We had them out because the new roof we had put on they forgot to put in vents so we got mold. The roofing company paid for the mold remediation. I decided to use them because I saw them on Angie's List and my son had talked to them. I would recommend them. They were here when they said they would be. They got done pretty much when they said. They did what they said they were going to do in the time they said they were going to do it.

These guys are excellent and ethical. All remediation companies appear to be looking for any excuse to throw in fans, dehumidifiers, and tear out your floors and drywall for. $8000. I had a 3ft by 1ft patch of black mold in my attic. The guys taught me how to remove it myself. They really want to do the right thing and focus on real health risks. They are honest, intelligent, and ethical.

The inspector was very personable and professional! We enjoyed him. He was on time a very courteous.

Bruce was great to work with., These guys aren't the cheapest, but I am alergic to mold and was tired of being miserable when working from home. Bruce came in and did a thorough testing and review. We did get some other estimates, and they were a bit cheaper, but it seemed like the other guys did mold remediation as a side line. I was impressed by AMEs methodology and thoroughness. So, in the end we decided to use AME. The work team was prompt and worked hard while they were here. They did a thorough job and cleaned up a lot of the mess in my work room and storage area. I bought plastic storage tubs for them to use so we could discard old cardboard boxes as well. I am VERY happy that I am now comfortable in my home office, and anywhere in my basement. I am no longer embarassed to take people into my basement or rec room.

Once mold was discovered from begining to ending American Mold Experts responded quickly, completed thoroughly, and gave service worth the cost. The work needed to be done and AME was right for the job.

Upon returning from a trip, I discovered mold on the sidewall of my basement. Not being familiar with this issue, I researched information on the internet and learned about American Mold Experts. I went to their website where the concept and principle behind the process and the product made sense and looked good to me. Bill Nicoll and his team completed an inspection and testing to determine the situation and I followed their recommendation for remediation. Bill and the employees were knowledgeable and I was satisfied with the experience. but what really also attracted and sold me on the program the the lifetime warranty guaranteeing that mold will not reappear in treated areas. I found that others do not offer that. I would recommend American Mold Experts.

We purchased our home one year ago. The previous homeowners had a leak in the basement which lead to a mold problem that was remediated. We had no new leaks, yet somehow the mold returned. Our pool table (which is in the basement) had mold growing underneath and all over the legs. In our research for the best treatment method, we found that the enzyme used by American Mold Experts appeared to be the best way to remove the mold (since it appeared the previous encapsulation method that was used had not worked). To keep the cost lower, other companies had suggested we only clean the basement (since the source of the mold was there). However the type of mold present was airborne and our HVAC is in the basement. There was mold on our babies' furniture upstairs. It didn't make sense to us that someone would recommend only cleaning the basement. American Mold Experts recommended cleaning the entire home, and even stated they wouldn't take the job without doing our entire home. At first we thought, "Of course they want to clean the whole house...it's more money!" But the more we spoke with them the more we realized they were trying to do what was best for our family. We decided to go with American Mold Experts for two main reasons: their treatment method and their warranty. Over the course of four days, they cleaned EVERY item in our home. At first I didn't believe they would actually wipe down every single item, but I entered our home while they were working and saw a gentleman standing on a ladder in our family room with all the books removed from the shelves. He was flipping through and wiping each one before replacing it onto the shelf! The enzyme they use penetrates the furniture, carpet, etc. Other companies we spoke to recommended replacing the carpet, pool table, and some of our furniture after remediation. American Mold Experts were able to remove the mold from the pool table and we didn't have to replace any flooring or furniture. American Mold Experts guarantee their work. If the mold returns (not due to new leaks, etc.) they will retreat at no charge. We know they honor this warranty. They re-tested for mold after remediation and when they did some of the counts were not as low as they would have liked. They came back and retreated our pool table and basement for free. When we spoke to the companies who were involved in the previous remediation (who also claim to offer a warranty), they made no offer to help us resolve the issue even though they knew the mold they had treated had returned with no new leaks. The greatest benefit of having our home cleaned was the improved health of our family. Our children were born premature and already had respiratory issues, but over the past few months they had chronic runny noses and colds which made their issues worse. Once we learned about the mold we started looking at the timeline of the odor appearing in our home and the timing of when the babies were sick...it all began around the same time. I am not a medical doctor, but I truly believe the mold was causing their sickness because since our home was remediated our children have only had ONE runny nose (due to allergies from spending an afternoon in the corn maze!). My husband and I were also taking allergy medicine like Zyrtec and Claritin more than usual, thinking it was just seasonal allergies. Since the remediation we have had no other problems and no need for medication. Our frequent headaches are gone as well. American Mold Experts helped us to make a bad experience like having your home infested with mold as pleasant as possible. They were professional and considerate. While definitely not the cheapest company offering mold remediation services, I would say they are the best of all the companies we spoke to. The cost of the remediation took the place of some remodeling we had hoped to do, but it was worth every penny.

