From start to finish I was very pleased with this company. My wife and I are looking to purchase a home and the black staining in the attic was a big concern, as it looked like mold. So, I went on the List and found this company b/c of the coupon offer they were offering for a mold test and inspection. When I called, Toni answered and she was very flexible on setting up an appointment that fit my schedule to have the test done later in the evening the following week. She also said she would email me the contact info for the person coming out to do the test. Sure enough I received an email the next day with the gentleman's name, a photo and cell number. The day of the test, David met me & my Realtor at the home. He was very professional, explained everything in detail and took his time listening to my concerns and gave answers that were not confusing or over my head. He did not try to pressure me into doing anything and simply made suggestions on what could be done down the road, like having an air sample test done. I received the mold test results a day later and it did show that we had mold in the attic. A BIG concern for us. However, after talking to David about the test, we felt very comfortable moving forward. He explained that the type of mold was very common and not to let it scare us. (we researched each type of mold on the report and pretty much everything David said was right on point). I cannot say enough good things about my whole experience with this company and would have no problem referring them to family and friends.

Bruce arrived on day one to assess the job and answer our questions. He then went to the basement and did an overview of the situation. Our basement had an accumulation of 30+ years and stuff from both parent's households, which we told him would be cleared up before they arrived. We liked what we heard and signed a contract. Periodically we got calls to see how we were doing on getting the basement ready for them. We had an approximate start daie of 10 days. As we worked on the basement we realized what a big goal we had set and reset it for one month later. They were very agreeable to the changes in work schedule. I ended up with 200 tubs of stuff neatly arranged and ready for remediation. The week prior to the established date Braden called to see if we were still on schedule. We were. He asked if we had any more questions that we'd come up with about the process. We did and I asked them. He said if we came up with any more to just give him a call. The morning of the remediation arrived along with bad driving weather. Jon called the night before to give us a heads up about the possibility of bad weather for driving in the AM, They were scheduled to arrive at 8:30. We got a call about 8:20 saying that they were about 30 min away and that traffic had been very slow. They arrived in a timely manner and we looked over the work that they were scheduled to do for us: the basement as well as around the two bathroom shower enclosures. The entire team was polite and listened as I answered and asked questions. We did choose to leave the house during the process. They had told us that there was an odor and that some people vacated due to that. We also had a cat and it was suggested that she not be here during it also. When they finished, they called and let us know that they'd finished. They had locked up the house as per my instructions. When we returned to the house there was still some remaining odor since they'd also done work in the bathrooms on the main level. (ranch home) We were very pleased with the work that had been done. Everything had been cleaned in the basement area. I had asked that they remove the old shower doors and that had been done also. It looks so much nicer with the curved rod and shower curtain and it's so much easier to clean! I wish I had had them remove the doors in the other bathroom too! Braden called on Monday to ask how it went on Friday. I told him we were pleased. He asked if he could come out and do the follow-up testing. He came the next day, Tuesday and did the readings. Again, always asking what we thought, if we were happy, etc. Any questions? Wed. he called with our test results. He said that they looked good.

