement.

It went so much better than I thought it would. I thought I had some serious problems that was going to be an expensive proposition, so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out otherwise. But I was vulnerable and an unethical contractor could have easily taken advantage of the situation. Allen and Aim To Please are honest, ethical and trustworthy.
Description of Work: I had two problems: plumbing and electrical. Aim To Please filled the bill in both areas, rather than having to hire two contractors. They unclogged my kitchen drain -- it was clogged back in the wall and under the house. They also tightened up my gargabe disposal. Outlet in the bathroom turned out to be a simple fix at the breaker box, but it was significant to me. Allen is wonderful -- very helpful and personable. I will definitely use them again, if needed.

As descirbed in services performed.
Description of Work: I called this company to evaluate/repair water that was leaking into my garage from the concrete slab as well as a leaking hot water pipe in a bathroom. They tapped off the hot water pipe in the bathroom and gave me an estimate of $1500.00 to repair which they said would involve running a water line through my attic rather than going through concrete slab flooring. The leaking water in the garage they felt was due to a "bad" drain assembly behind the washer in the laundry closet in the house. They replaced this drain assembly (J connector) for a fee of $225.00. An hour after they left, the washing machine was used and water continued to leak into the garage from the very same area from the foundation. I called the company immediately and they quickly returned to re-evaluate the leak. I was told by the service person who I believe was Malachi, that it looked as if I "had a very serious situation" involving a leak under the foundation and it would involve "major" repair and expense. He said it would require taking up the wood flooring in the house and drilling through the concrete slab and possibly take a week or two to complete. He also told me he would take some additional measurements and then email an estimate on the repair within a few days. I never received this estimate but would not have used this company anyway to take care of the repair. The leak in the garage turned out to be a bad sewer pipe which my washing machine would drain into when in use. Another established local plumbing company took care of this repair (for a very reasonable price) by replacing the sewer line and did so without disrupting anything inside the house. The hot water line in the bathroom was repaired for $200.00 and did not require the line to be run through the attic which I was informed by several professionals that you NEVER want to do because of the risk for freezing and breaking. I did not receive a bill from this company until 3 months after their visit. The total charge was $256.75. I sent them $100.00 one week after receiving the bill and a few days later received a "notice of intent" to pursue collection of the charges. I called and spoke with the owner about the charges billed as well as never having received a bill. To sum it up, he very begrudgingly agreed to accept my offer of paying half of the charges billed and made no apologies or attempts for any sort of customer recovery for their poor recommendations and service. This proved to be a very unfortunate experience for both parties involved in the long run.

They are clean cut, they don't come in dirty or with their pants hanging down. They can have an adult, casual conversation and you don't feel like they don't know what they are doing. I trust that they won't tell me something's wrong when it's not, as a matter of fact they fixed the leak in my nozzle spray at no charge. They are a little on the pricey side but I'd rather pay the price and have them come in and do the job right.

They were courteous and were considerate of our property. They maintained their composure even if it was so hot outside because that was where they spent most of their time working. They explained what they were doing and some possible features used that I should keep in mind. They pointed out some areas that were not done quite right in the past.

Terrific! Aim to Please was at our house earlier in the year and I just never wrote the review but they were absolutely wonderful. I am actually about to call them for an estimate on another project which reminded me I needed to log on here and give them a review. They actually came the SAME day I called to fix two problems I had been putting off for weeks. Within about 4 hours of my phone call the problems were fixed - truly amazing. As all the other reviews confirm, they are puntcual, take pride in their work and extremely professional. They are just the kind of people you want to deal with in any aspect of your life and all the better if it's your plumber and electrician. I am planning to use them again so of course would highly recommend them to anyone else. No need to look any further (or put off your repairs like I did!) just pick up the phone and give them a call!

I swear, we didn't pay her a cent to say those nice things :) Wouldn't be ethical anyway. But, just the same, we may even send out our model from the Yellow Pages. Nah, we didn't hire a model, Malachi sort of volunteered, sort of. Look forward to meeting this member again.