My call for a proposal/bid was answered promptly. An appointment was made and the representative arrived on-time. After competitive bids were received, I determined American Mold Experts were, although expensive, best suited for my situation. Another meeting with the representative and owner was arranged where terms and timing were agreed. A contract was signed and less than one week later the work was done. This is the second house American Mold Experts has treated for me. Their transferrable "Renewable Lifetime Warranty" has been key to buyers when the house was ready for sale.

The remediation has not been done at this time. We were very pleased with the thorough sampling and the educational presentations.

I contacted American Mold Experts last October because we were noticing damp smell in our nursery. We thought perhaps the smell was coming from our ductwork, but when we had a professional out to our home working on our HVAC system, he noticed that the corners of the windows in the baby's room had been painted over where paint had slid and the drywall was soft. He suggested we contact an environmental company, so I chose AME due to their reviews on Angie's list and the special they were running for a $239 whole home mold inspection including air testing. I thought that was a superb value, and scheduled immediately. Bruce came out to our home on October 16 for the inspection. Bruce was very nice and personable, but he didn't give me a huge amount of confidence in being thorough. Basically,once he saw the soft spot next to the window, he poked his tester in and got a positive mold reading and that was about it. He said there was no need to charge us for the whole home inspection (239) that I had asked for because he had found the problem and would just charge me the $150 basic inspection fee. He was confident that the windows had been installed with the improper screws and that was what was causing the leaking. He had a friend who could come out and replace the screws for $75, and AME would remediate the mold for the low, low price of $1750. At this point, I am pregnant and I have a toddler who is using the nursery and I just want my kids to be safe. I definitely felt like he wasn't completely thorough and I kept asking him questions about why we smelled the smell in other areas, at different times, etc and he couldn't really give me definitive answers but felt like he had solved the problem. I showed him a mold spot in my garage and he didn't bother to investigate the cause, just said they would go ahead and throw in treating that for an extra $100. Once again, I am completely trusting these people because I have no idea about home construction or mold. The next week, Bruce returned with a few buddies from AME who puttered around the outside of my house and told me that they were sure if I got the screws replaced the windows would be fine, etc, etc. Later that week, we had the mold treated. At this time, I was anticipating a huge amount of mold to be removed to match with the damp smell we experienced. Not the case. When the gentleman (who was very kind, courteous and professional) came to remove the mold, he barely had to cut into our drywall at all and removed less than a foot around each corner and minor mold spots before treating with the special enzyme in the whole room. It took him about an hour. At this point, I am embarrased that I just paid over $1800 for all of this, and now I have a huge mess to clean up (enzyme sticky stuff all over everything, drywall dust after the repair, repainting of the wall in nursery, etc) however, I just want to move on. If this is what we had to do to make our baby safe, we did it and now we are done. i also had all of our ductwork cleaned and treated with the company Bruce recommended at an additional expense of $550 and purchased a dehumidifier at his recommendation for another $200. I will also add that when I had the screws replaced, the man who came to replace them said that the window screws that had been used were, in fact, the proper ones. So, he just added some extra washers and called it a day. I didn't fill out a review on the list because I was feeling pretty ambivalent about the whole thing, and I just decided to move on. All is good. Until the spring. We notice the EXACT SAME SMELL again. I contact Bruce only to find out he is no longer with the company. They agree to send out another technician at no charge to us, so that week Dave comes out to our house. He is so friendly and personable. He doesn't do any testing, but inspects things visually. Our attic looks good, but some water is getting into our crawlspace, so he suggested that maybe that was the cause and the smell is just traveling up from the basement through the ductwork. He promises to come back with the special camera they have to see if our windows are leaking, and I tell him I will follow up after we have the other work done. I follow up with Dave, but I don't hear from him, but $3000 and a new concrete patio and vapor barrier in our crawlspace later, we think we have it taken care of. Later, we came to find out Dave also left the company. Now it is fall. The smell has returned. In the nursery. Again. Are our windows leaking? Do we have mold in our house? Is our baby safe? We don't know. I contacted AME to follow up, and was contacted by phone by a very nice gentleman who listened to all of my concerns and basically told me there was nothing they could do for me, except give me a full house mold inspection at the Angie's list member price of $239. There was no warranty on the work I had done. Also, the "follow up" testing was done at the time of service, and no follow up testing is included at a later date. Even though the technician who worked on my home had expressed that verbally, I saw when I inspected the fine print that the warranty portion of the contract had been crossed out because of the type of work that was performed. I find paying them an additional $239 to follow up to be an unacceptable offer. This was the service I scheduled the first time, and only didn't receive it because the technician that was sent to my house thought he was "helping" my saving me a few dollars (charging me $150 instead of $239 for what was obviously not the best inspection for the situation and a far inferior value). I have so little trust in their company right now, and I do not think that I will pay to have them do the same work they should have done the first time around, particularly considering the significant investments my family has made in our home based upon their recommendations. I already felt I had wasted our family's hard earned money before. I believe it would be in AMEs best interest to send their most experienced technician out to my home to see if the window in the nursery (or anywhere else in my house for that matter) is, in fact, leaking as both Bruce and Dave had promised, if there is mold somewhere else that has not been detected, and as a measure of good faith include air mold testing (like the kind that would have been done last October if Bruce had done the service I scheduled.) If we do still have mold, I would then possibly feel comfortable paying them to remediate. If they do not feel it is important to reach out in this manner, I will be selecting another company from the List for our mold problem and this review will stand.

