Wayne Roberts and his team were excellent to work with. Wayne took the time to discuss my issue, provide a strong solution to the need, and work with me to structure a flexible and competitive offer. In all of our conversations, he's been professional, consultative, and fair. He cares about his customers and truly enjoys helping people, as he knows this leads to long term business success. A1 did a fantastic job for me, as well as my brother who referred them to me. These guys are the ones to hire if you want the job done right, and to have a partner to rely on long term.

Excellent team work by workers to remove existing crawl space materials, communication & clean up. Installation was very well coordinated.

The work crews reported to work on the day agreed upon, and the project progressed in a timely fashion. The work was performed by experienced workers, and supervised by experienced supervisors. The crew leaders supervising the work were happy to describe what they were doing and how they were doing it. The work was performed per the specifications of the contract. Additionally, all items verbally agreed to be performed by the contractor, not written into the contract, were performed without question. Wayne, the owner, was available when I called with questions during the project period. I talked to Wayne more than one time. Mark came first to inspect the damage, determine what was needed to fix the damage, and produced our contract. Wayne came to assure the work specified in the proposed contract was adequate to correct our issues. He assured the work would be mutually acceptable before the agreement was finalized. After acceptance, at the agreed upon start date, work began. Ed supervised most of the work, and assured the quality of worker performance. I believe he assured my home was respected, and treated as it was his own home. Ed definitely knew his job. The main crew consisted of 6 staff members, all who worked hard. Derrick was Ed’s main assistant and he was very personable. Derrick seemed very capable and knowledgeable. Justin, Wayne’s son, came to complete the installation of the moisture control system (EZ Breathe System) with another crew. Justin came back to move the vent. (which I wanted moved because I made an error specifying the location) This required extra work, and I was not charged for the cost of the rework. I believe I got more value than had been mutually agreed upon, and the quality of workmanship was excellent. I never felt pressured from project start to finish. My bank arranged financing to pay the balance I owed, took longer than planned to actually become available. A1 was patient while waiting for the balance of their fee to be paid, and did not call excessively to inquire. I received pictures of the work that was performed. I will be asking A1 Indiana Waterproofing, Inc. to return as needed to perform periodic inspection. I highly recommend A1 to repair moisture damage to basements or crawlspaces. They will get the job done correctly and perform the contracted work in a timely fashion. We are very satisfied with the work performed.

Justin, Larry and the entire crew were awesome and very professional, you could really tell that this was much mo? To them than just a “job” I really appreciate the commitment that the entire team had. They did excellent work!

Not well. Tried to obtain an estimate. Their site stated that our house was in their service area and when we called, they stated that it was not. Waste of time.

The work was fine, but the service was so-so. The first time I called and had an appointment, they were out of the area, which I understand. But the next day he was supposed to come, he just forgot. They also nicked the laminated flooring. It wasn't a big deal, but it was a new floor.

The meeting went really well. The technician was thorough and spent time answering all of my questions. He was there for at least an hour or more and really increased my confidence in their service. He noticed some things about our foundation that technicians from other services did not notice. At the end of our meeting he said that he would send us a quote the following week. We did not receive a quote. After ten days I called the office and they told me that I needed to contact the technician myself, whose name I didn't have. They provided me with his name and phone number and I called him several times. I left several voice mails, which were not returned, and when I got him on the phone live he said he needed to "Check his records in his truck" and would get back to me in the afternoon. Needless to say, he never returned my call, and I will never be giving A-1 Indiana Foundation my business. They need to follow up with their technicians themselves and not rely on the customers to do it.

JB and crew arrived on time. They were very professional and courteous. JB explained the system, what they were going to do and time frame. The job was quoted as 3 days but they did it in two days staying late the second day to finish. JB noticed the sump pump lines were reduced and suggested they be changed to handle the excess water and not put a load on the system. They did a great job and cleaned up their mess. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone having water problems in their basement.

A-1 missed there first appointment when I took a day off work for them to come out. My grandparents also came down from Kokomo for the day so they wasted their time and gas for them to not show up too. So it didn't go well from the very beginning. I choose A-1 because I heard such good things about them. They told me if I have any water in my basement, they would take care of it as I would have a warranty on the waterproofing. They told me I have a different foundation but didn't consult with me when they did a difference process for the waterproofing then I was originally told. After the work was finished they didn't plug in the sump pump so we had water in our basement right after the waterproofing was finished! Scheduling that was a hassle, and my husband had to take a half day off work to be there when they cleaned up the water. Water was still coming in from some cracks they didn't think were deep enough or something to cause any water to come in. They did come back to fix that but now I'm having problems with the drain that they covered in cement. They wanted to charge me a service fee to come out and look at the drain that they covered in cement. Now we have to have a plumber come out and fix the drain, he's still hasn't given me an estimate on fixing it but it might be expensive. I really would like them to fix these issues and they don't seem to be concerned about water coming into my basement after they got paid for installing waterproofing!

