American Mold Experts

American Mold experts was very professional and I greatly appreciate them giving our home a full inspection. On a level of severity, they told us that we were a 3 out of 10, however for them to quote us over $3,000 to clean it up seems like quite a bit of money, especially since it was only on some of the beams in our basement. They made it clear that I would be able to clean this up, however they did not recommend that I do it myself. They offered to give me pointers of how to clean it up myself. There was no pressure for us to hire them for more work, and I appreciate the salesman/inspector not being pushy. I have no doubt that what American Mold Experts provides is a great service. If I had a true mold problem, I would call American Mold Experts for them to help solve my problem. They gave us an estimate to clean a small amount of mold for a large amount of money. I don't intend to say anything negative, and I primarily give this company a B grade because I would never even consider paying them 3,000+ just to clean my beams of some non-harmful mold.

We hired this company to do an inspection because we were concerned about mold in our walls from some water damage years back. We were happy to see that with the equipment they brought they were able to determine nothing was growing behind the walls in our bedroom, which was our concern. We are still in the process of getting the entire report and making a decision on services. What was discovered was some beginnings in our basement which we are not sure if we will treat or not depending upon the costs at this time. We are waiting on their quote. However, I must say that I was very impressed with their technician in all they he did and his professionalism. A very pleasant experience so far with this company.

Overall the experience was great. The company worked with our busy schedules to meet with us after hours which we appreciate since they had such a far drive. The only thing was the price. We didn?t really shop around since the company already had great reviews but wish I had something to compare it to. I am a first time homeowner and I probably should have done a little more research, but it just seemed a little pricey for a 900 square ft basement. It did cost more since we did have a lot of things stored in our basement and everything had to be wiped down and this included the duct work. The guys were are very nice and we are very glad we went through with the process.

We were so pleased with this company! We called on a Sunday and left a message - Got a phone call back later that day and scheduled an appointment within 24 hours. Bruce came out and inspected the master bathroom, confirming the presence of mold. We had smelled a mildew-y smell for some time. He was incredibly informative and knowledgeable about mold. He scheduled a team to come out later that same week and clean/treat the bathroom. They arrived on time and worked for about 4 hours. They were neat and thorough in their work. Someone came out and took air samples a few days later to check for the presence of mold in that room. Bruce was available for questions in the meantime and was very reassuring and helpful. When the results came in, he took time to carefully explain the lab report. Thankfully the report found our master bathroom is now safe! Bruce came out one additional time to inspect an area where we thought we smelled mildew. He used a special thermographic tool to check for the presence of mold in that wall and found none. He explained where he suspected the smell was originating and gave us instructions on what to do. Once again, he was incredibly informative. We were so happy with the customer service and with the successful treatment of our master bathroom. Additionally, we try to make "green" choices for our family and were pleased with this company's enzyme treatment to eliminate mold. Overall, we recommend this company and specifically recommend asking for Bruce.

When I called to get an estimate of mold remediation, I received excellent communication and the inspector came the very day I called. Mold was visible in the dishwasher cavity - and it was evident that there was water damage. The inspector was courteous, encouraging, and professional. He said that "in the world of mold, this is minor." He tested mold spores in my registers - and determined that they were ghost spores. He did not go in the crawl space. I scheduled 2 other mold specialists for estimates. The 2nd mold specialist was also professional, courteous, and came on a Sunday for the inspection. He went into the crawl space, and he had a camera with a lens on a flexible coil which he used to look under the kitchen sink cabinet. Sure enough -- huge water damage and more mold. The 3rd inspector did not use a camera, did not go in the crawl space. He just did a visual check of the dishwasher cavity like American Mold. We chose the 2nd inspector because of the more thorough inspection. Several reviews of American Mold stated that the company did not increase its price despite the need for more work done than estimated, so I believe that they would have done the same for us.

They did a good job and we will use them again.

It went very well and we were really pleased with Tom Bretlinger who came out. He was very thorough and looked everywhere. He did a great job and I would definitely recommend him to anyone. They tested inside and out. He was prompt, called us back when he said he would. He was a caring and concerned individual. I was very impressed. He was here for about 3hours.

