They originally patched the corner instead of covering the entire section as state in the work order. I had to call several times to get through to them. They came back the same day and completed the job, although the workman told me that it was policy to patch not cover the area.

Setting up the initial installation date was efficient and punctual, and completed as specified. Setting up the follow-up annual inspection a year later (2017/Sept) was also efficient, and punctual. Technician "Allen" performed the annual inspection of the double-valve system, and was very detailed in informing me how everything worked. Perma-Seal has my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Last year/2016, Perma-Seal had installed a double-valve to prevent storm sewer backflow into my basement. Also, Perma-Seal sealed one of several leaking basement windows, along with another wall section that was leaking. Also, an extra-large horsepower sump pump was installed. Now, 1 year later, I have had no water in my basement. (of course, knock on wood)

It went very well. I would highly recommend this company and will consider his recommendations. It is the kind of company that you would like to do business with and Mike is very professional and knowledgable.
Description of Work: Mike Vecchione, Sales Consultant, for PermaSeal came to our home to evaluate a leak that we had in our basement. He was very professional and made recommendations for us to solve the problem. He thoroughly reviewed the situation and did not try to oversell in any way. He had great educational materials with him also.

The crew was super friendly, helpful, and professional. I would give them an A for everything. The office, particularly the billing department is the only reason I give them an F. They are shady! The initial instructions were poor and so what I was told to do (remove furniture, flooring, take down shelves) was marked for one small area. I paid a handy man to perform the labor and provided him the drawings they gave me. But when the Perma-seal crew showed up they told me it was the perimeter of the entire basement which we did NOT know. They said they had to get in there and "rip" things out. It's on you if they break. It's on you to put it back. Of course, things broke .. this would not have happened had they taken care in making sure I understood their instructions. When the work was done, I signed a form saying they had completed everything and I was shown a balance due. I was told I could pay the balance due by calling the main office. The balance was over $9K. The total labor was about $13k. There was a 300-350 dollar difference between what I was shown was the 'balance due' on their device and what they billed me in the end. Shame on me .. I thought they were emailing me a copy of what I signed because I requested it on the spot. Nobody could explain why the difference. I requested a copy of what I signed and nothing. I was forwarded an email where the "accountant" said they were checking numbers again and that was the math. But still that didn't explain why what I signed was less than what I owed. So I gave them an F for shady billing practices.

The sales consultant was timely and informative. I appreciated the level of detail and communication. PermaSeal dictates the date and time of day for installation; there was very little client consideration in selecting an installation date and time. They assigned me a date approximately one month out. Five days before installation they emailed a confirmation and at Noon the day before they called to confirm the estimated arrival time, which was between 8-9am the following day. Then, at 6pm (so six hours after confirming and 14 hours before the job was to start) they called to say they no longer had a technician available and needed to reschedule for two days later. PermaSeal is part of a larger renovation project and I had coordinated three other vendors and deliveries around them, plus I'll be out of town during the suggested reschedule date. I explained this to a Customer Service and she said there's nothing she could do and that a Manager would call me "later that night" or "first thing in the morning." (Come to find out in a subsequent conversation that was a disingenuous statement, as the Manager wouldn't return until 9am the next day. I don't appreciate the dishonesty to get me off the phone.) I spoke with a different Customer Service rep this morning and she was AMAZING. She was helpful, solution-focused and honest. She got a crew to my house close to the originally scheduled time. The technicians were on time and professional. I give her five stars. I give PermaSeal two stars for the dishonesty and lack of client consideration in their scheduling. Oh, and that Manager still has not called me.

Estimate was free. I'd give them an "A" for the overall estimate. I was told one thing in regards to when they would be coming out to do it and when they actually gave me a date of when they would start it was a month later. They initially stated, the estimator stated that they could do the work in October and when he turned in the paperwork and after I'd put my deposit in they came back and said they couldn't start until the beginning of November. I was upset with it, yes. Did they try to make anything better, no. The only thing they said they could do is put me on a list and possibly get moved up. They tell you one thing, then you put your deposit down and it's a month later. Initially when I called for an estimate they told me it wouldn't be until October until they could get a person out and then they put me on a standby list, they had a cancellation and they moved me up to the 30th of August. The estimator was professional when he was here. Not sure if I'd use them again, I haven't had the service done yet. I chose to go with them because their solution seemed to be better than the others that quoted me and their prices was the median price.

Our first interaction with Perma-Seal was over a year ago when we were unable to diagnose the source of water in the basement. Since our sales rep, Duane, also could not determine the problem, he did not propose a solution by recommended that we wait for another occurrence. When the water issue occurred again and we contacted Duane, he was responsive and thorough in his assessment. Work was completed yesterday. The crew arrived on time and finished sooner than expected. They cleaned up the mess, answered my questions and in summary, did an excellent job. Thanks to Marco!

