This is the second time we used Aim to Please Plumbing. We wish we found them years ago. Malachi Meeker and Josh Brinegar arrived exactly at the scheduled time. The first thing that impressed me was their professionalism. They listened closely as I described our situation to them. They asked intelligent questions. They diagnosed the problem within minutes and set about not only correcting the problem, but correcting the underlying causes. We asked about two other plumbing concerns and they gave us excellent advice. Throughout the process they were pleasant, professional, courteous and very clean. When they left we not only had a functioning bathroom again, but look forward to the next time we need a plumber. We give them our highest rating.

Alan was also integral in offering advice on my project and willing to work with me and advise me on steps that I was uncertain about as a novice. I appreciated the way he spent time to get to know me as a client to better provide the customer service I was needing. I'm fiercely independent and prefer to do things myself if I can, but when I had to relinquish control and admit (to my wife) that I had bitten off more than I could chew, Alan was able to help. I would recommend Alan to others whether you need professional advice or assistance on a project. He and his people are clean, courteous and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Alan provided me with assistance on a bathroom remodel project that I began as a DIYer. He and his son installed plumbing for new shower and toilet as well as shower pan and drain. They also wired the electrical for a combo light/fan and vanity light.

Overall, I don't think they adhere to, "customer is always right" attitude.
Description of Work: In the past I have used Aim to Please on one of my apartments. I have several apartments and it is difficult to find a good competant handyman. So I employed them to replace a shower surround and repair the plumbing there also. They did an excellent job and in only one day. So I kept their magnetic card on the fridge and planed on using them again. On Monday I called for an estimate to have a remodel and and plumbing done on another partment. They said he had worked here before which is not true. They have never been to work at this location! They called late Thursday to cancel because they said I had previously given them a bad report on Angies List for work done at this lovation. I have never given a negative report and, in fact, I always give POSITIVE reports except this one. Sorry, but I will be using JJ Handyman Service from now on.

Over the years we have been able to get pretty good at spotting contentious persons and begging off projects for them. You too, try to deal with positive, up-beat persons, I'm sure. We really do reject projects offered to us on occasion, just as you choose not to do business with some providers. We all want our days to go smoothly.

If that beloved children?s TV host, Mr. Rogers, were to describe my experience with Aim to Please Plumbing, I think he would quip, ?Can you spell ?u-n-p-r-o-f-e-s-s-i-o-n-a-l?? Actually, there are several words that I could use to describe this company but with the certain knowledge that neither Mr. Rogers nor Angie?s List would approve, I?ll refrain.1. I began using Aim to Please in 2011when I moved to a house that needed some plumbing upgrades. After spotting a cute ad for this company in the Yellow Pages, I employed Malachi Meeker, son of the owner, several times for various jobs. Although I found them to be expensive, I was impressed with the polite demeanor and excellent work carried out by Malachi. When one of my bathrooms needed a toilet and sink/countertop replacement, I called and specifically requested Malachi for the job. I was assured that it would be he who would be coming and was therefore surprised when another employee arrived instead. The quality of that employee's work did not match Malachi?s, unfortunately. But this turned out to be the least of my complaints with Aim to Please Plumbing. Alan Meeker, owner of Aim to Please, offered to come to my house to resolve any problems with their work. In his email to me, Alan stated, ?It will not be a hostile affair, so do not be anxious about my visit to your home.? On April 17, the appointed time came and went with no sign of Mr. Meeker. I called the office and was told that he was out working on ?a big job? and that she would remind him of our appointment. Meeker arrived shortly thereafter, clearly agitated and impatient. I escorted him to the bathroom to review his employee?s work, but Alan stationed himself at the doorway and refused to thoroughly inspect the room. Instead he stated that he was there only to caulk around the toilet (a very minor part of the problems) and began shouting at me, ?Do you want me to do it?? (ie. caulk). ?Yes or no. Tell me now. Tell me now -- yes or no -- or I?m leaving.? I tried to calm the situation by repeating several times, ?Let?s move out of the bathroom and discuss this?. He shouted me down every time with ?Tell me now -- yes or no. Tell me now or I?m leaving.? I was intimidated by a man who continually shouted at me from the doorway of the bathroom, essentially blocking me in. Not knowing what else to do, I finally positioned myself nose-to-nose to Meeker (A short man!) and said, ?Please move. This is my home.? His reply, ?That means no. I?m leaving.? And with that, he stomped out of the house, slamming the door behind him. In my view, the customer may not always be right, but the customer always has the right to be treated respectfully. I wonder if Meeker would have (mis)treated a male customer in the same way? Note: I am female and over sixty years old. Fortunately, I had asked another person to be present during this appointment or I would have felt even more uncomfortable! I have deliberately waited a full year to report my experience with this company to Angie?s List because I wanted to be as objective as possible rather than responding from the emotion-of-the-moment. I believe I?ve been fair in my assessment. I am sad to make this kind of report about a company that I would have previously recommended wholeheartedly. Note: On April 23, 2012, I wrote a polite and respectful letter to Mr. Meeker to request a refund of my money. I received no response at all from him.