Got estimate ($375) week before. They went into crawl space to check on things when they did the estimate. Thought it was high, but went ahead. Estimate did not include patching the drywall where the light switch was removed. I knew that, and again thought the price was high considering that, but I can patch it. 2 guys, 2 hours--worked out to $93 an hour each, which I think is very high. The only supplies they used was coax cable--I actually had some, but they had "ordered it" for the job, so I had to pay for it (I don't know what, the job was not itemized). They had not asked me about this, so again, a little irritating. They were prompt, on time, friendly and professional (in their actual work). The lead person (Alan) was actually pretty irritating in his chattiness and telling me how to do things not relating to the job (closing vents in the crawlspace, placement of my TV and everything under the sun). Initially he told me I could not move things where I wanted to, but then did them through the crawlspace. I thought this was pretty weird--the customer wants an outlet, (or doesn't want an outlet), you move it. That is precisely why I hired an electrician. I have also used White's electric, and I may try them again; I think they may be a little cheaper, but not sure. I do think at least they itemize their work, parts, labor, service call charge, and I think Aim To Please should do this as well. It would be nice if there was a locally established labor charge per hour rate. It's hard for me to know if this is considered a reasonable rate or not.
Description of Work: Removal of light switch (removal of box, pulling wire out down through crawl space). Moving thermostat over 8 inches on wall. Moving cable jack across room (again, involved bringing it up from beneath crawl space). I needed these things done because it is a very small space and needs a particular furniture layout to work, so I can use wall space, etc.

Thank you to all members for putting in your two cent's worth. It is invaluable to all, seeing the diversity of our interactions. Alan has a habit of trying to be helpful to people, but he doesn't read faces well ;) Perhaps now he will notice when someone's eyes glaze over when commenting on closing foundation vents. His opinion is that foundation vents are there to suck the a/c from under your home in the summer and let winter's cold in during the winter. Oh, the company's rates are posted on our website for all to see. And, if you get a quote/estimate/bid, the final bill will be exactly that, without regard to hourly rate. It is, frankly, a gamble we both are making, huh? Will the hourly rate save, or the bid? Who knows?

We identified Aim to Please on Angie's list. Before the plumber came I told a co-worker I was having a plumber come. She told me to call Aim to Please. I said I already had. She told me she called them to install a water faucet in the basement. After installing the faucet the plumber noticed that the water heater was installed incorrectly and told her there was a code violation and it should be fixed at once since it was dangerous. The water heater had been recently installed so she called the company owner who come out personally. He was very upset with the installation and said she was very lucky the plumber identified the problem and told her to get it fixed at once. I was quite sure after hearing this I had called the right people to fix my daughter's problem. The work was performed at my daughter's house at 3896 W. Mill Run, Bloomington. I made the calls to schedule service and was present during both service calls.
Description of Work: Dishwasher would not clean dishes. A new one was put in by the appliance store, but the problem was not solved. Another was put in same problem. Appliance repair could not solve the problem. Called Aim to Please and had them check the water lines to and from the dish washer. Lines were okay. The plumber checked out the dish washer and found a valve was put in wrong. Reinstalled the valve--problem solved. A couple of weeks later the dish washer developed a leak. Called Aim to Please. I might add that both times the plumber arrived at the scheduled time, was very personable, and well dressed in a nice looking work outfit. He ran the dishwasher and checked everything out. Determined the leak occurred during the fill cycle and discovered a crack in the washer tub. Since this was a new dish washer he told us to contact the store and request warranty service. The plumber made the service call, identified the problem and did not charge us for the service.

Nathan and Malachi arrived right on time. They quickly assessed what the plumbing issues were and explained what they would need to do to repair them. One faucet was older and "weird" (not surprising in my house) so I was warned that the whole thing might need to be replaced and how much that would likely cost. I told them to go for it. Then, I was surprised that they had figured a way to repair it and a new faucet was not necessary. They could have taken my "go ahead" and run with it replacing the faucet and charging a lot more money. I thank them for being so honest. Nathan told me to try flushing the toilet and it worked fine. This was in a bathroom rarely used by people--only cats. I felt pretty stupid and Nathan said he had had to do the same thing at his house. So nice. I would certainly recommend Aim To Please to anyone who asks!
Description of Work: One dripping faucet in one bathroom and a faucet with the cold water tap putting out a small stream and a toilet with no water in the bowl in another bathroom. The faucets were repaired and I received a lesson in why it is good to flush all toilets now and then! (No repair needed on the lonely toilet.)

Malachi and Nathan couldn't have been more professional or nicer. Really had been trained in what good customer service and respect was all about. Explained to my wife what needed to be done, gave her an estimate on both the cheaper way and the "full repair" option. They started the job on time, completed in about 2 hours , cleaned up after themselves, and were respectful of not getting our house dirty. I told them about the Angies coupon at the last minute and they agreed to come back to do the "free" service at another time which was perfectly fine.

