Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal form them. Right away, they were explain the offer and what I needed to know. Their services were outside of my budget, but they were helpful and let me know it up front.

Description of Work: this turned out better than I expected. I purchased a coupon from Angie's List for $50 for $100 worth of plumbing services. I had a leak in my basement from an ancient valve. the plumber arrived right on time. I showed him the leaking valve ( it was a water shut off valve for my kitchen sink, but located in the basement). Only one of the valves was leaking but both were the same type and age. It was just a matter of time before the other would also disintegrate and leak as well. He suggested that both valves be replaced and quoted me 160 for both. I agreed and in less than 20 minutes had both out and replaced with modern ball valves. He was fast, tidy and did wonderful work. I was thrilled with the completed job. Then I gave him the coupon and only had to give him $60 on top of the coupon. I will definitely be calling Excel the next time I need a plumber. |

Description of Work: Excel Plumbing does not work in high rise buildings. This should be spelled out on the information page to avoid wasted time and energy.

Description of Work: When I called Excel Plumbing to make an appointment for the advertised $100 of plumbing services, I said I wanted to have a faucet installed in my kitchen sink. She asked if that was all I wanted done, and I said yes. From that I assumed that $100 more than covered the installation of a faucet. However, when the plumber arrived on Jan 23, he said there was a flat fee of $250 for the installation, and that I would owe an ADDITIONAL $150! I said, there must be some mistake, because I was assured that what I already paid would cover the installation. Before beginning any work, the plumber the office to clarify. He asked me to speak to the person in the office, and she told me that, indeed I would have to pay an additional $150 to install the faucet. I said, no thanks. I was misled by Excel into thinking that there would be no additional payment required. The plumber was on time, professional, and very polite. Excel, however, failed to disclose their flat fee when I made the appointment with them. I do not want to do any further business with Excel and request a full refund of the $50 I paid for $100 of plumbing services.

Description of Work: I bought the $75 whole home plumbing inspection. I didn't hear back from them for almost a week, so I called them directly. They apologized and scheduled me for later in the week... luckily I was home because they screwed up and sent someone the next day! The service (Rick) was great. Very professional and knowledgeable. The whole home inspection took about an hour. Nothing fancy, but just an opportunity for me to get all my plumbing questions answered. I had him stick around to remove an old water filter line and clean out one of the sink handles. This probably took another 45 minutes and they charged an additional $150. I will use again, but call directly to schedule and be sure to double-confirm the date and time.

Description of Work: My sump pump went out,so I called Excel.Plumber arrived in 30 minutes with a pump,so my basement wasn't flooded.Not expansive.Work was done vary professionally.

Description of Work: Called company to come out for an estimate at which time I was told we would receive a call back to schedule. Estimator calls me back and says he can price without coming out and seeing job. Keep in mind this was a large project of adding a bathroom to the basement. Not a way I feel to do business without seeing job site!!

Description of Work: My kitchen sink started leaking uncontrollably. They sent out someone (George) within an hour and he fixed the problem in 5 minutes. No parts were needed, was just a loose bolt, but I was looking under the sink and the problem originated from up top. They charged me a small service charge that I was happy to pay given their very fast response - although given he was there for only 5 minutes, I would have loved a freebie for being part of Angie's List.

Description of Work: My sump pump was not working. They came out the same day I called and we problem solved through the mechanics of it and got it working in time for the rain storm that was expected the next day. I would most definitely call them again for anything.
