Scotts did not treat our entire lawn as promised and came unannounced because "we were on the list and the technician was in the area." We had requested a set day and Scotts premised to come on the set date , but no the technician was in the neighborhood. ( I wanted to mow the lawn and clean up the clipplings before Scotts came.) My wife was home and watched the technician apply the treatment to only about a third of the yard. I complained to the office in Waukesha but if you don't complain within two weeks after the treatment you are out of luck. I refused to pay the bill and then the collection calls came. I wrote to the head office and never heard from the head office. Scotts did promise to forgive the amount due only after I threatened to sue. Scotts did say if I was to continue the service each treatment would be $90. instead of the original $60. They realized teir first measurement was wrong. I wished I had checked the BBB records and the internet for backgnd information before hiring Scotts. Scotts has one of the lowest ratings with BBB.

Received a flyer in mail for free Scott's lawn analysis and 10% off lawn care. Spouse called Scott's and spoke to Jake who said he viewed our property by satellite and area needing service is 7500 square feet. Jake quoted price of $59.00 per treatment and a $30 gift card for new customer. Next day I called to possibly set up service and spoke to Mike. Mike said there was no record of previous days quote. Mike said he looked at our property by satellite and today it was 11,000 square feet. Today the price was $70.97 per treatment and $30 gift card. He said he could apply the gift card to service instead and gave me a new price. When I asked why the new price was $18 less and not $30, Mike said he made a math error. Mike very cocky bordering on out right rude. I called back and left a message for Jake to call me (I was told he was busy on another line). Instead Mike called back, talked to my husband, saying Jake would not be calling us and the price he (Mike) gave us was the price to "take it or leave it". Very arrogant and cocky. Not sure why Scott's would want someone like Mike representing the company or how the area of our lot needing treatment grew 3500 square feet overnight, or why Mike's math became bad (making the price higher) but after being told to take it or leave it, we'll leave it. Too many honest, good companies out there to deal with sleazy arrogant people like this.

They do good work. They have worked for us earlier too and we have witnessed a noticeable difference in the quality of our lawn. They have always done a good job and that is why we went back to them.

Evertything went well. They made our lawn look great, and they saved us time and money.

They come and do what they need to do and leave. We don't interact much. Their service and clean up is good. They are efficient. They come and do what they need to do. They tell me if there are problems and what they need to do about it. I have called a few times and the interaction is nice and they do a good job of answering questions. They came one time while I was on vacation. They called and suggested I water the lawn. I called them back and told them I was on vacation. They assured me we had gotten rain and everything was okay. They were really good about bringing things to my attention.

They have done a good job. They come regularly and are responsive. We are still working on a weed control issue.

They did a very sparse application and I saw no change in the weed population. I tried to cancel the service and they have continued to bother me for a year. I have been up front with them that I do not want their services and they continue to call.

One year they switched from granular fertilizer to liquid without telling me. Liquid application became their standard. I asked for granular fertilizer because I felt it didn't burn the lawn as easy as liquid. I was wondering why there was burn spots on the lawn. I was told to water more. I asked for granular applications and was told ok, but they continued with liquid. The next year they totally burned and killed a huge portion of my front lawn. They made a half-hearted attempt to over seed that fall which didn't work. The next spring I stopped the service and had a landscaper do extensive repair work on my lawn.

They are pretty good but they are expensive. My lawn is pretty healthy and clean compared to all other neighbors who don’t use them.

I think they were fine. They always left information about what they did and if we were here they always try knocking on the door and tell us exactly what is going on. They did that every month and put a little sign in the lawn. I really had no issues with them. I think their price was pretty typical and they did a good job for me. I will give them a call next year to work on our lawn.

They do a really great job! We have been using them for about 6 months. If you are having problems with the weeds, they will come out and provide the service. If you are still seeing weeds after that, they will come out and spray again for free. We also used them for 5 years when we lived in Georgia. The price is based on the size of your yard. Our yard is almost an acre. The price is worth the quality that you receive.

I was referred to them by my girlfriend. I don’t know the price of any other provider, and so I can’t compare prices. Their quality of work has been good - I have never had any burnt grass or anything like that. They are very responsive and I will continue to use them in the future.

They have such a fine reputation and I have been very satisfied with their work. My lawn looks very good and I have had no problems with them.

They are always here when they say they are going to be. They always give us feedback about how our lawn is doing and what we can do to make it better, which is really nice. They are very reliable too.

I used them many times to do lawn care. I have always had great experience, but my lawn always stayed brown. I do not blame them, because I don't think I watered as often as they advised me to do. They were always very attentive and always communicated well with me. Their prices were competitive and I would use them again in the future.

They do a good job. They let me know when they're here to do the work. When they are all done they make sure to leave me a note. I can't expect any more from them. Their prices seem reasonable.

I have been using their service for 8 to 10 years and I am happy with it.

They are very good and polite on the phone. They seem to be very knowledgeable. They have alway given me complimentry grass seed.

This company doesn't wait for you to call them back for additional service(s), rather, they call your home, leave a message, and come out and give whatever service they feel is necessary for your lawn, and you're stuck with paying for it otherwise they'll hound you. They are horribly expensive, non-responsive to calls asking for explanation as to services, and generally unprofessional to work with; they seemed more like a fast-buck company, where they get their foot in the door with an offer for inexpensive services, but when they're in, they provide unasked-for services and treatments. We were once told our shrubs had a particular disease and the service provider hadn't even visited our yard. In my opinion, there must be other, much better options than this company.

I have never had such bad lawn service. I had been taking care of my lawn for the past 14 years, and it was in perfect condition. The first year (2007) with Scott's Lawn service was just passable. This year (2008) I had a huge growth of weeds growing in my lawn. Repeated calls to come solve the problem did not get any response from them. A supervisor finally promised to come to the site and resolve the weed problem. He never showed up after four appointments. Every time there was a lame excuse. Finally a manager and the 'appointment breaking' supervisor showed up, promised to clear the weeds and give me a healthy lawn. They said this would take 4 to 5 applications, which would be at no charge. After 2 applications the weeds remained, but my lawn burnt in patches. There were lame conflicting explanations. I finally told them to stop coming.

They started in late July and told me not to expect all the weeds to be gone this year, but said I could expect to see an improvement. It's late October now and some of the weed varieties were totally removed, but some (like creeping charlie) remain. Our grass is much greener. They come out about once/month to fertilize and do weed treatments, and we call them 2 weeks after that to come back for a weed treatment service call (service calls are free, so it's almost like getting double the weed treatments for the original price.)

All we received were phone calls, asking us when they could start. When we asked what the analysis was, they said it's all the same, we know what you need. They said they don't provide an analysis. So we didn't care to hire them.

They showed up on time to do the work. They have done all the work that I hired them to do. They are very courteous when they are there working for me.

They are persistent and keep calling. They let me negotiate with them, but at the same time they can't keep their appointments. Sometimes they'll call, sometimes they won't. Sometimes they'll be on time, sometimes they won't. I understand they are busy, but it just seems like they are making commitments further than their capabilities. They were able to deal with some very persistent and challenging weeds. The work they do is good.

I tried to get them to change the date of the service, but they told me that they were only applying liquid and that I shouldn't be worried about it hurting anyone. They told me that the service was changed anyway, but then they came out on the original date. The person who came out just walked away when I told him what had happened. He was unprofessional.