The inspection left nothing to chance. All areas were inpected for mold and test samples were gathered for the lab. The information left by the inspector gave me insight into mold, the process of remediation and health implications of mold toxicity. The inspector told me why he was looking into certain areas and what he was looking to find. If he found something that looked like mold he noted it in his report. Once he found heavy growth, he took a swab sample. He also did an air sample to determine if the microscopic spores had been release throughout the house. I had great confidence in the inspection and testing that Enzcycle performed.

They were very professional and courteous. They understood my concerns and got to it. Lately, I have been very leery of the contractors I have requested services from. In the past, all I get is up-sell, up-sell, and more up-sell. The AME weren't pushy, and indicated what needed to be done. They indicated what services they provide post-inspection and got back to me with the results of the inspection in good order. I was happy with the assessment and the service. I would use them again.

I had called several times with questions and Mona who answered the calls was very helpful. She put me through to Ian to discuss matters in further detail. He was very nice and informative. We spoke several times and I decided to have them do the inspection. Within a few days a subcontracted inspector came to my home for the mold inspection and testing. He was punctual, polite, informative, and very thorough. He completed two swab samples and three air samples. Several days later when the lab results were back, Ian called to schedule an appointment to discuss the results. He came to my home the next day. He was punctual and friendly. He had a contract prepared and I declined as the cost was too much. We discussed what I could do myself to save money. We came up with a fair price on the job to be done by AME. This consisted of a remediation of our crawl space and cleaning and fogging the duct work. When I called to schedule the job, the amount no longer included cleaning the ductwork, only fogging. Ian apologized for the miscommunication and said it was likely his fault . He advised that he had been as aggressive as possible with the total job cost and it must have led to the confusion. He offered a small discount, but instead he deducted the inspection cost off the total as Mona had advised the inspection cost would apply to any remediation done by AME. Ultimately, I was very leery of providers trying to take advantage of the situation. So the confusion made me uncomfortable and I chose to go with another provider. Every person I dealt with at AME was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The confusion could have been an honest mishap, but I decided to go with another provider.