The crew was spot on. I can't say enough good things about the crew leader.

A-1 Indiana Waterproofing had completed repairs in my crawl for a previous owner. I am currently selling my house and there was joist damage noted on the buyer?s inspection. I called them to give me an estimate for repair, since they had done work in the past on the house. I thought it was a good idea, but I was wrong. The women answering the phones made me jump through hoops including emailing her the prior contract from the prior owner. She also insisted I pay to transfer the contract into my name before she would send anyone to give me an estimate. That cost was $25, which was no problem. However, she would not take payment over the phone and I had to mail it to her prior to any communication about setting up an estimate. I explained on the phone and in email that the damage sighted on the inspection for my buyer did not appear to be in areas of prior repair but she still required all this extra legwork just to get a quote. I attempted to clarify if I would have to go through some many steps just to get an estimate for joist repair if her company had never done work on my house. At that time she told me her workers were booked until September, which would have never worked due to the repairs being needed to close on the sale of our house. The house being on the market was a point I was clear with her from the first phone call. I would not use this company due to it being difficult to use them in the first place.

The guy was scheduled to come out on Saturday at 9am. At 8:52 AM I received a call saying that he would be at my house at 9:30 AM. 9:30 came and went and I had to call him on his cell only to have him tell me that he was up in Avon (I live on the East side of Indy) and had just gotten on the interstate. I told him that I needed to cancel because I had things scheduled that I had to do and did not have time to wait. He said that he would get in touch with me the next day to see if I would be available for him to come then. I said, Okay, and that was the last I heard. Very unprofessional. I do not have time for and will not tolerate companies that do this to potential clients. If you can't keep and appointment, DON'T MAKE THE APPOINTMENT. At the very least, CALL. Don't keep me waiting around, YOU LOSE.

Team was very clean, professional and polite. Each day they arrived on time and worked very hard to complete the job in a timely manner. The quote we received is the final price that we paid even though as they started the removal of the basement floor, they found out that there was a second 4" floor underneath. The previous owners did not disclose that they had a second floor poured to help address water issues. We were very thankful to have gone with this company as others stated in their contract that if the flooring was more than 5" we would be charged additional per square foot. A-1 stayed true to their price!!! They trenched all around the basement 140+sq feet and hauled the concrete out in buckets. Once the trenching was complete they hauled in the rock and installed their gator system around the basement. They replaced two sump pumps and installed the EZ Breathe system to help with moisture and ventilation in the basement. The team made sure that everything was cleaned upon completion of the job.

I feel the process went very well overall. Either Wayne or a member of his staff would call me to keep me updated on the progress of the project, which took several days. I took my cats to a neighbor's house for the duration because of the noise and the dust. I liked that the contract he gave me was extremely detailed, so I felt secure in what I had paid for and what I was getting from the project. Any issue that I noticed was recognized and quickly attended to. (For instance, my utility sink was not properly reinstalled at the conclusion of the project, and when I mentioned it to Wayne, it was fixed the next day.) My only complaint is that the project created a lot of dust throughout the house. I knew this going in though, because Wayne warned me, so I turned off my heating and the fan and closed the vents in the basement. I also covered the items stored in my basement with plastic tarps that I secured to the floor. The concrete dust is very fine, and it moved around my small house pretty quickly. I had a fine dusting over nearly everything, so it took some time to get everything cleaned up again, going room by room. However, this minor inconvenience did not affect my happiness with the job. To have a habitable basement, I knew I needed to get this work done, and whenever 7 inches of concrete is jackhammered up from your floor, concrete dust will be created. In general, I think A-1 Indiana Waterproofing did a good job cleaning up, considering how dirty a job this was. I have not had any water in my basement since Wayne and his crew did the waterproofing for me. a couple of months ago. About a week after they finished up, 8 inches of snow melted quickly, and the new system handled it very well. The sump pump ran for some time keeping all of that water out of my basement, and I was happy knowing that water was not sitting around in my walls and foundation doing further damage. Since the waterproofing, I have primed and painted the basement walls, including the carbon fiber strips, and that project went incredibly well. Wayne said the strips could be easily painted, and you have to look very closely to even see them now. I think the Easy Breathe system has made a big difference in the overall air quality in the basement, and I would certainly recommend A-1 Indiana Waterproofing to anyone with similar basement issues. You'd be in capable hands with Wayne.