Called American Mold when we discovered mold in crawl space. They came out within a day and inspected just the crawl space...not the attic or HVAC. Quoted $4200.00 to remediate 1550 sq ft of crawl space. Crew came out a few days later and began work. Took approximately 4-5 hours for 2 man crew. Remediated crawl and fogged house/HVAC. During first visit they busted the water line coming in from well. They did repair the busted water line. Supervisor came out a few days later to inspect work and take air samples to send to lab. He ended up having crew come out again as work was not satisfactory. Again, a few days later another inspection was done and air samples taken. All seemed good until we received an offer on our home about 2-3 weeks later. Mold was found in the crawl AND furnace during the buyers inspection. Called company and they came out to inspect again. Took air samples and swabbed a sample in furnace. We had a mold issue again. Another crew came out to remediate entire crawl and furnace. A day later we decided to remove panel on furnace to make sure job was done to satisfaction and to our surprise we found multiple locations with mold still in furnace. Company sent out a guy to clean furnace again. Finally we had a furnace remediated to satisfaction and an air sample from crawl within acceptable limits. Unfortunately all of this cost us our buyer on the home plus many days of arranging time off from work or having someone available to let the crew in to work. I found American Mold Experts responsive to my calls and concerns but I seriously question the quality of work their crews provide. Plus, I am now questioning the enzyme they use to "kill" the mold. I was excited at first that it was an organic and safe method but I just don't know now. It is a good thing they offer a warranty because we sure needed to use it. Because of the repeated visits to get the job done, I will not be using them if I should ever need a mold remediation company in the future nor will I recommend them. ***UPDATE TO PROVIDER RESPONSE*** We fixed the "more than one issue" as instructed by American Mold and still the mold returned! And please understand by "responsive to my calls" I meant I felt they were simply trying to appease me while accomplishing nothing.

They had surface test markers. They were my kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms. It was very quick. I feel like they tried to scare me and say I have a lot of mold which is not true. I would have to pay $7800 to get rid of the mold. The report they gave me looked it was written by an 8th grader. I got an another professional estimate which did an air quality test and their results came out totally different. I was pulled by the advertising.

There were very professional and friendly.

I had mold in my first floor bathroom. A representative came out and did the examination of the home in order to try find what had caused the mold to develop in the first place. I spent approximately $250 for that. He told me what he thought was going on and then proposed a solution to rectify the situation. The solution involved removal of a wall and the wrapping of a duct. He told he was busy and that it would take a couple of weeks before he would be able to get back to me with an estimate. I told him no problem as the mold problem was not that bad. I did not hear back from him. Six weeks later I called his office and left a message with his secretary asking for him to call me. I did not hear back from him. After another six weeks passed I called their office again and left a message with the same secretary asking for him to call me. Also at that time I asked the secretary whether she had given him the message when I had called six weeks prior. She told me she had. I never heard from him after that second phone call. I then called a rehabber I know who rendered a completely different diagnosis and proposed a completely different solution. That solution a year later appears to have worked swimmingly.

I didn't like American Mold Experts at all. What I didn't like about him was that he tried to get me to another $9000 worth of services. I also didn't like that they did the test and that I didn't get a copy of the test results. I called them and they said they didn't find mold on the first floor the house. That the mold was cleaner in the house then on the outside. Then they asked when I wanted the remediation and I said I didn't really want the remediation. I didn't like the fact it wasn't about trying to save me money or just doing what might be needed, it was about I want you to do the whole damn house. It sounded like they had a really good product with enzymes and stuff, but I didn't need it. He was trying to sell me $9000 worth of stuff that I didn't need. I thought to myself that if he really thought I needed it he would of done a mold test in my basement to prove it to me. I was disappointed. When I called the office and asked for a copy of the mold test and I got the CEO or someone and he was upset that I had a problem. I think I was a lot smarter than the guy thought I was. I know that there is a scientific way to do this stuff and that if you want to sell $9000 worth of work you don't just do a fly by night type of test. It really made me mad. The way the company CEO responded, I don't think that is how the whole company is. This guy didn't seem to be that interested in all the work the other company did and that I had to leave my house for an entire day while they had worked. I may use them in the future, but only if I knew the situation. I would not let them tell me what needed to be done. I would let them suggest what to do and then get a second opinion.

They saved the sale of my home. Their was mold found in an inspection, and they identified the causes and gave me a plan for remediation that would have a transferable warranty. Not a pleasant experience, but they made it turn out well.

The men were friendly but got right to work! There was no strong odor but they did suggest we could got for a few hours. They worked for 7 hours. Then we went downstairs the next day, our rooms were so well organized and clean. They will be back in one week to make sure there is no growth.