They went way above and beyond what we paid for. They were fabulous.

I would use them again if I needed to.

They were quick to get me scheduled as they understood the timeline I was on to get the mold taken care of- we were taking care of a problem on a house we have not yet purchased. We got several estimates for the current owners to take care of the issue. If this was my house I would have used this company in a heart beat. However, the estimate was too high for the current owners so they went with someone else. However, as mentioned this company would have been the one I would have used if it was my call. They were professional and knew their stuff! He was at our house for an hour explaining the situation and how to handle it. Thanks!

They seemed to know what they were talking about while giving the estimate. Everything they described was accurate.

We had been having roof issues above our master bedroom since we purchased the home in 2009. Last year, we installed a new roof, but saw that we had previous water damage and mold growth from before the new roof was installed. We scheduled John from American Mold Experts (AME) to come out at 9:00 am to see if the water and mold were continuing to be active. He called us at 8:40 to let us know he'd be at our house at 9:30, which is when he arrived. He was very friendly, conscientious of our concerns, and thorough. He checked for mold in every bathroom, every closet, and the kitchen, beyond what we had called him out to do. He collected air samples from our master bedroom and from an outdoor outlet and sent them off to a third-party lab. The lab determined the amounts and types of mold present in the air. When the results came back, he was very punctual to contact us. Overall, I was very pleased with the work that AME did for us.

The company was very attentive and understood we needed mold testing for verification and subsequent removal.

Our dining room had termites in late 2011, and we had a pest control company come to our home to set bait and get rid of the termite problem. That took from October through January. When the pest control employee removed the last of the indoor bait traps, he noticed what he thought might be mold. He recommended that we contact a mold remediation company prior to having any woodwork repaired. I found American Mold Experts on Angie's List, and decided to call them based on the reviews. Jon Knight came out to do the inspection and testing. I showed him where the woodwork was damaged with a black, mold-like substance. He took an adhesive strip test of the site, and also took an air sample to see if the suspected mold was airborne. He also took an outdoor air sample as a contrast. In addition, he asked permission to inspect the basement, attic, and under the sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms. The test results came back showing that the black substance was indeed the 'toxic mold'. The good news was that although the indoor air sample showed two different types of mold, they were relatively low. While up in the attic, Jon noticed some moisture around the sewer vent, and felt that it was not venting correctly to the outside. Jon quoted us a price to wipe down the kitchen and dining room areas with a mold destroying enzyme, and also run the enzyme through our HVAC system as a preventative measure. The quote was based on the square footage of the rooms that were to be treated. That price was about $2,000. The $500 extra was for the repair work to the window frame and the rerouting of the attic sewer vent. My wife and I felt that the test results indicated that we needed to do something, as we didn't want the mold to spread. We also had to have some woodwork replaced, and really wanted it to be done through one company. We agreed to the extra cost for the fogging of the HVAC, because several family members have allergies, and we felt that it was just an extra preventative measure. There was a bit of difficulty in confirming the date for the treatment, as their office staff was going through some changes. However, they were always apologetic for the delays, and once the date was set, everyone showed up on time on the promised date. The crew that did the remediation was very professional and courteous. Jason did the repair work on the window frame and the rerouting of the sewer vent. He also drilled holes in the wall and inserted a scope to determine two things: 1. Was there any mold behind the walls, and 2. Did the termite damage seem to compromise any of the support beams. We were pleased to find out that there was no detectable mold behind the walls, and he felt that the termite damage was not bad enough to replace any beams or studs. Jason had to come back the following week to complete the wood frame installation and the sewer vent work, but that was acceptable and agreed upon up front. Now that the work is completed, we feel like the dining room and kitchen is 'clean' again, and everything looks great. We also noticed that we no longer smell sewer gas in our basement and attic, so we are very pleased with the outcome of this potentially health-threating situation.