A-1 Waterproofing, (Avon, Indiana) completed a basement waterproofing job for us recently Wayne, the owner and manager of A-1, came to our home for a free inspection; he brought with him one of his lead foremen and showed up on time. We were impressed that he did the inspection on a Saturday to accommodate our busy schedule. His inspection was thorough both outside and inside of our home, searching for both residual water and water damage in the foundation, the basement walls, and floor for damage. Wayne thoroughly explained the various options for waterproofing our basement. He showed us exactly how the process worked from beginning to end, to include the products and tools necessary to complete the job. He then gave us a written estimate, which he based solely on his inspection without trying to underbid any competitors. The A-1 crew was prompt and professional; they began right away and didn?t stop working until the entire demolition portion was completed. All of the employees were respectful of our house, family, and children. The crew also limited any use of the yard for utility vehicles and left our yard and home just how they found it with zero damage. During the entire upgrade process, Wayne and his crew kept us informed often of the progress of the work and continually asked our input about everything, such as where we wanted our sump pumps. The crew never had anything but a good attitude and worked their best to get the job done to my satisfaction. During the job, the crew even found an eyesore pipe located in a poorly planned area of the basement. Without question and to my wife?s surprise and delight they moved it and covered it to code without us even mentioning it; my wife was very pleased. The office at A-1 always answers the phone, even often at non-office hours. Wayne even gave out his cell phone number as we were working in real time with the bank and wanted to help facilitate us having a smooth financing process. We had originally had a national branded company come out for an inspection before Wayne and A-1. We were not impressed with the aggressive attitude of the salesmen or the flashy and un-personable feeling of the inspection and the estimate. Even after Wayne and A-1 came later to also inspect, the national company tried to aggressively underbid A-1, in what we considered an unprofessional manner. Yet, we have been very happy so far with the overall professionalism of A-1 Waterproofing. The rainy season is here now and we have no more water in the basement! We can definitely say that we were impressed and happy with the fact we chose A-1 for our home repairs and upgrade. To date we are 100% satisfied with the work and the finished product.

Wayne Roberts (owner) looked over our basement and foundation and told us that there was no action required - that the flooding must have occurred due to rain spouts too close to the house or a drainage backup from the shower in the basement in conjunction with an extremely heavy rainstorm that occurred at the time this happened. He said that with actions we had already taken a repeat was unlikely to occur and suggested verifying that our homeowners insurance included drain backup should it ever happen again. Rarely do you find a company that does not try to take advantage and come up with a costly solution for the homeowner. Three big cheers for this company!!

Wayne thoroughly went throughout our basement looking things over, and at all times providing us with his recommendations. At the conclusion of his inspection Wayne said he didn't think we needed waterproofing and to go ahead, finish the basement and enjoy it! This was such a huge weight lifted from our shoulders as it was going to cost over $11,000 to waterproof the basement. Wayne was very professional presenting himself and his company and gave us an honest expert opinion, instead of selling us unnecessary work.

The salesman did not try to sell me anything. Instead conducted brief investigation and gave some free advice on simple things we could do to prevent water in future. As our drain system was pretty recent but not the type they install, he instead gave us the names of contractors that do install that system so we could look into warranty work. Would recommend this outfit to anyone in need of a waterproofing system.

Work on space was satisfactory, there were some issues and had to call in another contractor to fix. The Court became involved for partial reimbursement of monies paid, the case was settled. If anyone uses this company and A-1 send their foreman by the name of Ed White or Moore (which ever name he is using that day) turn him away. He highly unprofessional and this has been made aware to his company and they continue to employ him. My advice...caveat emptor.

It went very smoothly. The production manager on the job provided up to date information regarding the status of the project and took the time to explain how the system would work as well as handling all of my concerns. They arrived when they said they would arrive and provided daily status on the work. The team was very professionally and cleaned up very well when they were complete. They took the time to prep and wrap the areas they would be working and or walking through very thoroughly.

They did an exceptional job. It was not easy work. I am completely satisfied. They were timely and professional.

Did an excellent job. We have had no water issues in the basement since. It cost approximately $10,000 for a 1200 square foot basement and we added some coverings for the walls. It is a messy job that entails digging up concrete and laying pipe so not easy to do well but they did and covered ductwork areas, doorways going upstairs, etc. I would hire them again and give them A rating.
