Description of Work: I have had a basement water problem for years. When I contacted Perma-Seal their Certified Foundation Consultant Mike Keating presented to me a plan to fix the problem once and for all. Mike was prompt, courteous and above all, knowledable. He listened to my problem, examined both the inside and outside foundation, and presented two options for my consideration. Their was no pressure to pursue any option. I felt that their Waterguard system was right for me. He described this system in detail and prepared a detailed quote that listed all components and prices. I agreed and a Perma-Seal team showed up on the predetermined date. The team was extremely competent. They did their work efficiently and finished in one day. I have been completely satisfied with their work and less than one week later the Chicago area had one of the heaviest rainfalls in years. I did not have a drop of water in my basement! I would recommend Perma-Seal to anyone looking to solve their basement water problems.

Description of Work: The gentleman that came to the house was very informative and polite. We were basically getting a few estmates for the project in the basement. Although we have not hired anyone as of yet, they still will be considered. The price quoted us for a couple of ways to go we thought might be a little out of the price we were hoping to pay, but we are still in the estimate process.

Description of Work: I made an appointment and selected a date hoping I can get the day off so I can be there. I couldn't be off so I called to reschedule and it turns out that the number you call I make an appointment isn't the same number you call to change the appointment. They wanted to me to wait 20-30 minutes to change the appt that's pathetic. I hung up. They can waste their time coming if they want. I tried changing it.

Description of Work: Installed below grade drainage routes attached to sump pump to rid basement of water/dampness problems. Job was performed in an efficient and professional manner. Area was left clean and tidy. Landscaping was respected, and the one shrub which was removed was carefully replaced and has survived. Although pricey, I am very satisfied with the job performed. They even called repeatedly to remind me to schedule the FREE annual systems check-ups! I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Interior sub floor drainage system. Easy way to resolve a drainage problem with a basement. Work was completed as promised and on time. Clean up was a little less than expected, however, I was thrilled with the overall experience and would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: We knew that we had a leak in our Laundry room and in our family room. We called them and they sent out a peson to do a inspection of our home and found out that we had five leaks. They set forth with a plan and because it was thier anniversary we got discount for having multiple leaks. They came in and did the work and we checked it by running water hose out side each of the windows. We are very happy with the work and the proce and we would deffinetly use them again.

Description of Work: All these waterproofing companies do pretty much the same thing: 3-4 guys show up with jack hammers, chew up your basement floor, install their plastic drain tiles and re-pour the floor. Total labor is about 24 manhours. Total materials about $300, tops. Equipment: a 2-ton truck, protable (diesel) air compressor, air hose, jackhammer(s), and about a dozen five-gallon buckets. The guys work their butts off and I'm sure they are under-paid. I doubt PermaSeal forks out more than $400 in labor for the job. Give them a couple of hundred for equipment costs (per job) and they clear at least $1500 on the deal. Given the economics of this sort of thing, there should be more companies out there competing for this work. PermaSeal wa the low bidder, what can I say?

Description of Work: I bought an old house that had seepage in the basement. I wanted to insure a dry basement to have a playroom for grandkids. Permaseal installed their tile system around the inside perimeter of the basement and installed a strong sump pump with battery back up that empties into the front yard. They cut a ditch around the basement and laid a serviceable drain system and repoured concrete. You can see the system on their web page. It has been excellent . All seepage has stopped. I though water was coming in through a crack and called them out.They were going to stand behind their warranty and open the concrete in the center of the floor to run an additional drain at no charge when to my embarassment I realized the water was dripping down from a pipe rather than coming through the basement. More recently my neighborhood has begun having problem with water coming up the floor drains because the combined sewer/rain water system is inadequate. This is not covered under the work that Permaseal did for me but I am going to have them put their sewer system in my front yard because I know they stand behind their work.

Description of Work: Perma-Seal waterproofed the dirt crawlspace in the basement of our house. The crew repaired cracks in the concrete wall, installed drains and sump pump and crawlspace liner. The crew completed the work in one day. However, workers were here, on the job, about three hours longer than they estimated upon arrival--partly because they had to shovel several inches of snow just to clear a path to carry materials into the house and to access the foundation. The crawlspace looks much better. More importantly, the basement doesn't feel as damp (the dehumidifier certainly doesn't work as hard as it did before) and smells a lot less musty.

Description of Work: Filled 5 cracks for leakage and installed new battery back up sump pump. After testing sump pump not completely installed discharge water ran in thru an unnoticed crack, they wanted an additional $390 to fix it, we refused. They cleaned up basement, but storm door has smudge glue marks on it. There scheduling system was confusing, 1st they said it would take 2 days, then the computer reminder said they would arrive between 10 and 2 pm. We called the office and the worker returned call and they arrived before 10 am and completed the job in 3 hours. Not 2 days as indicated

Description of Work: We didn't use their services because we were looking to epoxy our basement. There was a miscommunication when the appointment was made regarding what services were needed. The sales rep was very nice and we apologized for the mix up.