I did get a call back. The last call back was a response from the above review and I hope to get another one now. We played phone tag several times after that review. When I finally got to talk to the person, he told me: "Sorry I answered your call. I thought you were someone else I have been waiting on I must clear this line so I'll call you back in about 10 minutes". This is a very busy time for them and I do understand how busy they are, but my basement is still unprotected because their equipment malfunctioned. I did not hear back from him so after several days I called again. We played phone tag - again. When we spoke, he was more concerned that I would write a review of the facts that looked bad when their system failed for a third time than the fact no one returned my calls and helped me out. Their own techs told me on each of the three floods that THEIR equipment was at fault and I want it replaced. He did offer to see if I could get by with a portion of the SumpPro being replaced and not the whole thing (maybe I did not need batteries and just the charger for a discount). That last conversation was over a 9 days ago. He told me he would get back to me that same afternoon. I have left 2 more messages since that last conversation. I am not at all sure why their usually great customer care has fallen to such a low level. I was happy with them many years ago when they fixed a crack and I see they have a good reputation here so I have given them the benefit of the doubt. Please contact me and get this resolved. I have been patient for the past 3 years but now I am growing angry.
Description of Work: I have waited and waited and tried to get this resolved. They only seem to respond when I write a review here. Last review on 07/23/2017: I keep getting sent to another department and have not heard back from them yet. Description of work: I flooded 3 times in the last 3 years after I spent a lot of money to have them install a large pump and a SumpPro battery backup system. System has not worked. The very first rain - which was not very big - we flooded and I lost my brand new carpet AGAIN. They had installed the pump with a pipe that was not big enough to handle the flow so water could not be pumped out of the pit. Very first time the power went out, the battery did not work. They replaced the battery backup for free, but my basement had already flooded again. Second time the power went out the battery did not work again and my basement flooded AGAIN-third flood in three years since they installed. Tech guy confirmed the problem was faulty equipment and that I was out of warrantee so I would have to pay the full price again. I have been trying to get this resolved for almost three weeks and have gotten nothing but the run around. I wanted to wait for them to correct the problem before I wrote this complaint, but I have gotten nowhere with them for several weeks now.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that we currently have an appointment backlog but after the flooding up north and recent rainstorms and flooding, many people in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area are in need of our services. Unfortunately, waterproofing is not a commodity and there is great disparity in the quality of repair methods, warranties, and pricing. As a company, we work hard to provide the best value, combining the most permanent repairs and transferable warranties at a fair price, which makes us in greater demand and busier than other companies right now. As our schedule changes on a daily basis, our Customer Care Director attempted to provide you with an earlier date, but you refused. If you'd like to book an appointment with us, please call her directly at the number she provided you as we would be happy to add you to our family of happy clients!

They installed the water proofing system did not clean up their mess after compleation. they broke a water pipe in the process. Instead of fixing the water pipe they capped the pipe it took 1 month to get the pipe fixed to original operation, after numerous calls to the office. I had a sump pump system before they installed the new one their installers took my 6-month-old system after I ask them to leave it. I asked their installers to take my old utility sink, and they did not after telling me they would. overall I would not recommend using them or be prepared to do a bunch of clean up after the work is completed. If I could return my system I would.

I had a bad experience. The proposal was to fix some cracks for $1980 and they wanted a deposit and I gave them a deposit and I never got a written contract as far as I know from them. But, what happened after the first proposal of $1980 to fix some cracks, we noticed additional problems in the basement; what they call cold leaking, that's where the wall meets the floor. He re-estimated the job and the re-estimate to do trenching and everything that would be involved, whether they needed a sump pump would have run over $9,000. So we cancelled the original deal but I didn't get my deposit back. I said that I would let them know about the new proposal but I would appreciate it if they would return my deposit. They never did. Looking at this new proposal for over $9,000 as compared to the original one of $1,900 and I didn't know whether I really could afford that. I told them I need some time, but give me my deposit back for the original deal that we cancelled. I understood from their office the original deal was cancelled. He never would return it. He said he can't return it. The fellow I called him several times and he said he talked to the office. He talked to the office and he said not they weren't going to return it and would I like the other job. That's a whole different ball of wax; $9,000. I don't want to make that decision without first having an understanding that we cancelled our original deal which I assume is null and void and that I'm getting my initial deposit back. They never did that and then I called somebody else and I'm working with them because I don't trust Perma-Seal. They did no work. The original job that we were going to do when we found out that there was not only those 4 cracks but there was some other leakage that would require trenching around the perimeter of the basement which was bringing the job original estimate of $1980 bringing that up to $9100. So I said let's cancel the original deal, give me my deposit back, and I'll let you know. I thought the office had agreed that they were going to cancel the original deal, but I talked to Jim, my representative, on this; and I called him several times and he said no, they won't return the deposit. It was a terrible experience because of this business about being greedy and holding onto my deposit when they have no right to.
Description of Work: I was going to have them do some services. I had gotten an estimate from them and was going to have them do some work, and then circumstances changed and the work didn't get done and the deposit that I put with them I couldn't get back.

I called them to tell them I would need to reschedule last night. I had a hard time getting a hold of them. It would place me on hold when I called, so I left a voicemail. I did not get a call back until today when the representative stated that he was already on his way. It appears that they did not relay the message to the tech. In doing that, they wasted the tech's time and money. They attempted to reschedule with me mid July, which I am not able to wait that long for.
