Excellent. I was unable to shovel the snow from my driveway and they guys came and did my entire driveway, entry and the applied the salts balls that are safe for grass and plants. I was very pleased and they did a great job!

These guys again proved they are amazing. They said they would be there on Saturday and even though it was raining off and on through out the day, they did an incredible job. the new wall was taller than the original and looks better than expected. In addition, just like they always do, they cleaned up before they left.

The owner & all the workmen on the job exceeded all my expectations & came up with very creative ideas. They will be the 1st I will call with any future projects.

We are very happy with their services. Professional, timely and do great work. The lady who runs the accounts at the office is amazing. One day we needed to get our lawn mowed in the morning instead of afternoon and she had it taken care of within an hour and had someone who doesn't normally do our lawn, change their route to fit us in. Could not ask for better customer service!

Their service was AMAZING. Initially, we were told they could do it all in 1 day. We were extremely skeptical and as it turned out it was a 2 full day project. The FIRST thing that showed how great they are, is on the first day, before they left, they took an edge trimmer and cleaned all the edges to a nice professional finish (not something we asked for but we really appreciated how it looked). Then also as part of their clean up took a leave blower and cleaned up all the corners of the driveway and sidewalk. My wife called me amazed at all they were doing and when I got home, the yard looked amazing. The next day they showed up bright and early and finished the work. We were so happy with the work, we have already had them come back out and give us some quotes for additional work. Now that those areas look so nice, the rest of the yard looks not as good.

My experience was A+ once again with Benito's Landscaping. From the ladies in the office who were very nice and friendly. They scheduled an appointment that fit my schedule. I like the fact that Benito or one of his brothers come out to estimate the work. It adds a nice personal touch to the experience. The estimate was returned within a weeks time and my work was scheduled soon after I returned my paperwork. The crew that came out worked so hard and were nice, professional, polite and just a great group of gentleman who worked wonderfully together. Many of my neighbors came to see their work and plan to use them in the future. I will be using them for all of my landscaping needs!

The provider reconfigured the topography of our backyard by redesigning large planting beds using river boulders, created a drainage area with river boulders, connected and buried downspouts, cleaned and removed yard debris and installed sod in exposed areas. The work constitutes the basis for a new Japanese garden we have in mind. I initially contacted the provider on Tue 7/21/15. They responded within a day and the appraiser, Scott, came to assess and price the work by Fri 7/24/15. He provided multiples ideas during the visit and delivered a proposal with itemized tasks by August 2, 2015. I accepted some of the items in the proposal by August 20 and the work was completed by August 31, 2015. All the process was completed within approximately 5 weeks. Benito and two workers came to the site on August 31, 2015 and got the work done on a single day with outstanding dedication and quality. They consulted with me on every step to make sure the work matched our (mind) design concept. In the process they delivered 4 trucks of dirt and materials for the planting beds, and hauled away all the unwanted yard waste. Benito, Edwin and Renee were very professional, made every effort to do the work the best way possible and provided multiple ideas for the selection of species; overall a very commendable service at a very reasonable fee. Benito and his crew are very busy so if you contact them the whole process will take several weeks. If you can?t wait go elsewhere, but like a highly rated restaurant, they are definitely worth the wait. I will use them again and you are welcome to see our project.

We had to reroute where our sump pump water was ultimately exiting under our front lawn. The previous owners had it right next to the street and we were cited for a code violation and had to move it quite a ways closer to our house. We talked to many places about this and the price really ranged on this work. Benitos Landscaping was local and were able to make a honest recommendation NOT to dig a gravel pit (a much more expensive project) first and try a simple fix first. I appreciated that honesty and the work was done quickly and with little hassle. I was pleased with the work and their response.

Benitos called me back immediately to let me know that they didn't service the Winfield, IL area. While I appreciate that they called to let me know, I was disappointed since we fall into the service area listed on their Angie's List description. Seemed a bit odd.

This is the third year in a row which we used Benito's for projects around our home. With the exception of one bush which is currently out of stock and should be available by mid August our landscape projects will be done. We are very happy with all of the work that Benitos' crews completed for us and have had a number of compliments on how our property looks. We will be sure to contact Benito for any future landscape needs.

My daughter and her family rent a home in the Downers Grove area. I was visiting from Oregon and have always felt that the yard was such an eyesore so I decided to research landscapers in the area and requested an estimate from Benito's. It took a couple of days for them to return my call but once they did, the ball got rolling and I was given an estimate in a timely manner. They were backed up with prior jobs by about a week but I got scheduled in and I have to say that the transformation was just what I had hoped for. The crew came in and I thought it was going to be quite an overwhelming job but they worked hard and completed the job within a day. Hats off to the hardworking crew. I am more than pleased with the results.

They came, they saw, they did the work to my husband's satisfaction.

When I initially contacted Benito's it took a while for them to get back to me and get a quote. Not super long, but long enough that I preemptively called (I was in a little time crunch). I caveat this with the fact that it was Spring, which is a super busy time for landscapers, so it was a reasonable delay, all things considered. I submitted the contracts to them on a Sunday night... and my lawn was cut on Monday. They did an excellent job and have been cutting my lawn for about 2 months and I've been very happy with them so far.

Benitos mowed once ?excellent work ? and we called to find out the schedule for the rest of the work. We paid them 700 dollars advance on the contract and for that the woman on the phone (I'm sorry I don't know her name) treated my husband to a rude, unprofessional tirade, and used an acusatory and mean-spirited tone to say it was "YOUR fault the work cannot be done for 6 to 8 weeks because YOU didn't schedule earlier". The timing had been discussed when we asked for an estimate. Regardless, it wasn't so much what she said ? everyone gets backed up with work ? it was the unbelievably disrespectful words and attitude ? and yelling ? YELLING ? at my husband. My husband is a customer service person and knows how to treat people with respect. This woman ruined what would probably have otherwise been a good business relationship. One bad-mouthed apple. I would invite the owners to contact us directly to discuss. We can't be the only ones that have a bad experience with the most forward-facing person from the company. We have cancelled our contract. Their ill-mannered customer service person? she owes my husband an apology, and a refund.

