Excel Plumbing

Not well at all. Business advertised a 'Big Deal' through Angie's List to Chicago area AL customers. No Geographic limitations for service were specified. I bought the deal. Note: my property was centrally located on Chicago's north side. When I went to schedule, they said that they only work in the NW suburbs around their office. This necessitated me having to get a refund from AL and tracking to make sure it was received. Huge waste of time for no good reason. Business rep and manager were not helpful, understanding, or accommodating at all.

I don't think I like them very well, well I don't think that I will ever use them again, I think they did a crack in my toilet which I think they didn't do the base when they were routing it out and some of it went wrong. The routed out a couple toilets, that' s why I think they were routing, they like cracked it and they weren't correct where my shower was leaking and they think it was from the head. They followed up with me and answered my question about the cracking, they responded but they said they didn't do it, they were prompt when they diagnosed the problem and it was just the workmanship.

We just moved into our new house. We called Excel Plumbing to re-route our laundry room from the basement to the first floor. Excel sent two plumbers for 2 days. The house had been empty for 1 year. Fortunately, Excel was working on the laundry room when we had a sewer backup in the basement. Excel removed a section of broken sewer line and installed a clean out. They jetted the line out to the main sewer. Excel was great. The plumbers showed up on time and stayed late to get the laundry moved upstairs. John and Steve were very professional. I love my new laundry room. Excel worked well with the village to determine the sewer problem. They jetted the line twice (only charged me once) to ensure it was thoroughly cleaned out. Gino and Tom from the office were great in keeping me informed of the services performed and working with the village. I would definitely call Excel for any plumbing issues. We had a minor setback on 6/20 with another backup. Excel sent Alex who diagnosed the problem quickly. He knew the carpet was new and he made sure the area was well covered so nothing got on it. He even cleaned the sludge out of the tub so it sparkled. While writing his report in the truck he noticed, my elderly relative having trouble climbing the front steps of our house. He jumped out to help her out. He went above and beyond. Excel’s is fair priced, solution-minded and extremely professional.

These guys installed two hose bibs and a bathroom faucet for me. I bought the Angie's List deal that they were offering at the time and it saved me $50. The plumber was punctual, professional, friendly, and he did good work. The work was done in the fall, and in the spring I noticed that one of the hose bibs were leaking. Excel Plumbing is sending another plumber out on Monday for no charge to fix the problem. I'm sure that they'll fix the problem because they are professionals and leaders in the industry. Overall, I am very happy with the service that I received.

They sent the people here, and they did the check. They walked around the house, and gave me an estimate for what the problem was, and gave me an estimate for the cost of repairs. The inspection took about 20 minutes. The experience was a little above average. They responded pretty quick, I called and they came the next day. I think they overcharged, because I was charged half the price by Home Depot. It was my first time to use them. One technician came out. They gave a written paper. I compared their job with the job from Home Depot. The guy was more professional. I would consider them as a second choice not as a first choice.

Max did an excellent job! He was friendly, prompt, and helpful. He got my leaky drain and faucet fixed quickly, and explained what the problems were. The work was inexpensive, and I was really appreciative with how quickly and helpfully Excel scheduled my appointment. They worked with us and were very accommodating! I will absolutely use them from now on.

Excel replaced two master bathroom lavatory faucets. There was 3.17 hours of labor. I signed a contract for $830.00 but the job only lasted for 3.17 hours!!! I supplied the faucets and the supply lines. They supplied the shut-off valves. So, if I estimate $800 That means I am being charged almost $260 per hour!!!! This is a complete rip-off.I need you to protect me from this kind of unethical contractor which is on your list of approved contractors!!!

They sort of finally solved the problem, but it wasn't very smooth. They did the work, I guess there was a communication problem with how much I really wanted done, and the plumber stopped too soon. After several call backs, finally located the problem and the damage to repair that. He kept coming, there were a number of repeat calls before identifying the problem, and once it was correctly identified, it was resolved. It cost a lot more than the $50 of the big deal. We ended up as very unhappy campers, but the problem was eventually solved, it is just that had it been identified immediately, it would have been immediately solved. They can improve on better diagnosis. This was the first time I used them.

I'll probably get a quote from them but I would not automatically go with them. He was very punctual. He was very professional. He did a great job going over to the hardware and getting the specific piece that I needed. He tested it out and everything. It seemed to be fine but the reality is the plug closes too quickly. It's not functioning as well as it was before. They were going to charge me for coming out the second time. The quality was not done right the first time.

I paid like an extra $50. The quality of work was pretty standard. I would try somewhere else in future. His pricing was really my main concern. I felt that they are a good plumbing company.

Jim at Excel Plumbing was friendly, professional and did an outstanding job! I would use Excel Plumbing 10/10 for any future plumbing work. The price Jim quoted at the beginning stayed the same even though he needed to make several trips to the store for needed parts. Excellent experience with Excel. I called at 8:30AM and had a tech at my door at 11AM to replace my sump pump. Glynn was the technician, he was very professional and had everything done and cleaned up very quickly. I will definitely use Excel again.

They set up the appointment right away and were able to come on short notice the day after Thanksgiving. We had relatives staying in the basement, so were hoping for a quick resolution, and they delivered. Technician worked quickly and clearly took pride in his work. Would've appreciated him doing a little clean-up in the area after such a messy job, but the important thing was that we had a working pump.

I was very happy with the service and the drain in my master bath draining water normally now. I was not happy with how much the call cost. $275 for an hours worth of work was a little too expensive. All plumbers that I have dealt with in the past have charged an hourly rate for services. I also thought that plumber could have treated me with a little more professionalism. He was a little condescending at times.

It went great with Excel Plumbing. Max was supposed to arrive at 8:00 a.m. and he arrived twenty minutes early, which was a definite plus! My toilets were badly clogged and Max auged both of them, in a timely manner and they are "Functional." He did not make a mess, which I though may occur. I can only give Excel Plumbing the highest recommendation! There was a special, and I paid $50.00 to Angie's List, and got $100.00 off of my service. All in all, I will definitely use them as my "Go to Plumbing Company." I am so glad I called Angie's List, as I needed a great plumbing company and now I have it!! Alex, who provides excellent service on behalf of Excel Plumbing, has performed several needed repairs of our home plumbing system to date. He is professional, efficient, and polite, with each repair receiving the attention to detail necessary to ensure the work is done correctly. I intend to hire Excel Plumbing again in the near furtue for additional plumbing repairs, and will request Alex specifically as we were very pleased with his service.
