Description of Work: I used them because of good review. They installed new drain and sump pump system. Good provider always takes care of customers when something does not go perfectly. A-1 did just that. I am pretty picky so they came to my house 3 times to ensure that I was perfectly happy and satisfied. Overall system works well. We had a lot of record level rain and did not have water in my basement after 1year of installation. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: They removed perimeter concrete in basement and installed drain pipe to two existing sump pits. They put pea gravel over drain pipes and poured and finished new concrete. The also installed downspout extensions out into yard to get water away from foundation. The crew worked very hard all day and finished all the work late that day. They did a good job and did everything they said would be done. The only complaint I had was the amount of dust, I was told there would be very little dust. I had a tremendous amount of dust throughout the house to clean up.

Description of Work: A1 is very client-focused and professional. Their estimator, Gene, is very informative and knowledgeable. A1 installed a 4 wall perimeter drain and sump gator system and it worked great through several small rains. After observing the water level go higher than comfortable during a MAJOR rain storm, I called A1 to express concerns. Wayne Roberts, the owner, personally met with us and sent a crew to replace the sump pump as a precaution. The team also patched a small leak in the back corner. The system works well and gives me peace of mind every time there is a storm. This is especially important after finishing the basement in the months following A1's work. I chose them over Advanced Restoration & Waterproofing, who proposed a much larger and expensive solution that I thought was overkill. Though there has been a cause for concern 1 time, I have confidence that they will support me and ensure a functioning system.

Description of Work: Let's begin with the original assessment: The were more thorough in their inspection than the other vendor. That's why the got the job. |I gave a B for punctuality because they were early. Not necessarily bad, but in this case, other vendors needed to move water heater and furnace were on site when they called to tell me they were coming. As it turned out, the other vendor was able to get out of the way in time. Had they come when scheduled, I would not have had to stress about it. Their return visit was as scheduled. |The other B was for the cleanup I'm still dealing with. I have a large basement with an office and their work involved using a jack hammer to take up a portion of the concrete flooring near a portion of the exterior wall in another room on the other side. This created a huge amount of dust which permeated every square inch of the basement. While I had items in the immediate area covered with plastic, the dust was so bad that it also covered everything in my office. Dust remediation is something they definitely need to either look at or advise their clients as to just how bad it's going to get. My electronic air filter is still working overtime and I now have purchased a large air purifier to help with the situation in my office area. |As for the work itself and the crew, they did as advertised with only a minor exception: During the sales call, the sales person pointed out cracks on two adjoining walls and said that they would take care of all of those if I wanted. One wall was addressed but the other was not. The crack that was not addressed was minor, so I wasn't too concerned, but I did contact the salesperson to have him come back out to see if the crack was too small as to need work. He never did show back up, but in the interim, I showed the crack to a different contractor who said that the crack was indeed quite small and was not in need of any repair. I did not make another attempt at contacting the company as I considered it closed. |The crack issue aside, I was quite pleased with the work and the crew. In addition to the floor work, they also addressed an issue with some erosion next to a footer as well as re-routed a sump discharge pipe. Both jobs were satisfactory. | |One last point about customer service - I had a question about the concrete used, so I contacted the company. The job foreman was out, so I was directed to the owner who answered my question. I needed a quick answer so I was happy that I didn't have to wait for a call back. | |As for a recommendation, I would certainly recommend them to anyone who is in need of water remediation in their basement. Just be prepared to deal with the dust if they have to dig up the floor.

Description of Work: several years ago they waterproofed our crawl space and also installed a sump pump and dehumidifier. I had them come back this Spring because I discovered a leak in the sump pump check valve. They replaced the check valve and did not charge me. All work including waterproofing was excellent

Description of Work: Repaired cracked concrete foundation wall.

Description of Work: We live in a 100 year home with a basement that had a lot of water issues. They came out and guaranteed that they could 100% take care of our problem. Although, I wasn't thrilled with the process, that leaves a plastic lip running around the floor of our basement, if it could take care of our water situation so we could finally put carpet and furniture in it, I was willing to go for it. I thought we finally had it solved and we have been enjoying the xtra space for about a year now. However, while I was doing some deep cleaning I noticed what looked like mold on one of the walls and when I went to look closer at it I stepped down and my feet got wet. Not good!

Description of Work: They dug a inside perimeter trench around the inside of our basement that emptied into our sump basin as well as perforating the block walls to create "weep holes" to relieve the water pressure against the outside of the basement wall. The work was done on time and the job site debris removed to our satisfaction. We've not had water problems since (and the work was done in the late 1990's).
