From my first interaction with A1 Garage Doors, I was impressed. Carol was pleasant and helpful on the phone. She arranged a service call and provided a quote immediately. The installer was at the house on time and completed the project within the stated expected time period. His work is neat and unobtrusive. He cleaned up after himself. In addition to the install, routine maintenance was completed. I would highly recommend A1.

This was one of the best service experiences in total that I can recall. The same day I purchased the service through Angie's List I received a call from Carol at A-1 Garage Doors to set the appointment. From the beginning I could tell that she had done her homework. Once we set the appointment she confirmed our address and asked if we still had the single two car garage door with windows across the top. I was surprised, yet pleased that she had taken the time to google our address and look at the garage door. Before the call ended she read back the address and the directions to our home from a major intersection nearby and asked if I thought that was the best way to get to us. I said it was and she ended with the name of the technician and description of their service vehicle that would be coming. Carol was professional, detail oriented, and courteous; all of which gave me confidence in our selection of A-1. Day of service appointment: The technician for our service call was Steve. He arrived 15 minutes ahead of our appointment window ; perhaps because we were the first appointment of the day. He introduced himself and asked if we were having a particular issue with our garage door. He did an inspection then explained what he would be doing. While our garage door is only about 5 years old the opener is over 20 years old. Once he completed the tune up which included replacing all the steel rollers with much quieter nylon rollers he took a good look at our opener. Over the years it has gotten pretty noisy. Steve checked it to make sure that the bolts and screws for the support and housing of the opener were secure and tight. They were not... As I mentioned our opener is old and the control panel next to the entry door has been giving us some problems for awhile. Steve made some helpful suggestions to solve that problem for us. He summarized the work he had done and suggestions made and then said something you don't often hear from some companies. He said regarding the noisey opener "I know the opener is a bit loud, but it is not as loud as some I hear. But ultimately it is working fine. I wouldn't replace it until it breaks down completely." I certainly appreciated the integrity of Steve's comment, his professional appearance and attitude. The entire experience with A-1 was exceptional. For what it may be worth to those reading this. I rarely take time to write reviews. The ones that I have are usually cautions for others. We will use A-1 when the need arises. Not much else that I can add.

We have used them before. They are an outstanding company. They are very competent, they do good work, and are reasonably priced.

They showed up on time and were able to promptly complete the work. I haven't had any issues with my garage door since the tune-up.

The dispatcher was pleasant and made sure she knew all the details needed for the service call. The technician was great! He identified that the company I used prior to A-1 (not found on Angie's List) used the wrong part which contributed to the untimely failure. He completed the work in a fraction of the time and for a lot less than the prior company. I will definitely be using them when I upgrade my garage doors!

Steve the tech was great he called ahead of time but when he got to my house he had the wrong springs.(My fault I told CW the office lady it was metal door not a wood one) It was nice be able to leave the door unlocked for him a few days later so he could come to my home without me having to take off work. He locked up after leaving and now the door is running smoothly. I would ask for Steve and hire A1 again in a heart beat. They could have charged me more but saved me Money!

They arrived early, after calling to make sure that would work for me. They not only repaired the problem, but advised me what had caused it and how I might avoid future problems of a similar nature.

We have known him for years. He came out quickly and did a great job.

All of the people at this company were courteous, professional, and easy to work with. The person who installed the door did a great job and even took away the old wooden garage door. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for garage door replacement or repairs.

Service was very good. They came back out when my track was bent somehow several months later. They did this repair at no cost to me.

It went outstanding. Steve put the door back into level and checked the door opener was working.

Estimate was free, workman was punctual and pleasant, price was slightly higher than others but company was able to get to the work quickly for us, I was slightly disappointed in the quality of the door opener (plastic seemed less sturdy than our old one) but this may be a reflection in manufacturing changes in the last 20 years

The service turned out well. They did exactly what the deal stated. The technician was very friendly and nice. Scheduling was not issue.

I have been a member of Angie's List for 2 years and have used many providers, this one is BY FAR THE BEST! A-1 showed up right on time and was very pleasant and personable. Darrell (owner) got to work right away and finished the replacement in no time. He even went above and beyond by greasing/oiled the rollers and track. We will definitely be using A-1 in the future to get our doors replaced. Thanks A-1!

Purchased garage doors from Home Depot and A-1 was their approved installer. Paul was punctual and professional and did an excellent job with the install, especially considering he was working alone. All of the old doors and hardware were removed and the area was left clean.

The service man was professional. He fixed the problem and provided maintenance on rollers.

Steve is the technician who came out to look at it. Steve did an awesome job. He showed up right on time. While the job required was easy and didn't require a lot of work, he was very informative about any questions or concerns I brought to his attention. He was polite, professional and I was very satisfied with the service he provided. He gave me some good tips about future use of my garage door and I'll be sticking with A-1 in the future if every technician is similar to Steve. His help & knowledge were very helpful.

I called early that day and a few hours later they where at my house. The repair person realized what happened and he repaired the damage in about 30 minutes. The only glitch was the sensor stopped working and he did not have a replacement part. He came back several days later and found a short in the wiring and fixed it with no extra charge. All in all it was a good experience.

It was a very easy process to schedule the service and they did a great job of being flexible and communicating with me when I needed to bump the scheduled time back an hour. The technician arrived on time and was friendly. He identified problem with one of our doors and installed a strut on a 9' door to fix the problem. Would use them again.

The process at A-1 Garage door was great. The service was set up via a phone call and follow up email. I provided pictures of the work area prior to the job and A-1 came out fully prepared to complete the job in 1 trip. The service technician called prior to arrival.
