The representative was extremely helpful and professional. Gave us a lot of good information, and did not try to ''hard sell'' us. We are still deciding whether to do the work, but if we do we will likely go with A-1.

They came out and sealed the area that was leaking in the basement. They came out quickly when we called, we've never had a problem with that and we've used them before.

He came out and explained that this only happens in extreme weather and that I shouldn't worry about it that it wasn't a problem. He came out the next day after I called and didn't charge me anything for coming out. He said that if the new homeowner has any concerns, that he would be happy to come out and explain the same thing to them.

We were pleased with how everything turned out although we had some glitches when the work was being done. It seems to be a good functioning system. But the workers were a little less than professional.

I got an excellent deal on the sump pump and air purifier, which was reinforced after pricing other contractors. Everyone was professional and courteous, and went above and beyond in their efforts! They accommodated my schedule, and Bill Verhonik replaced the aforementioned sink after its unfortunate demise. They really helped me out, I'd recommend them without hesitation! My general contractor even commented on what a great job they did!

I was impressed with the guys who did our job. They kept us informed of what they were doing, what they had found and our options for dealing with it. They showed up every day at the same time and got right to work. They had made quite a mess in our garage since our crawl space opening is in our garage, but when the job was complete they cleaned the garage up very nicely. I was impressed, this shows great consideration for the customer.

The men were very careful about covering things . The service was excellent. They responded to a phone call immediately.

I am very happy with their salesperson Wayne. He was on time and very polite. He answered all of my questions and educated me about my crawl space which I really appreciate. Their quote was very reasonable and he did not try to sell us things we didn't want, or try to scare us into thinking we needed things that we didn't. His recommendations were honest and he was very accommodating. We chose to go with another company this time based on scheduling, but I would be happy to hire A-1 if the need should arise again.

Overall I have been extremely pleased and feel the water/mold problem we hired them for has been solved (it has already been tested with the recent rain and passed with flying colors). The personnel were pleasant, respectful and helpful, some more so than others although ALL were good. Wayne and Bill have been excellent to work with, addressing any of my comments/concerns more than fairly and very competently (and I am detailed and particular). If I had ANY problem or concern, it was addressed to my satisfaction. I found both Wayne and Bill easy to talk with and work out little situations that arose. There were several workers involved due to the nature of work and all were pleasant, respectful and tolerant of my hovering over and monitoring the progress. All appear to be held to high standards. Most went beyond ''just a job'' attitude and more than once I was told ''we want to help'', a very refreshing approach! They came highly recommended when I checked their references. I agree

WE GOT A QUOTE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY AND IT WAS FOR $15,000.00. THEIR SOLUTION WAS SO EXTENSIVE (HENCE THE COST, I GUESS) AND IT WOULD DO THE SAME THING AS A-1'S SOLUTION, AND PROBABLY NOT AS WELL. WAYNE HAS BEEN WONDERFUL TO DEAL WITH, AND WE WOULD USE THAT COMPANY AGAIN (HOPE WE NEVER HAVE TO).

HOME PURCHASED IN 2001 CAME WITH WATERPROOF GUARANTY FROM JUNE 1988. OVER TIME, MUD HAD COLLECTED AND CAUSED MOISTURE, DISCOVERED AS PART OF THE PROPERTIES 2005 SALE. WAYNE ROBERTS AT A-1 MR BUILD PERSONALLY RESPONDED TO MY CALL, AND WITHIN A WEEK, THE PERIMETER SYSTEM WAS REPAIRED WHERE THE MOISTURE WAS LOCATED, WITHOUT ANY CHARGE. IT IS A COMFORT TO KNOW THAT A COMPANY STANDS BEHIND ITS GUARANTY, EVEN 17 YEARS AFTER INITIAL INSTALLATION. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES, AND PLAN ON ASKING FOR AN INSPECTION OF THE CRAWL SPACE OF MY CURRENT HOUSE--ANOTHER AREA THEY SPECIALIZE IN AND WARRANT.

WE WERE FEELING PRETTY HELPLESS WITH THE JOB BECAUSE A PREVIOUS COMPANY WAS UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MR. BUILD HAS REMEDIED THE PROBLEM AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT.

THE WORKMEN DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT THEY HAD TO DO IN REPAIRING A BROKEN LIGHT IN THE CRAWLSPACE. THEY DID A VERY NICE JOB.

INITIAL DISCUSSION WITH WAYNE ROBERTS WAS QUITE PROFESSIONAL AND THOROUGH. HE SUBSEQUENTLY SENT A CONTRACT WITH ALL THE DETAILS. THE WORKERS ARRIVED ON TIME AND THE CREW WAS POLITE AND THEY KEPT THE BASEMENT REMARKABLY CLEAN DURING THE WORK. EVERYTHING WAS CLEANED UP NICELY OUTSIDE BY THE TIME THEY FINISHED (IT TOOK ABOUT 1.5 DAYS TO DO THE JOB).