They told us we did not have mold, but it was something that happens to cinderblock walls. They said we could do a mold test, and chances were that it would come back positive because most homes have mold, but they could tell we did not have a serious problem. They informed me that the mold we have is not a serious problem. They advised to have someone inspect the house if we ever sell the home, and that then would be the time to hire a remediator. I found them to be very honest, and respected them for being very honest. They were incredibly helpful and very high class.

We were concerned about a few spots on the ceiling of our unfinished basement. We called American Mold Experts. Bruce arrived on time, did a complete inspection and took samples for testing. He offered some great advice on ways to prevent mold development in a home. The results of the test were returned within 72 hours. We were very happy to hear that we did not have a mold problem.

I think they are very professional and very thorough in their testing procedures. The price of $300 was very fair for the in-depth test results that I received. Only one negative that I can mention is that it took a week longer to get the tests results back than I had been told. Because this is a rental home and because I am unfamiliar with dealing with a mold problem, I wanted a second opinion. I called another Mold remediation company listed on Angies List.

Everyone I delt with in this company was pleasant and professional. They care about doing a good job, and they know how to take care of mold issues. If you are having a mold problem, I'll highly recommend you contact this company.

Made the initial call to see if they could do testing in our basement for mold and mildew. Talked with Julie about our case and she had an appointment scheduled the next week. Bruce came out and tested our basement fully got air tests as well as images and left swab tests for us to use if we found anything. Reviewed an inital thoughts and provided three possible options based on the initial discussion. Provided test analysis the next day and made a recommendation. After talking with him several times over the next couple days a plan was determined with possible alternatives for each step we did. It was left to proceed with the recommendation of no service at this time but if the issue was not cleared up then more work could be performed.

They originally came out quickly & right on time . Did a thorough inspection of crawl and attic and said they would get an estimate in day or two. Their original guy failed to get back to me for couple of weeks. He subsequently left the company without letting American know about my estimate. Tony Ulrey, VP of operations, finally got back to me, and gave me a discounted estimate due to their original guy dropping the ball. After agreeing to their estimate, their responsiveness has been great. My condo was filled with mold in attic and crawl. We could not get it dry enough for American to begin work and Tony worked very hard to dry the place up, bringing in his own dehumidification equipment, reconfiguring the crawl space drainage system, extending downspouts ect. He also repaired some of the wood flooring under the carpet that had rotted away. After working with us for over a month with many return visits, the work was completed and we have an independent lab result clean of mold. American is providing a 12 mo warranty and indicated he would come back to test again in a couple of weeks before we place the condo for sale just to make sure its still OK.

He came within forty five minutes of my call. They were called by another company to come over to look over the project. I am looking at other companies and quotations still for the project.

He was good. He came out and did an initial test with the test tube, which never worked that accurate because it turned out positive. They took hard samples, and set them into the lab. They turned out to be clean. I am not giving them downgrade because of that; but they put in a scare into us. There was remediation, which we didn't have to use and would be the best that I found because they use a new technology to kill mold. Other technologies such as bleach won't even kill it. They have a nice technology, and I don't think so it is official, or approved by the federal government; but I can say it is the best right now. His charge was higher, and Angie's list had it for a price; but he had to do some extra samples. We got an insurance claim as we had a roofers come out and leave our roof uncover during the rainstorm, which came through my ceiling. This is how it all started. The insurance company was paying, so they were not too much concerned about it. They lost my sample, and it was held up. I had to wait for a long time. It wasn’t their fault to lose out my sample.

We called American Mold Experts to treat a small area of non-toxic mold in our crawl space. They were responsive, very professional, thoroughly explained the test results and the method of remediation. They were the only company I could find that did not use harsh chemicals; this was important because we have young children and wanted the safest method of removal. Definitely recommend.

It was very frustrating at first because we could not locate the problem or the source of the mold. However, American Mold stuck by their contract and their word. they came out several times, did four separate treatments, and solved the problem. no additional funds were necessary beyond the initial payment of $1,521. overall, i was very happy with their services and would recommend them to anyone with an ongoing mold issue.
