A-1 GARAGE DOORS INC

Used Angies List to locate this company - they were everything and more than we expected. Will definitely use them again (hopefully not too soon though).

The upper door panel needed to be replaced, but the manufacturer no longer makes the part. So, the alternative was complete replacement. A-1 came up with a solution that saved me a couple of hundred dollars over the cost of a new door and installed it in just a few days. It is working great and is a huge improvement.

I had a spring break on my garage door on Monday night. I called and left a message that night. The next morning they called back around 7:45. By 10:00, they had replaced both springs and were on their way. Darrell was very professional and did great work.

We had A-1 Garage Doors install our garage door in 2003, and we were pleased with their service, professionalism and punctuality. A few years ago, we had them come out for a repair problem, and we thought we needed a new door opener. At that time, the repairman fixed the sensors and said that our existing model was still good, and that we might as well get a few more years out of it. We were so pleased that he was honest with us and didn't try to oversell. We called them now in 2010 because all three of our remote openers wouldn't work in spite of new batteries. They knew what size and model door we had, and recommended an opener suitable for that size of door. We had to wait about 3 business days for the model to be shipped to them. They called us when it arrived and set up the appointment for March 17th, and even set up a time range for the installer to arrive. The installer arrived actually earlier than promised, and even called ahead to make sure it was okay to arrive early. From start to finish, he did the job in less than an hour. He consulted with me as to where the new wall mounted opener button should be placed, because it was larger in size than our old wall mounted opener button. He also inspected the door, tightened the springs, etc. When he finished the job, he took time to demonstrate all the features of the new opener and answered all questions that I asked. He cleaned up after himself and disposed of the old garage door opener. I would recommend this company to others, and plan to use them in the future.

Technician arrived on time and was very friendly. He was able to fix our remote key pad and make it work even though it is old, saving us an expensive replacement. He also quickly diagnosed a loose wire in my garage control pad. He did some general maintenance which made the doors quieter. I was very pleased with the whole experience and would call them again for any other issues.

Darrel, the owner was very responsive; he was on site throughout the project. He made sure everything and made sure everything was working effectively. He would actually call us; we would not have call him. Some of the equipment from Lift Master was defective and he came out about eight times to make sure it was working correctly. He would call us and make sure everything was working. His customer is outstanding.

I was extremely happy with A-1 Garage Doors and would recommend them to anyone. The service call only lasted about 30 minutes and when Steve was done, I was confident our door would not have any further problems.

We've used them 2 or 3 times before and they have always done a good job. They came when they were supposed to and did what they were supposed to do.

The lady who answered our call to schedule the service appointment was friendly and professional. They were able to get us scheduled for service right away and they were willing to come to our home in the evening so that I didn't have to miss work. Steve arrived on time and kept the appointment despite bad weather coming in that evening. He could easily have asked to re-schedule, but was there as promised. He performed the work needed, which turned out to be minor and treated it as a free estimate since I asked about the cost of replacing some of the components. He could have charged us, but did not. To me, that speaks volumes about this company's integrity. We will most definitely use this company for all of our future garage door repair and maintenance needs and have shared our experience with our neighbors.

The work went wonderful. They came right away and came when they said they would. We noticed that the cable that upholds the garage door was fraying so he replaced that immediately. He found another problem that we hadn't noticed and fixed that too while he was here. So, he saved us a service call and was very efficient. The price was also right. I would absolutely use this company again in future.

I called A1 the next morn 1/6/2010 the lady that answered was very kind and very easy to talk to. She said they would send a man out at 2:00 that afternoon and he was early. Darrel was very good and very fast he was done in an hour in about 15 degrees outdoor temp.We also used our $15 off coupon from Angie's list web site.

They were wonderful, but we ended up doing the work ourselves. They came out the same day or the next day and were very quick and prompt. They were personable and professional. If we would have had the work done, we would have had them do it. The price they quoted was with repair. We would consider using them in the future if need be.

Again, Steve determined the best way to repair/adjust after looking over and checking the gap at the top of the door and sides. He worked diligently and quickly to make the necessary adjustments. He checked his work many times as he made the necessary adjustments. Very thorough. Appreciate this company's work ethic and work quality. Recommend them highly. Chose them after a neighbor's recommendation before joining Angies List.

Steve arrived promptly and quickly started work completing the installation in about and hour and 15 minutes. Area left clean and work checked carefully.

From the very first phone call to their office, this was a positive experience. We chose to go to their showroom to view the product choices, but had done a little homework on their website ahead of time in order to have an idea of what we wanted. They have a nifty little tool on their website called a Visualizer. Try it! The office staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and down to earth. An inspection of our garage was done ahead of time, saving us an embarrasing (and potentially time consuming and costly) measurement boo-boo on our part. And, the day of installation went very smoothly. Aaron installed our new door and answered all of our questions with a very professional/friendly manner. It works perfectly. Every member of this team had a smile on their faces, and gave us excellent communication and follow-up. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again whenever I need addt'l services.

The servce man showed up right on time, and quickly got to work. He was finished completely with both doors within an hour. Very good experience with this company, I'll certainly use them again. (and I got $15 off with a coupon!)

Checked Angie's List for company in area. Called for service, "Steve" came out next morning and repaired the door. "Steve" was very pleasant, professional and did an excellent job in a relatively short period of time. Excellent job! I had requested Steve to replace sensors on another door but Steve indicated they were fine. That's integrity!

Sales personnel helped us select the appropriate doors for our house and set up a convenient installation time. Installer was professional, on time and quickly completed the job (including total clean-up and haul away of old doors. Openers and touch pad were programmed and installer demonstrated use. Am now enjoying attractive doors that operate quietly and efficiently.

We have used A-1 in the past and been very satisfied. The problem with the garage door was noted on a Sunday when they're not open, but we left a message and they got back with us on Monday. They weren't able to come out until Tuesday, and they came out despite the inclement weather. The tech who came out to do the repair was very willing to discuss problems with my wife in person and me over the phone from work. He was upfront in stating that he could do the repair but could not guarantee how long it would last. We appreciated the honesty! The garage door is working great now, and we will continue to use A-1 as our first option in the future.

My old garage door opener wouldn't open if it was too cold out. The new one is working fine, and they did a great job!

The experience went very well. I called and the lady was very nice. I got their information from Angie's List. I asked if they could come in the evening, and they were able to. They were reasonable priced and did a good job.

I called A-1 Garage on Friday, the day after New Years and asked for a service call. They indicated that the next opening would be on Monday. When I told them I was leaving town for a month and needed to get the work done so my family could use the garage, A-1 agreed to send someone at 1 PM. The technician arrived at 12:30. He opened the unit and checked the relays. They were stuck, causing the issue. He informed us that the board should be replaced but they no longer make them due to the units age. However, he said he might have one that would work. Unfortunately, the board was not compatible. The technician tapped on the old relays and got the unit to work, but indicated it could fail and any time. He did not have a new unit with him, and we would need to schedule that through the office. He showed us how to manually operate the door in case it failed again and provided us a quote for a new unit and the cost to install a unit if we wanted to purchase one somewhere else. Since he was unable to resolve the problem, A-1 did not charge for the call. We will replace the unit and A-1 will be the company we have do the work.

It was very positive. They told me how much it would cost over the phone before they came out. They were on time, prompt, and friendly while they were here.

Daryl is absolutely wonderful. He truly goes above and beyond and provides excellent service. I would highly recommend him!
