Jan was great! We schedule an appointment for a Friday morning. She was running a little late, but called in advance to make sure that was alright (it was!) and even offered to pick me up a Starbucks on her way over. Very cool! When she arrived, she got right to work taking apart the locks. I had originally told her there were 4, but I realized the morning of the appointment there were actually 5 (one door had two). No problem, she said! She had issue with the lock on the door leading to the garage, as it had apparently been broken and "repaired" at some point. She had another handle/lock of the same brand/color with her in her truck and swapped in the new part for us while she was doing this. She also lubed up one of the locks that hadn't been used very much by the previous owned and had become stiff/hard to use -- which now works great! All in all, she re-keyed 5 locks all to the same key and gave us 6 keys to go along with it. She was fast, nice, courteous, and she did a great job for us. All the locks work very smoothly and it's great having just one key for all the doors. The fee was definitely worth it, now having the peace of mind knowing that we know exactly how many keys exist for our home and know exactly where they all are. Would definitely use Jan again in the future!

I contacted Jan who was very diligent about trying to meet me to get the old keys to an empty house. Even though it took several attempts through no fault of hers or mine, we finally connected and she was very patient through it all. When I gave her the keys I asked that the locks be changed sometime in the next 5 days, but she called about 2 hours later because she was completing the job the same day, even though it was after 6 pm. She was thorough and explained why all three locks couldn't be set to the same key, made all the copies requested and made sure all keys worked before leaving. Jan was professional and friendly, and I learned about Starbucks "pup cups" through our conversation. I would hire her again.

Janco came out and fixed the broken lock on our front door. She was able to accurately diagnose the problem over the phone and then made sure she had and brought the part needed. When she arrived she was wonderful! Professional, helpful, and great to work with. She showed me the problem, fixed it, and then gave me some pointers on taking care of my locks.

They took locks off and cleaned them up and refiled them. They work perfectly now. The workers were on time and friendly.

The deadbolt on my front door was frozen. (I couldn't open the door.) I called Jan, explained the problem, and she came over almost immediately (within an hour) to work on the problem. The problem with the bolt of the deadbolt. After removing the bad bolt, she replaced it with a new one --- which she had in her pocket! --- and she was done (in 10-15 minutes). She gave me a price up front and told me the time it would take her to do the job; she did a great job and was really easy to work with. I'd call her again in a heartbeat.

It was on a Sunday and she basically broke in my house and fixed everything. She didn’t complain it was a Sunday and only charged me an extra $20.00. I only waited 30 minutes. She was friendly and efficient.

I called Janco this morning and explained what the problem was. Janco asked if I knew what kind of lock it was because she would check her truck. If she had it on hand she could come out today. I didn't know the make of the lock so she asked me if there were letters on the key - which there were. With that information she said she had what was needed to fix the lock on her truck, and she could come out today. Since I was at work I told her I couldn't be home until around 4:00 and she said she would be at the house between 4 and 5. She arrived at 4:10 and the job was completed within 10 minutes. And the door works perfectly now.

They did an excellent job. They even preserved an old lock for us. We were pleased with their service. They were friendly and knowledgable.

We have used Jan previously and have always been pleased. She knows her stuff and is both pleasant and professional.

It went amazing! When we bought our house, the previous owners told us they were never given a key to the front door. For the past five years, we had just used the side door - worrying that a locksmith would tell us we would need to get a new lock mechanism (we wanted to keep the original 1920's door knob and locks), or tell us it would cost a billion dollars to be able to use the door again. Jan was so friendly during the scheduling process, came out right away, got to work and made a new key for our antique lock. I can't remember the exact cost, but it was so reasonable, both my husband and I felt unreasonable for not contacting her sooner! We will definitely use Jan for all of our future locksmith needs.

Went great! Left voice mail initially, Jan returned call next day. She educated me on most cost-effective work needed. We were leaving town next day and Jan was cooperative in arranging to do the work (via subcontractor) promptly. Everything discussed happened according to plan.

Overall it went very well. Jan is honest and easy to talk to. She was on time, repaired three locks/door knobs that weren't working properly. I will call her again if I need my locks worked on. She knows locks.

I e-mailed Jan and she got back to me within a few hours to set up a time to come out later that week. When my dentist appointment the morning she was due to come ran later than expected, I was able to e-mail her from the dentist chair to push back the appointment by an hour. She graciously accommodated me. She arrived right on time at the rescheduled time and took a look at the myriad of different doors and types of locks. She swiftly removed the locks from the doors and took them to her van to re-key. About a half-hour later, she returned and had consolidated the bag of keys the sellers gave us ? about a dozen keys in all! ? into two keys. (The front door for some reason has a lock by a different manufacturer than the rest, so it had to be different. But two keys is a much easier load to carry around!) She provided three copies of each key for us for free because we were Angie's List members. Not only was Jan super nice and efficient, she was also a pleasure to talk to and obviously knowledgeable. I don't foresee the need for a locksmith any time soon, but I know who to call when I do ? definitely Janco.

I am so embarrassed! I thought I had already submitted a report for Jan! She is awesome! I was in the process of selling my condo and a real estate agent broke off a key in the lock. I couldn't believe it! There was a showing the next day and I needed it fixed-NOW! I called Jan and she answered her own phone. I explained the situation and the urgency. She was calm and collected. She said she could get the key out of the lock and duplicate the key for me right away. I was so relieved. We arranged for payment and everything worked out fine. I would definitely recommend her services to everyone.