Well, thank you, member, for the feed back. It allows everyone looking at our reviews to see positively that these reviews are not manufactured in-house. Perhaps the reader will recognize a 98% success rate positively. Others may grasp the 2% failure rate (to satisfy the client) and never call on us for services. Over the years we have been able to get pretty good at spotting contentious persons and begging off projects for them. You too, try to deal with positive, up-beat persons, I'm sure. We really do reject projects offered to us on occasion, just as you choose not to do business with some providers. We all want our days to go smoothly. Our employee that went out on the job did not satisfy the member's expectations. I personally went out and offered to change everything for free (even though all was up to code and neat). He/she refused to allow me to make the changes to satisfy his/her wishes The member's primary complaint was our employee used white caulk to set a red sink. Now, as to the member's complaints. From our perspective, things happened differently. We did not see eye-to-eye.....I'm too short.

Our water heater developed a leak. I searched Angie's List for a highly rated plumber and found Aim to Please. Based on the reviews, I called and set up an appointment. Jesse showed up right on time and checked out the water heater. He determined that we needed a new one and arranged to replace it at a time when it was convenient for me. He called to let me know that they were running late and to discuss an issue with the replacement water heater. He and Malachi showed up when they said they would and got right to work. They were very pleasant, professional and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone. They were great!

We threw a tough task at them, including replacing a shower faucet with minimal wall damage. The solution took awhile, but they were able to do the repair without punching noticeable holes in my walls, which I really appreciate. The down side: They spent a lot of time taking out a vanity in the adjoining bathroom so they could access the plumbing behind the wall, and that is what drove the cost up for me. Whoever installed that one had use tons of caulk they had to go through. But I do appreciate the job leading to minimal wall damage. Nathan and Jesse were very professional and did a good job. They answered many questions for me along the way so I understood what they were doing and what that meant for me down the road.

As they say on their web site and I quote directly: You expect prompt service, I called in the morning around 11:00 and had an appointment for a service call at 1:00 that afternoon. The technician, Norman, showed up very promptly at 1:00. A prepared tech with a fully stocked truck (A rolling warehouse) The technician did indeed arrive with a fully stocked truck. The only thing that he didn't have was any faucets and I had to run and buy what I needed. All other materials required were on hand. A clean technician (disposable gloves changed frequently to protect your health and his) The technician did indeed wear disposable gloves and change them frequently. A clean work site when the job is complete The work area was completely cleaned up when he left. A tobacco free employee The technician was not a smoker. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else needing plumbing work and if I ever need plumbing help I will call them again. A competent technician It was determined that my faucet couldn't be repaired and would have to be replaced. The technician, Norman, advised me as to the kind of faucet I needed and waited for me to go get one.
Description of Work: I had a leaking faucet that I couldn't repair so I called them to do the repair for me. It turned out that the faucet was too old to be repaired and had to be replaced. The technician, Norman, advised me as to the type of faucet to buy and went ahead and started work while I went and bought the replacement faucet. He promptly installed the faucet I had purchased as soon as I returned.

