Darrell & Carol Munchel are the owners of A-1 Garage Doors, Inc. They and their family have been dedicated to bringing to the public the best in quality and service since 1988. Darrell has made his career in the garage door industry for over thirty years. He started out as an installer and has spent over twenty years as a business owner as well. He is the current president of the Indiana Garage Door & Operator Association (IGDOA), which keeps him on the cutting edge of advances in garage door services and technology. A-1 Garage Doors offers a winning combination of top quality products and dependable service. We are truly the company with the boss on the job! At A-1 Garage Doors, Inc. we have something of value to offer where garage doors and openers are concerned. The showroom was created in an effort to give buyers a true feel for what they are looking to purchase. Our professional installers are full-time employees, trained by us to maintain our high standards. We employ no subcontractors. We install garage doors in new construction and replace doors in existing structures. We removed and haul away existing door, track, and hardware. Reconnect existing opener and install proper bracing for the door. Install woodgrain vinyl weather seal. Replace extension and torsion springs. We repair all brands of garage doors and openers.

Description of Work: This company located around the Indianapolis area installed my garage doors when I built my house in 1996. Recently I had a problem with the door not wanting to close or open, so I called them to come to repair. It wasn't long and they were there and diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered the parts and repaired the opener. When installing it, the one light cover shattered as they are getting older. They told me about it and said that the manufacturer doesn't make those lights or light covers any longer, and they would credit my account with the amount of a light shade. Not knowing where to even look for a light shade for this garage door opener, I thought I would look on E-bay. Before I even had a chance to look, A1 Garage Door had found a used one and dropped it off at my house. WHAT SERVICE!!

Description of Work: I bought a big deal to have our garage door serviced and the rollers replaced. The tech was right on time, did the work quickly and showed me what he had done. He told me our screw-drive opener would never quite be "quiet," but that it would last a long, long time. The door is much quieter and runs much more smoothly. I would definitely call A-1 again.

Description of Work: Steve came out and checked my garage door opener and found it needed to be replaced. We set an appointment and he showed up on time and was very professional. Description of Work: I had been told by another company that I needed new operators for my doors. I ordered them from A-1 because of better price, but when they came out to install them they said I didn't need them but they would install them if I wanted. Instead we chose to replace vinyl trim which was sticking to door because of past paint on doors and trim. This was causing the doors to not operate properly. This saved me $600.

Description of Work: We have used A-1 before, at our previous house. Always a great experience and truly professional. The installer first pulled down a still-working 26 year old opener, and instructed me about how to install it on our single (third-car) door (which had been out of commission). My wife and I did it in about a half-hour, the next day, with no trouble. The installer then installed a new opener, with more features, including two laser park-assist lights--that help you park in exactly the same spot, in the garage, every time. Had them before and loved them. They even recommended a competitor to purchase a special replacement remote and receiver (for the older model that we moved) I highly recommend A-1 Garage Doors. In my mind, you can't go wrong with them. Call them, today!

Description of Work: THey replaced two sensors on garage door,inspected both of my garage door openers, inspected all springs and rollers and lubricated everyting on both my garage doors. The technician was on time and very professional. I asked him if I should go ahead replace the two sensors on the large garage door and he said they are working fine and did not need to be replaced. I appreciated his honesty. Great company to do business with.
