They were fine, they came in, they did their job, they replaced the rollers so everything was okay and they left.

They replace the springs and a couple of rollers and added the $99 special to reduce the total. Everything was fine and they were prompt.

Steve from A-1 Garage Doors was the best. This service far exceeded my expectations for quality service. We have a two garage door system at our house and one of the doors had lost a roller and was no longer operable. I bought the Angie's List Big Deal from A-1 and frankly expected minimal service or more costs associated with this package. I received a pre-call the day before the service appointment to walk through what I needed/expected from the service call. The person I spoke to was knowledgeable and very friendly and answered all of my questions. Steve arrived on time the next day and walked through the service order to ensure he had everything. He indicated he could easily fix the door problem without additional cost. After completing the door repair he also looked into an issue we were having with the placement of a safety sensor. Although he said he could not change the location of the sensor, he did reinforce the mounting bracket more securely to ensure it would not fall off when struck by the pedestrian door. He also noticed that one of the wires to the sensor had been partially chewed through by a rodent and replaced the entire sensor. Before Steve left I took the opportunity to ask him a questions about another set of garage door openers on my barn that I wanted to install a remote on for easier access. I did not think the openers would accommodate a universal remote but he not only showed me that it could be done, but took an extra 15 minutes to do it for me. Great on the spot customer service. I will definitely be using A-1 Garage Doors again in the future, and will refer them to my friends and neighbors.

I made an appointment for the next day, and Darrell, the owner, arrived early, quickly diagnosed the problem, looked for any other broken parts, gave me a firm price for repairs (which included a $15 Angie's List discount), and immediately started the work. Within one hour he had repaired the opener, and then proceeded to perform several preventative maintenance services. He replaced the door pull rope, lubricated the door rollers, hinges, tracks, and springs, and adjusted the sensitivity controls on the opener to ensure smooth door operation. All this extra work was done at no additional charge. Darrell (and Carol, his office manager) were both very friendly, helpful, responsive, and professional. Darrell also gave me quotes on new replacement door openers, since my unit is very old. His prices were very reasonable, and the best of three quotes I obtained from other companies. I will definitely plan to use A-1 Garage Doors in the future for any repairs or replacements.

Great, he could have sold me a set of new rollers. But instead he made some minor adjustments and it worked like new.

Let me start by saying that I purchased a home in December and my non-insulated garage door quit working about 2 weeks into my homeownership. I could tell the door had been damaged by the previous occupants because there was a makeshift band-aid in place that had no intention of working long term, and the opener was off-center. I called THREE OTHER garage door "specialists" in addition to A-1 Garage Doors to get an estimate (I'm frugal, not cheap - and I believe you get what you pay for) - two others were from Angie's List. I chose A-1 Garage Door (Steve) because he offered the lowest cost "band-aid" until I could get the door replaced completely. No other company offered anything but a complete garage door replacement. I knew the outcome .. I needed a garage door that would WORK right now. Steve and another guy showed up within 48 hours (as promised) to assess the situation and returned in a few days to fix my garage door. He quoted me a price on the spot for a "right now fix" and also gave me a figure on the complete replacement. I always thought insulated garage doors were for insulated garages. Not so, as Steve explained (in detail). I will be ordering my insulated garage door from A-1 Garage Doors. The repair price he quoted on the spot was the same when I was handed the bill. THAT is customer service. THAT is how you run a business - you give the customer what they ASK for - and THAT is why A-1 Garage Doors will get my business and I will recommend them to everyone I know. Thanks to Steve and the office staff at A-1 Garage Doors for taking care of this customer. My garage door works better than it ever has and I can't wait for Steve and his crew to install my NEW garage door in the near future. I called in the late morning because door would not close properly & was higher on one side than the other. I was told someone would be here late afternoon. About 2 hours earlier, the.repairman called & asked if he could come early. Of course, I agreed. He fixed the door in minutes. Since my opener is around 20 years or more, I was afraid I would have to replace it. I was very happy. I would most definitely use A-1 Garage Doors again.

When the technician arrived he showed me that the very loud noise every time the door opened and closed was actually coming from the motor of the garage door opener. I thought maybe I just needed new rollers, but that was not the problem. They applied my $99 credit of my original purchase to a new garage door unit that I agreed upon. They were very easy to schedule an appointment with and the technician was very helpful. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to family and friends.

I bought the $99 Angie's List Special. The service technician (I wish I could recall his name) was extremely friendly, and he explained everything to me. I paid an additional $30 for the part. The tech came back in maybe a day or two with the part, installed it, and everything was fine. I really liked the professionalism, and customer service was great! I would definitely use them again.

The overall experience with A-1 was great! When I called in the person I spoke with was polite and very responsive. My car was stuck in the garage and she was kind enough to give me some tips on how to open the door until a technician could get to me. The technician was on time and pleasant. He installed the door within a couple of hours all by himself. I would definitely recommend A-1 and plan to use them again if needed.

The provider came out for the initial inspection and told us that the service was unnecessary and informed us to contact Angie's List regarding a refund.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did not charge me for the full service charge for the second visit, they gave it to me at half price. They said that the vibration has caused a wire to break. The initial service of the garage door made it much smoother than it had been before. I don't know if the breaking of the wire was caused by anything that was done or if it was truly done by the vibration. The same person came out that had fixed it originally and they were fine. The garage door is fine now. I spent another $100 to get the part fixed and another $60 for the second service call.

It went extremely well. They promptly answered my Angie's list email; the first visit and quote were good; and the service was excellent, including an Angie's List discount.

My experience was pretty good. We did not need the new rollers. Scheduling went well and they were accommodating to me. One technician came out to do the work and he was here for 30 minutes or so. I was satisfied with the work they do.