I was closing on my house and was informed by my mortgage company on Fri 12/7 that we couldn't close until the mold had been taken care of. I called American Mold Experts the same day, and Andrew White came out on Saturday morning to do the inspection. I had 2 other companies quote the job and felt that Andrew was not only the most knowlegable of the 3 he explained the process and timeframe to me. The price was in between the 2 other quotes. After telling Andrew that I needed this done on early in the week in order to be ready to close a week later, he did everything he could to accomodate my needs and was able to shift another job around to fit me in. The team that came out on Monday 12/10 were timely and great to work with. The lead, another Andrew, explained what they needed to do and again the whole process which was 2 days. On the second day, they made me aware of a leak in the crawl and made sure that I had a plumber come out to inspect before they continued. Finally, while waiting for the post-remediation report to come back, Andrew White contacted me on Friday night to let me know that everything was ok and made sure that I was sent the report Saturday morning. A great experience from beginning to end and I would highly recommend them!

We chose American Mold Experts based on the great reviews on Angie's List - they lived up to the great reviews! When calling to set up an appointment, we were greeted with friendly service and were delighted to get an inspection the next day. Appointments are set to be at a certain time, not a time window - Love this! An email reminder with a photo of our inspector was an added bonus. Very professional. Bruce F. was our inspector. He was very personable and professional. He came right on time for the appointment, and took his time to inspect our home - he didn't seem rushed. Examined the humidity of the air and walls in our basement. He thoroughly explained to us why he thought we might have mold growth, what types of mold, and what AME's remediation processes were during this time. Bruce seemed very knowledgeable and had a scientific and layman's explanation for all questions. I appreciated that he understood that this was a pricey process and gave us everyday tips and longterm solutions on how to keep our house mold-free outside of AME's scope of work. It was clear that he was here to help us solve a problem, not just to make money. Ramona and another employee worked through the actual mold remediation. The next day, I can notice a significant difference in my allergy symptoms! Visibly, the bathroom was completely cleaned up like new. In our basement, visible signs of mold growth on our tabletops were gone. Dust and particles on our floor joists looked very clean as well. I appreciated that Ramona had looked at ALL of our boxes in our basement for growth. She found a box that we had missed ourselves! My only disappointment was that our walls are still somewhat discolored maybe because of the porousness of our basement, though I was reassured that the process completely destroys mold and its spores particularly through the fogging process. I wish I had asked more questions about this discoloration at time of inspection. Overall, I'm very happy with the professionalism and services. I would recommend American Mold Experts to anyone particularly for their punctuality, professionalism, and pricing.

I found this company via Google..which was great !! The estimator came out and reassured me that everything would be just fine and he would be able to remove the mold in my attic which set my mind at ease. The price was well within my budget considering the mold was a complete shock to me and I was moving out of state in less than a month. The people at AME worked with me every step of the way and I felt very comfortable with them. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Overall this was a great experience! We called yesterday and they were here a day later. Bruce showed up on time and very prepared. American Mold Experts are appropriately named. They know mold and that is all they do (well indoor air quality too). We have talked to other experts that were environmental specialist but did not give us the details and experience Bruce provided. So a lesson learned go with the experts not some companies that do a little bit of everything including mold inspections. 4393 Hidden Oaks LaneOur scenario is we put a contract on a house that we really liked but had mold issues. This was a very expensive house that was only a few years old. The house was remediated for mold but still had a musty smell. We are supposed to close in two weeks so decided to pay for our own inspection. So glad we did because the mold is still there. I would highly recommend this company for any mold issues you may have.

I paid to have the same evaluation of mold in my home that 3 other service providers did for thee. Did not go with this provider because of the price and the fact that they would treat mold but did not suggest recommendation of root cause for mold.