Response from Aim To Please Plumbing & Electric
Well, I researched this project from so long ago, sat down with a cup of coffee, and decided a response is necessary. For those of you who do not know what a yard hydrant is, it is a faucet planted three feet in the ground with a pipe and handle coming up above ground (usually red). They are often used for watering livestock. There are few manufacturers of these things so therefore are pretty generic (all alike). When we are asked to do excavation two men are sent. This protects our men from overwork and has the added benefit of having a back-up in the event one contacts electric power in the ground accidentally. This particular yard hydrant was in a barn behind lumber to protect it from horses. Our men had to disassemble the barrier, excavate, replace the hydrant, and reverse the process. Stomping the soil back into place so the horses would not sink was very important, as was reassembling the barrier. Now, should you think that a pot-hole is all that is necessary to replace an underground fitting, consider that a man must get down to its level, on his knees, to complete a repair. This is quite a hole! It is just over shoulder width, and about 5' long, most of the time. Turning pliers, wrenches, and the like is not something we can do standing on our head and reaching out three feet. We need to get leverage. We cannot be perfect, but we can get to be pretty good at what we do. Please, when you have us out to complete a project for you, hang out, see what we're doing, and you may just gain new appreciation for our trades.

The work was actually electrical, with great philosophical conversation to boot. These people were very professional and ethical, such a hard find nowadays. They had to trace an underground wire into the crawl space, found it spliced, fixed that and restored power to our yard light, after rebuilding it! They also fixed the wiring on our doorbell, cut by a painter(accidentaly) and fixed an outlet with a misterious third wire. As I said,I would, and will, trust them with any work I may need in the future-As all around.
Description of Work: They are very entertaining people. The job was harder than they expected but they did not change the original estimate they had given us. It did not go over. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for plumbing and electrical work.

It went really well. The crawlspace and wall dried out completely and the mold is gone. There have not been any problems with a leak since.
Description of Work: White, fluffy mold was growing in my garage on one wall where the wall meets the floor. I knew something had sprung a leak so I called the plumber. Aim to please showed up on time and took care of the leak in the crawlspace. A water line leading to the icemaker had been chewed open by some sort of critter. The plumbers were able to stop the leak allowing the wall to dry out.

Both Alan and Nathanof Aim To Please were courteous, knowledgeable, and careful -- careful in their work and careful of the house in general (for example, they always removed their shoes before entering the house. In addition to the work described above, they advised me on a couple of future projects (including one that they could have done themselves but advised me that it would be better to have it done by the electricity provider itself). The electrical work was primarily done by Nathan, who was expert and efficient. These folks were very pleasant to work with and live up to their company name. We will certainly use them again in the future.
Description of Work: They performed several different tasks -- primarily installing a new motion-activated security light, installing a light attachment to a ceiling fan, replacing another light fixture, and filling holes in the foundation wall where pipes and electrical wires entered.

Amazingly well. They have our highest praise and highest recommendations every chance I get.
Description of Work: Aim to Please Plumbing offered the best service from a vendor we've ever received. Nathan and Malachai were superb, going far above and beyond the call of duty. These included excavating and boring the ground from the street valve, and extensively replacing corroded galvanized pipe and replumbing the entire water supply. They show up when expected, ready for business. They stick to their estimates, and their efficiency was terrific. Oh, and the owner, Alan, showed up to wield a shovel and be sure everything was going according to plan. Oh, and the excavation included maneuvering around ancient tree roots so as not to damage the tree, at Alan's suggestion.

From the first appointment to discuss the project to this point where the project is nearing completion, the experience has been fantastic. Alan, Nathan, Malachy and the rest of the crew are prompt, courteous, clean, efficient and skilled. There is no time nor labor wasted while these guys are on the job. It is impressive. All of the work has been done to a quality that has exceeded our expectations. We think we are fortunate to have found this company to do the work. The bid was fair and and arrived in just two days. That in itself was amazing and it was a firm bid, not an estimate. The company is very aptly named and they seem to keep the name of the company in mind in all that they do. Their suggestions have been spot on and added style and value as the project developed. Will post a photo of completed job when it is done. Aim To Please has finished their work and the outcome is fantastic. We know they ran into some problems which required a good deal of unplanned time and effort but they willingly went ahead and maintained the bid price. We would recommend this company without any reservation whatsoever. It is so nice to do business with people of integrity and skill.
Description of Work: We are nearing the end of a complete bathroom remodel with Aim to Please doing all of the work. The project was pretty much to take most of the room down to the studs and joists and install a new shower, cabinets, vanity top, necessary plumbing work, repair walls and re-tile, install a new tile floor, install a ceiling fan and vent to outside, paint and, do everything else that goes with a bathroom remodel.

Ryan, the Aim to Please technician, arrived on time, very polite, reviewed the various items we wanted repaired and completed the plumbing tasks in one hour. He cleaned up everything when finished. and then took the 3 lamps back to the shop to replace their switches, returning them a few days later. My only complaint is that the price charged for time, labor and travel seemed a little high, even with a modest discount.