They never showed up to start the work. I had taken the day off of work to be here when they were here. I called them and they didn't even have me scheduled for any work at all at any point in time! I cancelled the contract and requested my deposit returned. They only returned half of my deposit and are keeping the other half. They haven't even done any work at all and feel justified to keep over $900 of my money that I earned. I want ALL of my money back!

We had an initial assessment of 'cottony' spots on the joists in the crawlspace after a very wet spring and early summer. We used the coupon from angies list for a discounted initial assessment price. The assessment was very thorough with air and possible mold samples taken in the crawlspace and house. We accepted the contract and 2 technicians, Craig and Tom, worked for one full day with Craig returning for part of a second day to remediate the mold in the crawlspace and install a vapor barrier over the soil. 72 hours later another technician returned to inspect the crawlspace and to again take air samples The technicians were very courteous and professional at all times. They had to travel from Indianapolis to Ft Wayne to perform the inspections and the remediation.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. It turned out quite nicely, actually, because they found mold by my house so it worked out really well. They were here with no punctuality problems.

In September 2010 American Mold came to our home and inspected for mold in our home due to my wife's severe allergies to mold. They found mold and said in order for remediation to occur we had to have an EZBreathe machine installed by A1 Waterproofing or they would not be able to remediate. The purpose of the EZBreathe machine was to reduce the humidity so that the remediation would be effective. We purchased the EZBreathe machine through A1 Waterproofing and they installed it. The machine did not work. As a result, my wife was having adverse allergic reactions and could not go in our basement. In March 2011, we recontacted American Mold and informed them of the issue. American Mold came back out and determined there was still mold, and admitted that the first remediation was unsuccessful. And when they came to re-remediate they did not comply with the standards required to contain the mold and prevent it from spreading through our home. As a result, we continued to have mold. Then Tom Ulry (President of American Mold) came to our house and acknowledged that American Mold had not done things the right way and he would make it right. He additionally promised that after it was made right, American Mold would follow up in the Spring/Summer of 2013 to do a complimentary testing of the entire basement. And that they would do a complimentary light fog to ensure that there is no mold. He then said that if they did find mold that needed to be remediated, he would do a complimentary remediation so he could be done dealing with the problem. In addition to all of this, we purchased 2 separate annual warranties that were not honored. In sum, through the course of over 3 years of problems with remediation and water issues, American Mold has breached its contract with us several times the latest of which regards an oral agreement for them to come to our home at their cost and perform a full basement inspection and light fogging to ensure that the mold that was supposedly remediated was actually done so in a proper fashion. American Mold refuses to do so. Not only are they in breach of contract, but they have failed mutliple times to exercise the care and judgment homeowners/consumers should be afforded while present in a residence. In my best judgment, American Mold has been dishonest in their dealings and have failed to meet appropriate standards of care for their industry.

When we purchased the house and made an inspection, there were some molds, and we just wanted to make sure that it was something that could be repaired easily, and that it was not a major problem through out the house. It ended up a minor problem.

Entire team was gracious in dealings on the phone. Some initial mix ups regarding scope of work were resolved with professionalism. Feedback from other contractors that have since had to enter the crawl space indicate that the workmanship is excellent. Contractor fitting sump pump described as one of the best jobs he's seen. Highly recommend the AME team for folks in fear of being jerked around by contractors.

Dave arrived on time to the residence. He thoroughly inspected the whole house--basement, first floor and attic. He was continually informing me of what I should be looking for and how mold starts to grow as well as what he saw. He did not find any mold but said that every house has some mold. This particular house is in the woods by a creek and is bound to be more humid than most. He suggested two dehumidifiers and to be vigilant about looking for water leaks, etc. I was so relieved that nothing was found. It was well worth the $99 I was charged for the peace of mind.

Happy with service and follow up.

You paid for that service but there was no follow up on it. We had to kind of figure it out for ourselves after we got the results.

It took a day, we had to be away from the home for about two hours after it was sprayed

We had a mold test inspection performed on a house we are purchasing. My husband was present at the inspection and said the technician explained what he was testing and why. The results came back fast and we were happy with the entire experience.

This was a great experience. Dave was very professional. We will be using him and his company in the future when we purchase our next home.