I was cleaning our home and moving our furniture one day in Sept. When I moved our couch, I found mold. It was on our carpet, couch and in our vents. Our insurance agent referred us to American Mold Experts. I called American Mold Experts as soon as we hung up. They were very professional. They came from Indianapolis to Fort wayne the next day! They came to house and took air samples and swabs to have tested in the lab to verify. They were very knowledgable on mold causes and prevention. We had several other people out that the actual insurance provider wanted to use to inspect the home and neither one knew anything about mold, waste of time. Knowing that American Mold Experts guaranties their work they were a great help and the obvious choice to go with for remediation. They came back out quickly to perform the work. It took two days to clean everything in the house. They came back out a few days later to take new samples and everything was clear. Along with their 100% guarantee we can have them come back out every year to inspect the house. Before this I didn't realize how common a problem mold is in peoples homes and was very surprised how most inspectors and engineers that were sent out knew nothing about mold! Was happy with the results and would recommend their services to others.

The workers were knowledgeable and punctual. They were clean and did no damage to any property while performing the remediation. We were gone from the home while the work was performed. ALL workers were respectful and kind--nothing was stolen as had unfortunately happened to us in the past from another company. I would definitely refer this company its owners, workers and its products. It has been a year now and a reinspection of the troubled areas was performed. All treated areas remain clean and mold-free.!! Great work from a Great company!

After discovering black mold in a corner room in the basement. AME dispatched a team quickly. They conducted an on-site inspection that included air quality testing. They provided a thorough explanation of what to expect during the remediation. The on-site remediation took a few days and much care was taken to keep the collateral damage to the rest of the house to a minimum. The crew was responsive, professional and friendly. The cost was high but reasonable.

Each person I met, from sales people who first assessed my home, supervisor and the people that treated my home, were very polite, professional and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this company for mold remediation!

Everything requested was performed well and at the quoted price. While the price was fairly high, the work and workmanship was excellent. Yes, we would employ them again for similar work.

Almost immediately after moving into our first house which passed its home inspection with flying colors, things began to go downhill. We experienced progressively worsening symptoms including: almost daily mild to severe headaches, nasal and sinus congestion, profusely runny nose, sneezing, itchy throat, itchy eyes, and extreme chronic fatigue. The fatigue was so severe that many days we wanted to come home after work, eat dinner, and go to bed. We're in our late 20s, so this is not normal!! The second issue was the persistent, unidentifiable odor in the house. We primarily noticed the odor when entering the house after being gone for a long time (ex: coming home after work every day). For months we tried to rule out possible causes of our symptoms. It wasn't until we went out of town for a week that we confirmed our house was making us sick. While out of town, all symptoms were gone and we felt great. Within hours of returning home, we felt terrible again! That was when we called Tom and American Mold Experts. An initial representative came to collect air samples for a test and provide an assessment of the problem and an estimate. His assessment after inspecting the house and reviewing the air sample results was that the lower level of the tri-level needed to be treated and no drywall would likely need removed. Afterwards, Tom, the manager overseeing the actual work crew, came to assess. The job quadrupled in price, required full-house treatment including the crawlspace, and considerable drywall removal. It seemed the original inspector would have benefited from some additional experience before working independently. Tom came back after the mold remediation crew had been here and the air samples were rechecked, and there was still room for improvement. So they came back to do work a second time. The enzyme used to clean the air and surfaces left a film on everything it came into contact with. After both the first and second times the house was treated, we had to clean our entire house and essentially all of its contents by hand to remove the leftover film. It was a lengthy process from start to finish, around two months. However, the mold is gone, our house doesn't smell, and we feel healthy again!! In addition, the enzyme used is the most environmentally friendly product we could find. Considering its application over our entire house, this was very important to us, and made us feel more comfortable coming back to our space during the clean-up process. Tom was an excellent person to deal with throughout the process. He went above and beyond to spend time answering our questions and demonstrated professionalism. Tom identified sources of the mold growth and proposed concrete recommendations for relatively simple modifications to prevent mold from growing in the areas again. He even diagnosed a completely unrelated plumbing issue in our crawlspace that would have caused us major problems in the future. Having gone through this experience, we firmly believe having Tom come out to do an air test for mold should be part of everyone's initial inspection when buying a home.
