Thank you, member, for the review. It's nice to come up with something new. We liked that you rated our price a "B". Now everyone can see, Our prices are just a little, tiny bit, above average! ;) Now, let's smile anyway..............

Description of Work: Determined the cause of water backup in basement drain and unclogged the pipes causing the problem. Also fixed a running toilet. Both employees were extremely professional and polite. They answered all of my questions and explained the problems thoroughly. They were also able to provide insight into future plumbing projects that I am planning. I will absolutely use this company for future plumbing needs.

Thank you for the feed back. Nothing negative, per se, but let me address price. Most contractors here do charge about the same, just in different ways ($/quarter hour, trip charges, $/hour, etc). None of us like to make a bid sight unseen. One of my competitors charges $2 less per hour but minimum of four hours to install a water heater. We usually take about two, sometimes three, depending on the circumstances. The franchises charge $1500 to $2000 for the same work. Then we come to neatness, creativity, and simplicity. We have found some "creative" disasters. You may think of installing a "simple" water heater and contractor as apples-to-apples......but some are not as tasty as others ;) I am happy Angie is here to allow you to get the "flavor" of a contractor before you bite. ~Alan Meeker

Description of Work: I left a message for Aim To Please on a Saturday afternoon at 6:30 pm because my septic lift pump had stopped working and I had guest staying the weekend. They were at my house within an hour and quickly had the original pump working. Though the fix didn't require a replacement pump; they had stopped by their shop and picked one up "just in case". This is not the first time I've used Aim To Please. Every time they have consistently delivered quality work and superior service. I recommend them with full confidence.

Description of Work: They rerouted discharge from a neighbor's sump pump. This involved digging, including removing and resetting stone walkways, and placing a pipe. They did a good job. The guys who did the project were competent and helpful.

Description of Work: I got home last night to a broken pipe that had probably broken and thawed in my crawl space. I sent an emailto the address on here, asking if they could fix it today. I did not get a response of any kind. I called both numbers listed on here as well, and it rang and rang and no one answered. Guess they are busy and//or do not want my business. I am disappointed because the excellent reviews on here were the reason I tried to use them.

Response from Aim To Please Plumbing & Electric
We apologize for the lack of communication. We did not receive an email from this member to alan@aimtoplease.biz; our primary email account. We did indeed shut down the phone line to the emergency call person (my wife) after three days, so she could sleep soundly for a night. The first three days of this storm she was awakened every few minutes. We did, however, have the office recorder on every night. The phone was answered all day every day too. During the recovery period of this storm all plumbers were inundated with calls. Occasionally we would have too many calls and the call wait feature would kick off the excess calls. The procedure most followed by plumbing companies here was to make a list of people in need and simply call ahead to see if the client was still in need of service or had another company already made it out to repair the frozen/burst lines. So please, forgive our inability to be there for everyone in Bloomington during this great need. It is Friday now, and the phone calls have subsided......we're catching up.

Everything went well.
Description of Work: Our aging toilet had become loose from its bolts, which had rusted. My husband didn't feel comfortable making the repair himself so I needed a professional. Admittedly, I had never heard of this company prior to this morning, but the excellent reviews on Angie's List encouraged me to try them out. I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. Jessie lifted the toilet, checked the crawlspace under the house, installed a new line, new bolts and replaced the fill valve. He patiently answered all of my questions and gave advice about future maintenance.

brick
Description of Work: I called because we had no power to outlets in our garage. Alan and Nathan came within a week of my call and found the problem very quickly (a defective GFI). I also asked Alan if he thought they could bring power from the crawl space to a new outlet near the front porch. We have been in our house 20 years, and the outlet outside the front door had never worked. We had previously hired 2 other electricians to investigate why there was no power, and were told it wasn't wired when the house was built, and since the outlet was imbedded in brick, would not be easily repaired. Alan and Nathan checked the GFI"s near the door, then followed the wires from the outlet through the crawl space and the basement, and finally took apart a GFI in a bathroom near the back door to find the wires that had just not been connected. Now, I have power to the outside outlets without having to dismantle a brick pillar! I was extremely pleased, not only with the outcome, but the professionalism and friendliness with which these two men worked. I will call AIM to Please anytime I need electrical work (or plumbing) in the future! I also thought the price was very reasonable, considering the number of hours Alan and Nathan spent trying to solve this puzzle. They also cleaned up everything, including the remains of a mouse they found behind an outlet plate!

Wow, thank you for the detailed rating. Now, to you, the prospective client. Keep in mind this member's perspective that she had a puzzle rather than a problem. Shouldn't we all approach the unknown in just such a manner? Puzzles can be fun; problems, not so much. Now, let's have fun, shall we? (the mouse was long dead and dried up, not stinky;)

Oops, see above description.
Description of Work: Water damage in the bathroom. The remedy was a complete tear-out and re-build. The bathroom was 35+ years old. Aim to Please gave a comprehensive estimate both cost and length of the job. The tear-out took a day. Putting everything back (all new items) took a little longer. A tile floor was an option that we requested. The floor is beautiful. They came each day on time, left for the day when it was in-between parts of the project. Once all items were installed, drywall finishing and painting were accomplished. Extra tasks were added with no problem, and for a fair increase in time and cost. The employees were very polite, clean, and efficient. If I were to run a company, this is how I would do it. The whole bathroom is beautiful! Thanks Malichi, Allen, John, and the rest of your team, we really appreciate everything you did! We have asked for a kitchen remodel sometime in the future.

Description of Work: I joined Angie's list to find an electrician and a roofer. This is the first electrician I called. They came out to give me an estimate (had a hard time contacting them as their answering machine was full). I spent a half hour with the man and then never heard from him again. Don't bother.

This member is correct. The member fell through the cracks. Shortly after seeing the posting a bid was submitted along with an apology; we haven't heard from the member since. Our phones are answered by a live person 9-5. After hours a machine handles non-emergency calls; emergency calls are made to our office manager's cell phone and answered immediately without hitting the reject button. Promise. We are not perfect, but we try. Falling through the cracks is rare.
