I think it's fine. We had an issue when they broke one of our blue stone pavers in the back patio. It shouldn't have happened. We wouldn't use them in the future because we don't have the house anymore and we live in Reno. We don't have a single tree in our property.

They were fine with what they did. They were pretty good. They were professional.

That was good. They were quick and cheap. The work turned out good.

It was fine, it was well done. I'm having him come back in to do a tree that wasn't done before and then, I'm going to have him come in when I cycle through. Every four or five years, I'll have them come in and check my trees to see if there is any needed work. So I'm happy with their work. What stood out the most about them was the quality of their consultant who came out and evaluated what needed to be done and explained it to me. They showed up on time as scheduled.

They were here to consult on some Parkway trees. It looked like they're failing. Those are really heavy trees but I didn't know how to save them.

I think their prices are a little high. They send a schedule of suggested services at the beginning or the end of the year for next year and I had asked to be contacted before they came out to my house so I would know that they had been here and they followed through and they did that and let me know they were coming out. For one of my trees the treatment seemed to stop working and I would have at some point expected them to maybe suggest either an alternate or removal of the tree which they didn't suggest but for what I hired them to do they were fine.

Davey Tree quoted for contracted services on February 10, 2015. The contract included services that I had never requested so I simply lined out the unwanted services out, signed the contract and sent it to Davey Tree on February 22, 2015. Later in the year after not receiving an invoice for the early Summer service in July or August, I contacted Davey Tree both by internet as well as direct through customer service by phone (multiple times) in September to inquire if fungicide injection had been completed as promised in early Summer. On September 15, 2015 Davey Tree showed up unannounced and left a voice mail that same day indicating that they had finally completed the fungicide injection. Their contracted committment to complete the injection in early Summer versus actually performing the service in early Fall (3 months late) and only after requiring multiple reminder phone calls to get action is unacceptable. That said, The organic fertilization was completed as promised in the Fall (October). Customer Service never provided an explanation why Davey Tree failed to perform the contracted services in early Summer but did leave several voice mails on my home phone to ask if I had any questions or concerns. My feedback to Davey Tree was provided in late September via a customer satisfaction survey where they received a very average C rating. Then on November 2, 2015 Davey Tree sent me a payment 17 days past due invoice for the fungicide injection performed in September touting their claim to one of the finest customer satisfaction records in the industry. However, this was the first invoice that I had ever received from Davey Tree for the September 15th fungicide service so apparently in addition to providing service three months late they also forgot to send me an invoice once their services had been rendered. As a result of Davey Tree's apparent billing issues in addition to their punctuality issues their overall rating drops to a D in this review. Our former service provider which we have successfully used for more than 10 years, never failed to deliver timely services and certainly never failed to send invoices. Unfortunately, this provider no longer exists because they are now owned and managed by Davey Tree! We will be looking for a new and more dependable provider for calendar year 2016.

The Everything went according to plan. The arborist was there during the time supervising the work and constantly checking with us to make sure that we were satisfied.

They always send out an arborist to evaluate the work that needs doing and the health of the trees and nothing gets done without my approval. They have their own appropriate equipment. They are not cheap but I am very satisfied with their work. They really know their business.

They were good. They were professional. They came here did the work, didn't talk (which I like) did a great job and left.

When I called for an estimate the person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to make an appointment that would accomodate my schedule. The Arborist Tracy Walker arrived precisely on time. I explained that I wanted the branches to be trimmed off my power lines, remove any dead and low hanging branches, and do the same for my branches that are in my neighbors yard. I wanted the work to be of benefit to the health of the tree and not give it that "Scalped" appearance. Tracy knew exactly what I wanted and explained all that they would do. He really knows trees. He told me that he would be present when the workers arrived to show them exactly what was expected. The work crew arrived first thing in the morning as promised. Tracey was there as promised to talk to the crew. They did a beautiful job. It took them about one hour and cleaned up every last branch. I couldn't ask for a better job. Paying what I owed was also easy. I went to their website and was able to pay online. I will definitly be calling them in the future.

The service was efficient fast and they cleaned up and took all debris with them. We live in Park Ridge, IL and they have some very strict rules about trees and strict penalties if you don't follow them. Davey's knew all the rules and and even handled the permits. They took care of everything. Evan Shorr (the arborist) even answered some questions I had about taking care of other shrubs in my yard. I will definitely use them again and probably for more than just trees. It was that easy and all their guys are so knowledgable.

I contacted Scott Lieber via email on Sunday evening after battling with ComEd over the weekend to remove the limbs from the power lines and to restore power to my home during the October 31st, 2014 storm. Mr. Lieber got back to me that evening and said a crew would be out that Monday to take care of the damage. I was extremely pleased that they were able to tackle the problem without involving the utility companies and without causing further damage to the garage and fence. Mr. Lieber communicated to me that the neighbor's trees, which overhang my yard sustained some substantial damage that posed a safety hazard. They completed the job in three hours, limiting my out of pocket expense. I was extremely pleased with Davey's service once again.

I contacted Scott Lieber about pruning a tree in my front yard. He responded promptly via email and scheduled a consultation for a couple days later. I received the proposal the day of the consultation and scheduled the pruning for the following week. The following week a large crew showed up. They thinned the crown of the tree to allow additional light into the yard. They also trimmed some deadwood and made sure to trim the tree back from over the street and sidewalk and away from the house. I was very pleased with the result and will continue to contract Davey Tree for all of my tree service needs.