I WANTED THEM TO FINISH MY BASEMENT. THEY HAVE PROVIDED WATERPROOFING SERVICE IN THE PAST & I WAS PLEASED WITH THE WORK. I HAD THEM COME OUT FOR AN ESTIMATE TO FINISH OUT THE UNFINISHED PORTION OF MY BASEMENT & TO CHECK FOR ANY ADDITIONAL LEAKS. THEY CALLED TO SAY THEY COULD COME OUT FOR DRAIN TILE INSTALLATION.

PROMPT RESPONSE TO TELEPHONE CALL AND SETTING APPOINTMENT. ON TIME FOR APPOINTMENT AND SEEMED KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT PROBLEM.

JUSTIN, WHO DID THE ESTIMATE FOR WATERPROOFING THE CRAWLSPACE, WAS PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. MY PROBLEM WITH THE COMPANY WAS THAT I STARTED GETTING PHONE CALLS BOTH FROM WAYNE ROBERTS AND JUSTIN ROBERTS BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET ADDITIONAL ESTIMATES AND OPINIONS ON WHAT SHOULD BE DONE. I DID NOT RETURN THE CALLS, BUT KEPT GETTING MESSAGES ON MY VOICEMAIL. ALSO, THE PERSON FROM THE NEXT COMPANY WAS MORE THOROUGH IN INSPECTING THE CRAWLSPACE AND CONDITION OF THE WOOD, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE PHONE CALLS MADE ME FEEL LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO PRESSURE ME, AND I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE WHO I FEEL IS PRESSURING.

THE CREW WAS ON TIME, VERY NICE AND POLITE. THEY WORK VERY HARD. I FEEL THE PRICE IS AS GOOD AS OTHERS OUT THERE.

WORK PERFORMED WAS EXCELLENT, EVEN TO VOLUNTEERING A COUPLE FELLOWS TO COME FOR PARTS OF 2 DAYS PRIOR TO BEGINNING INSTALLATION TO ASSIST IN MOVING HEAVY FURNITURE AND BOOKCASES, AND CARRYING WATER DAMAGED ITEMS TO DUMPSTER IN DRIVEWAY. MY HUSBAND AND I COULD NOT HAVE ACCOMPLISHED ALL THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE BY OURSELVES. AFTER MY INITIAL CALL, THEY CAME SAME DAY TO GIVE ME ESTIMATE AND SCHEDULE THE WORK TO BE DONE, AND THEN WERE ABLE TO START EVEN A FEW DAYS SOONER THAN THE ORIGINAL SCHEDULING DATE. ANOTHER COMPANY ON YOUR LIST WILL BE DOING THE REMOVAL OF FLOOR TILE FOR ENTIRE BASEMENT AND INSTALLATION OF NEW TILE BEGINNING NEXT MONDAY.

DAVE CAME OUT AND TOLD US HE COULD PUT A DRAIN SYSTEM IN FOR $2500(IT WAS FOR A SMALL SUNKEN AREA IN OUR FAMILY ROOM) BUT HE SAID HE WOULD TRY AND SEAL IT FIRST BEFORE WE SPENT THAT MUCH MONEY. HE EVEN TOLD US WHERE TO GO FOR THE SEALER AND HOW TO DO IT! IT WAS AWESOME ADVICE AND IF WE DECIDE TO INSTALL A DRAIN, WE WILL CERTAINLY CALL HIM TO DO IT.

I LEFT VOICEMAIL WITH THEM. THE MESSAGE INDICATED THEY WOULD CALL BACK THE NEXT DAY AND I LEFT MY CELL PHONE FOR THE RETURN CALL. I WAS NEVER CALLED BACK. I WENT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY FOR THE WORK, AS THEY WERE RESPONSIVE.

I WAS VERY WORRIED THAT THE JACKHAMMER WOULD BREAK UP MY FIREPLACE BRICK, TILED BATHROOM, AND/OR RADIANT HEATING LINES. THOUGH THEY COULDN'T GUARANTEE THESE ITEMS WOULD NOT BE HARMED, A-1 USED A SMALLER JACKHAMMER AND WERE VERY CAREFUL. THE FIREPLACE, TILE, AND HEATING LINES WERE NOT DAMAGED AT ALL DURING THE PROCESS, SPARING ME THOUSANDS MORE IN ADDITIONAL REPAIRS. THE WORKERS WERE VERY CONSIDERATE, FRIENDLY, AND ON-TIME. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB IN 1.5 DAYS AND CLEANED UP AFTERWARDS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A-1 WATERPROOFING.