Nathan arrived on time and examined my kitchen faucet. I had purchased a new faucet since I had asked Aim to Please by email if they thought I might have to have one and they had suggested I probably would. Nathan said he could fix the old faucet, which he did quickly and efficiently. I also asked him to explain what he was doing because I like to understand how things in my home work. He explained everything clearly. I was most pleased with the transaction.

That is what we all want when we can......repair rather than replace. Other times, antiques need to go. We have successfully transitioned old chrome plated kitchen drain assemblies to more durable PVC over the past many years. Now it is going quite well getting rid of old washer type faucets. The modern washerless Delta and Moen faucets rarely need repair or replacement. Nathan is quite handy around a sink.........but just try and get him to do the dishes ;) ~Alan

We want to thank the member for the post. For those of you about to choose a service provider; the member let you know that Malachi emphasized the improved lawn faucet. He replaced a washer type faucet with a washerless lawn faucet. This member has admittedly not had much experience with using service providers. Here is what we have posted on our website (since 2007): The rate is $100/hr for the lead technician and $50 for the helper. There is a trip charge of $30/city $40/county, and whatever parts we use. Most often you will see two come to your home, but contrary to our competitors, you will only be charged for one if the second is not productive in our opinion. This was the case for this member, by the way. Getting apples to apples comparisons from company to company is difficult, though. Some charge more for the trip charge and then bill in 15 minute increments. We will be the first to say that our rates, on the surface, seem to be among the highest in our area. We also know the competition. Company culture, the mind-set, if you will, makes a huge difference. Let us show you!

Nathan and Jesse arrived exactly on time and were friendly, professional and efficient. The faucet was installed in record time and works perfectly. I appreciate what they didn't do as much as what they did. They advised against repairing a very old faucet to a laundry tub, saying that the repair might be unsuccessful. Others might have attempted (and of course billed for) a failed repair. Because of their excellent work and honesty I would not hesitate to call Aim to Please again.

This was a full assault on a damaged bathroom. It took two full working days, two plumbers and for part of the time, a plumber's helper, for whom we were not charged. The old toilet had a small crack, which had, over time, quietly seeped into the sub-flooring and ruined the bathroom floor. Everything had to be taken out to get at the floor. We decided it made sense to redo the whole bathroom, as the replacement toilet could not be matched to the old fixtures. The bathroom is an odd size, so finding a bathtub and tub surround was expensive. We supplied those two pieces. The plumbers had to remove part of the wall, just to get the tub to slide in. Then they had to build edging for the surround and did a great job of it. They replaced the floor, put down the extra floor insulation I had purchased, installed the linoleum, the bathtub and surround, installed the new toilet, vanity, taps, new plumbing in the wall for the bathtub and new plumbing for the sink and toilet and put in all new plumbing parts for all the new fixtures. They got the one piece sink top and the vanity at a better price for us than I could get them. It's like having a brand new room in our old place. The crew was very pleasant, personable, and professional. I was able to go off to work and not be concerned about leaving them in my home. They did excellent work and I will hire them again, when we redo the other bathroom. We also plan to use the electrician from their company to do our electrical work.

I called Aim-to-Please to get an estimate for some remodel work in our home. I was very impressed with the reviews on Angie's List so they were the first company that I called. When I spoke with the scheduler I was very clear in telling her that Friday was my only day off, and she scheduled an estimate between 4:00 and 5:00 on Friday. Well, I received a call at 4:56 telling me that the plumber was running late and would get to my home as soon as he could. I was on a tight schedule so I asked her what time he would be there. She said she would find out and call me back. I am glad I asked because she called back and said that he would have to reschedule for a different day. Needless to say, I am very frustrated with their service and professionalism. I certainly understand delays, but I would have liked to have been given more notice that a reschedule was necessary. Fortunately I had the foresight to schedule a 2nd estimate in advance, so it looks like the choice was made for me. I hope others have better luck with Aim-to-Please than I did.