I contacted Scott Lieber to get a quote for the removal of an old stump. I communicated that I needed the stump removed quickly because a new fence was to be installed on top of the location of the stump. Mr. Lieber promised me that the stump would be removed May 8th. On May 10th I notified him that no one had been by to remove the stump. Mr. Lieber responded that the stump grinder had been checked out all week and that the earliest he'd be able to have the stump removed would be May 16th. Unfortunately, the fence was to be installed on May 15th. I notified my fencing contractor that the stump was to be removed the day following the first day of construction, but that fell on deaf ears as I came home to a fence installed on top of the stump. The following day Davey's crew came to grind the stump. They rang the bell and communicated to me that due to the fence they wouldn't be able to completely remove the stump, but they'd do the best the could without damaging the fence. In the end, they were able to grind the stump enough that it isn't visible without damaging the fence. Overall I was pleased with the outcome, but disappointed that the project wasn't completed in a timely enough fashion.

Both times we've used them, I have not received an invoice from them. Instead, I get a letter informing me that my payment is overdue and/or that they're sending my account on to collections. If this had only happened the first time, I wouldn't be so annoyed by the lack of quality in the billing department. This is the second time this has happened, however. They need to get their billing department straightened out. I don't know if the problem is with the local person I work with or the centralized billing department, but clearly, they've got problems in their systems. When the contract says (and I agreed) they'll automatically charge my credit card the remaining portion of the contracted amount, I shouldn't even be getting an invoice. While they do good work with the trees, I will not automatically call them in the future unless they fix their billing problems.

It went good. He was very fair with the estimate. He suggested that I not cut down bushes so I could still have privacy-I'm so glad I did not do that. I was so happy with him that I had him come out in the fall to trim the maple tree and fertilize all the shrubs.

Reviewed all my requirements and wrote down notes. I gave him my email address. He had my address and telephone number and then I never heard from him again.

They came out and saw that there was a huge limb sitting between two trees that could just drop at any time. They gave me a quote and said they could come out the next day and clean all 8 evergreen up. The trees are almost 40 years old, so they are huge and run along my back yard. The crew was here the next day at 8 AM and did an excellent job. They also cleaned up all the fallen limbs and removed all the dead branches from the trees. I am very pleased with this company and would highly recommend them.

I called three services (all highly rated on Angie's List) to remove a storm damaged tree. Davey set up an appt for the next morning (I called about 3PM). The arborist was prompt, friendly and accomated my questions. NOTE: it took 2 1/2 days for the second service to call back and the third has never called. The price was on the high end of what I'd consider fair, but the crew was prompt, efficent and performed the work without causing further damage to my house or fence - even going as far as removing downspouts so that they didn't get crushed. Plus, they did an excellent job cleaning up before they left.

I was very impressed with the service and professionalism of Care of Trees, from beginning to end. Tom, the arborist, came to my home three times, always promptly and with great advice. The first time no work was done because it turned out to be not the best time for pruning and trimming limbs, but Tom's knowledge and love for trees was so evident that I had no hesitation in scheduling a late summer appointment to make firm plans for the work. At the second visit, Tom detailed the work to be done and gave me an estimate of the cost; we agreed on an October date for the work. Again, I was happy with his courtesy and professionalism and glad to see that he clearly valued my trees as much as I do. And Tom was able to identify a mystery tree in my back yard for me and made great suggestions for a small tree that was languishing a bit in my garden. I was grateful for his knowledge. Care of Trees came in mid-October to do the work Tom had outlined. The crew were obviously experts, using the cherry picker to go high up in the trees to be trimmed, a difficult job because of the narrow space and the power lines to my house. They cleaned up everything so well that when they had finished, there was not a leaf or branch out of place in my yard. Also, the workers were very polite and friendly and obviously took great pride in their work. Best of all, Tom invited me to watch and share decisions as he pruned lower branches from the small cherished swamp white oak tree in my front yard. All in all, it was an outstanding experience. I have recommended them to my friends and to my daughter. You could certainly find a cheaper tree service, but It's well worth it to get knowledgeable, experienced professionals who care for your trees as much as you do.

They have been great and they are a nice family owned business. I enjoy that they are responsive. We have had some bad storms out here and they have gotten those limbs taken care of.

I called them up and told them what they needed to do and they scheduled an appointment and they came out when they were supposed to. They took down the tree and cleaned up and left. It was very positive all the way around. I don't have any negative.

Everywent just fine. They were extremely busy, but the work got done.

I called Care of Trees the first week in September requesting an estimate to prune a large maple that had dead branches and one very precarious branch that was starting to cause damaging to my roof. On Sept 6, their arborist consulted with me. When asked when the job could be done, he estimated within a 'few weeks'. I asked him to reconsider because of the pending damage to my garage shingles and the personal danger to me when walking beneath a limb that I estimated to be close to 80 pounds. he said that he would try to get it done earlier but the company was quite busy. In fear and desperation, I called C.O.T.s about Sept 16 and asked that the job be done ASAP. I got a return call from the arborist who said he would try to service me by Thursday or Friday Sept. 26-27 (Three weeks after his first inspection. Because of the pending danger to my roof shingles, roof gutter and my head, I could not wait longer. A friend and I (age 78) climbed the roof to cut down the branch. Second item of annoyance; When I got their quote, the lower right part of the form requested my credit card information. I did so but rather than mailing the document to their office, I provided the information to their office over the phone on Sept. 10. I a day or two, the $150 charge appeared on my Visa account. My records show that I cancelled the order about Sept. 17 and that I requested refund. My Visa credit finally appeared yesterday Oct. 1. It is unjust for C.O.T.s to debit my Visa for 4 weeks. I think billing a customer without providing service is a commercial violation. As far as providing reasonably prompt service, I would rate them an unacceptable, 1 of 10. J.C. Wheeling, IL
