A-1 GARAGE DOORS INC

We had squeaky garage doors that we though had bad bearings. We purchased an Angie's Deal to replace the bearings on our door with vinyl bearings. Their staff called and scheduled the visit & were very polite and professional.. The repair technician arrived on time & inspected the doors. After he completed the inspection, he advised that we did not need to replace the bearings. However, he then stated that he could replace all of the seals and oil the door for the same price. I agreed as this seemed a great deal. He completed the work that he could that day, and came back a few days later - as promised - to replace the outside seals. Would use them again.

They came out and said that I did not need the big deal that I purchased so I have the coupon sitting here and it has not been used. It did not work out well for me. The big deal that I purchased might have been for maintenance. I do not know if I was confused when I purchased it but the repair man said that it was not needed. They came out pretty quick after I purchased the coupon because I purchased it to use. I just have never gotten around the coupon. They did not take it and I cannot do anything about it. Even if it was not exactly the same thing or whatever, they could have just taken it applied it to the bill. It just makes me really worried to ever purchase a coupon again because I might purchase one from Angie's List and the company would show up and say, "No, we do not want to use that." It does not reflect very good on that service to me. They came out and did some work and there was still a problem with it. I have about an average sized door and it is tall. I think that most doors are six and I think that mine is eight and there is still a lot of noise. And then, they came right back out with no problem at all. They fixed it and they did not charge me when they came back out to make the repair right. Their repair was good. It is just that I am stuck with the $99 coupon that I do not need. That was the only downside of it. Once they got the repair corrected the quality of the work was fine and their responsiveness was good but I might try another company in the future instead of them.

Our experience with them was excellent. They came out very quickly. I think we purchased a spring clean up. He was here early and did a great job. They gave an excellent value. The price was excellent.

Great. It could not have gone smoother. I bought a package through Angie's List for servicing. I had a problem with the door not properly closing. The technician was right on time and had the problem resolved in about 30 min. I was really pleased with the service and will use them again of necessary.

They came out two weeks ago and the service went good. Overall experience was very favorable. He arrived just about on time just a few minutes after 9:30 on the time he said he would come. He was able to fix the one garage door and give us tips on how to fix the other garage door.

A-1 Garage Doors did an excellent job. I was basically locked out of my garage. They had someone doing a service for another customer in the area, and they were able to squeeze me in that same day. The person (Carol) who answered the phone was very friendly, and did what she could to fit me in right away. They did the service while I was away, and didn't worry about payment until I received an invoice. Initially, everything looked good, but when I tried the garage door, the door would automatically open back up. I called Carol, and she sent someone back over that same day to service it. When he returned, he made several adjustments to the door to not only stop the re-opening, but made the garage door seal better against the door frame. He was friendly, very professional, and right to the business of getting the job done. I would use A-1 Garage Doors in the future without hesitation. We are in the process of planning to build a new home. We will more than likely contact A-1 to do the initial installation based on this experience and the volume of other good ratings here on Angie's List.

I called the company at 9:30 this morning because I heard a loud clunk when closing the garage door and then found that it would no longer open. I was happy to hear that an appointment could be scheduled for 2 to 3 pm today! Steve showed up right on time--a little early in fact, and had the door fixed in under an hour. It turned out that both springs were broken but he had everything in working order quickly. I highly recommend this company. They are very professional and do GREAT WORK!!!!!!!! And they gave me the 15% Angie's List Discount :-) Thanks so much A-1 !!!!

We've used this company several times for various repairs through the years and they are the cream of the crop. We remain loyal to them because of their excellent service and communication, plus they charge fair prices. When your garage door won't go up and you can't get the cars out, you feel pretty helpless. #1 CW listens well, acts fast to help you, and is a strong communicator. I called at 8 a.m., she sensed my need, and got me scheduled for that afternoon, even though I sensed it was a really busy day for them. A half hour later, she called and said Darrell the owner could come earlier, around noon. Great news! #2 Darrell arrived around 11:30 (even better!) and went right to work. I had an Angie's List coupon, so it brought the cost down from the $196 mentioned above. #3 Darrell left, and several minutes later I put the car back in the garage and closed the door and it made a noise and messed up. I should mention that Darrell had repeatedly checked the springs and open/closed the door before he left and everything was fine when he left. #4 I called CW and again, she acted fast and called Darrell to come right back. #5 Darrell returned immediately and found a broken cable to be the cause. This didn't totally surprise me as we had a cable replaced several years ago and the other one had to go sometime, right? #6 Darrell not only replaced that cable, but both cables. And when I asked how much, he said no additional charge. Darrell went above and beyond because it's obvious he is a businessman who is service-oriented and wants happy customers. We are happy customers. Thank you to CW and Darrell. You folks are top notch!

I noticed our garage door not closing all the way and called the garage door company we used a few years ago. However, when I read their reviews on Angie's List I noticed quite a bit of negative feedback the past few years and called back and canceled. I then reviewed some other companies listed on Angie's List and settled upon A-1 Garage Doors due to their positive reviews. I called and explained my problem and they scheduled the person to come that same day. The repairman arrived on time, noted that a cable wire was frayed and changed it out right away. He inspected the rest of the garage door to make sure the springs and coils were o.k. Due to an Angie's list coupon, the entire bill with the new cable wire included was less than the quote given for the actual service quote. It was a Sunday evening, and I had gone out to run a few errands. Upon my return, I used the remote control to open the garage door, and entered the garage. Once inside, I shut off the car engine, clicked the remote, and got out of the car. Before I even reached the door to the house (the garage is attached to the house), I heard a loud bang. I walked up to the garage door and saw that one of the springs had totally cracked and split apart. The loud bang I heard was the garage door dropping to the floor. I was able to unlatch the door from the garage door opener motor, lift the door, and move our two cars out of the garage. I called A-1 Garage Doors Inc, since they had installed the door and garage door opener. I was thankful that they had voice mail, so I left a message to advise them that I had a broken spring, and asked if they could call back Monday morning to set up an appointment. I wasn't expecting immediate service since I assumed they already had clients booked for Monday and probably Tuesday. But at least the cars were out of the garage, so we weren't stranded. To my surprise, I got a call the next morning at 7:00 AM. In fact, I think I was still in bed! It was Carol from A-1 Garage Doors calling to say that she had received my message, and asked if we were okay, and if the cars were stuck in the garage. I told her thank you, and that the cars were out of the garage. She then proceeded to tell me that she'd have a team over there at 8:00 AM if it was convenient for us. I about fell out of bed, but said, "of course, 8:00 is great"! She also recommended that we replace the other spring at the same time, as it might be likely to crack too. It was actually a savings to do both at once for $196.00, so I agreed to that. The team showed up at 8:00, and I believe from start to finish they completed the job in less than an hour. This was the third or fourth business transaction that we've had with A-1 Garage Doors, and we've always been pleased with them. This most recent encounter certainly exceeded our expectations and I always recommend them to anyone who asks.

I sent them an e mail on a weekend and they responded early Monday morning. Scheduled service a few days later. They showed up on time, were very professional and we were very satisfied. Would definitely use them again.