This member is correct, we were going to be very late getting to the estimate he scheduled. The project we were working on took us into overtime. The scheduler called us while were working feverishly (really!) to complete the current project. We informed her we'd be past our appointment time by quite a bit and asked her to re-schedule the estimate. It boils down to this: When we are working for you, be assured you are the most important person in the world. The earth may shake and rumble, but the project will be completed so we do not have it hanging over our heads like the sword of Damocles.

A+++ Experience - Highly Recommended!!! Our experience with Aim to Please Plumbing & Electric was outstanding in every aspect. When we realized that we needed the kitchen sink food disposal replaced, we check with friends for plumbing recommendations. Both people we asked mentioned Aim to Please Plumbing & Electric. We also checked Angie's List and they are the highest rated plumbing business in Bloomington, Indiana. We called them Monday morning. Very professional interaction while scheduling and very accommodating to our own schedule. Aim to Please could have done the service within one day (Tuesday), but we asked for a Wednesday appointment. Nathan showed up exactly on time (9:30AM). He was very courteous (I told Nathan that he could keep is shoes on, but he insisted to take them off), affable and professional. Nathan listened to my explanation, inspected the garbage disposal and concluded that indeed it need to be replaced. He also informed me that the professional that originally installed the garbage disposal had done an outstanding job (something about using silicone, instead of plumber's putty as a sealant), which would make Nathan's job quicker. And in fact, 25-30 minutes after, the job was done!! Nathan verified that everything was working correctly. He also made sure that everything was clean: in fact, the floor was probably cleaner after he was done :) Next, Nathan explained the warranty details and a few simple "maintenance" suggestions regarding the garbage disposal. The price was what we expected (around $240) and the billing procedure was simple and professional. I do not believe that we could have had a better experience than the one we had!!! I made sure to add Aim to Please Plumbing and Nathan's name to our contact list, in case we will need plumbing services in the future or in case someone asks for a recommendation. Thanks for a great job!!

With only a single hiccup we were able to get the work done which we asked for. Regarding the hiccup, we called Alan on a Saturday morning to ask what we should do and he arrived within an hour (we are 45 minutes away) and fixed it for us immediately. Alan is clearly proud of the work that he does and it shows. It was a pleasure working with him.
Description of Work: We had a number of upcoming projects that included electrical and plumbing work. This trip was to take care of some minor things and get them off our list before we start the bigger stuff.

Phewwww! I can breath again! The member is correct in saying we had a hiccup. A new part we installed failed. When the member called we wanted to come right away to see what was up. The "new" part was taken out and even though it took an hour and about $50 of other parts there was no additional fee. Rest assured, IF anything hiccups we want to be right on it. This member could have reacted badly, but instead, relied on us to make it right. Thank you to this member for letting the world know how we try to own the name, regardless what may come.

Servicemen called before arrival to narrow the time window and confirm the address. Professional and clean in appearance, explained what might be needed, options, etc. Used the least obtrusive method to access interior wall for the purpose of cutting the water line to replace the faucet. Were in and out quickly, they cleaned up thoroughly and did a great job. A+
Description of Work: Outdoor faucet was replaced, necessitating access in interior wall.

Thank you for remembering us after several weeks. Malachi must have made quite an impression. By the way, everyone, a team member gets a bonus if mentioned by name in a positive rating. Let me tell you how valuable these ratings are: To a potential client it gives hope that their problem will be solved not only relatively smoothly, but solved by one of the few e-neighbors you trust like a brother (well, I trust my brother;). To us these ratings are refreshing, making us want to do even better. We try hard every day, for every client. On the occasions we receive such positive feedback, we celebrate at breakfast as a group before going out to slay the dragon. So, please keep them coming and we'll keep trying to improve!