Wonderful overall, as usual. Not cheap, not easy to get in contact with during busy season, but when they showed up, they worked tirelessly and transformed our front, back and side yards into something lovely to look at and be proud of.

We had an approximately 24'x38' area where there was an above ground pool and surrounding deck. There was considerable chunks of concrete, large & small, from the deck footings that I had removed so the area could be seeded. Part of the area, @ 160 sq. ft., was a flower bed that bordered one side of the deck that had 2" of stone and plants that were removed. The area where the pool and deck sat was considerably below grade. Benito's crew of 3 guys came in and in 1 day removed the debris, brought in 12 yards of dirt, graded, and seeded the entire area. Within 5 days, the grass seed germinated and started to grow. Now, 3 weeks later, it is well-established and due for it's 1st cutting. More impressive, all the work was done manually, no heavy equipment which have could have damaged portions of our 60' x 200' backyard. I also asked them to excavate and 3-4' wide and 30' wide strip alongside the house and install a metal border I had purchased. (This was not part of the original bid as I had planned to do it myself.) No problem, done for an extra $50. By-the-way, I should mention that I've done a number of lawn restorations myself after excavating to repair water and/or sewer lines but just didn't have the time to do this work myself. I couldn't have done it any better. I should add that we chose Benito's for 2 reasons. They were the lowest bid by $400 and they were highly recommended by a friend of my who had them do some work. The only criticism I have is that Benito's is no different than most busy contractor's. Sometimes they return phone calls promptly and sometimes they can't. It can take several days for them to return calls.On the other hand, they are honest. Because of a miscommunication with my wife,we overpaid after the job was completed. The next day, they informed us we overpaid and sent the check back while we sent them the proper amount.

Gave what they considered a proper estimate for a major retaining wall. Expensive compared to the lesser, thousands cheaper but successful for 5 years, retaining wall neighbor had, but which Benito stated was insufficient and would fail.

It is terribly hard to get a hold of a live person there. I set up an estimate after they called back a couple days later (not a huge deal) and they gave me a 2-hour window of when they would arrive (who are you, Comcast? hahaha). I realized this is not typical at all when I set up actual appointment times with 3 other busy landscaping companies (all 3 were much easier to get a hold I might add). After calling their office 4 times over the span of 2 hours to see if they could narrow down to maybe an hour-window instead of a 2-hour window (the appointment was the next town over from their office by the way), I just left a voicemail to cancel. They must not have checked their voicemail because they called to see where I was the next day for the appointment. When I told them what happened, they were relatively nice about it (I don't think she believed how many times I tried calling though, I can upload a screen shot of my phone's call log if needed). They get good reviews on here, so I bet they do great work, but at the end of the day I need a contractor I can get a hold of.

Update: As you can see by her response to my review, their customer service rep is very ineffective -- solution to the problem could have been.."Sorry about the mix up, when can we schedule a better time for you for us to come out". Real easy. Nonetheless, hopefully she learns how to work with customers, as the guys were really easy to work with and their work is pretty darn good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not so good. Benito's have really grown to fast too soon, and their customer service can be horrific. Just got off the phone with their customer service agent, and even though I was told one time for an appointment she coined it as "Well, looks like YOU missed an appointment with one of the owners!" Gee, sorry, that you told me the wrong time and blamed me. Please learn how to deal with people or get a new job. Tragic, as I wanted to use them to build a retaining wall and patio this year. And, I will NOT be renewing my fall and spring cleanup. BTW - having worked with Pasquale in the past, he is great, but guys get someone who knows how to work with your long term customers.

I understand that this is a busy time of year for all landscapers. I called several other landscapers and no one bothered to call me back. Fortunately, Benito's did and I met with the estimator and they cleaned up my yard, planted seed and sod. I couldn't be happier. The workers are so nice and work so hard. The finished result is wonderful. If you have patience to wait a day or two for a call back, they're worth the wait.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BUSINESS OR THEIR TERRIBLE NON EXISTANT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Had an estimator come out. All seemed to go well, was happy with pricing and the people that came out were nice and answered my questions. Was told that I would receive a phone call in a day or two from the office to set up a date of service. A week went on and didn't hear anything.. after a couple phone calls to them I was able to get in touch with the office. There they told me they would send me the contract and after I signed it and sent it back with a 50% down payment I would be contacted to set up a date for the work. Over a week after sending in the paperwork and money in I still didn't get contacted from the office. I tried calling a couple days in a row with no answer from them even after leaving voicemails. Ended up checking my bank account and seeing that they had deposited my check well over a week prior, so I called and kept calling for a week with no phone calls being answered or responded to. Finally, today the office answered a phone call from me. When I voiced my concern over my money being deposited and not getting any response from them for all this time I was told that they didn't need to deal with the stress I was causing and terminated the contract on me. I have a feeling its going to be a pain to get my $400 back from them. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BUSINESS!

Expensive rubber mulch was left all over my yard, in my next door neighbors yard and in the street. There were patches of grass cut so short that the ground was exposed. The workers then inappropriately spoke in Spanish thinking that I wouldn't understand while I explained the damaged they caused. When I contacted their office Julie, the manager, did not and would not resolve anything. Then when I explained the workers were cursing in Spanish it was brushed off like nothing. Very poor customer service. When I asked to have someone call me I was told Scott is just an estimator and Benito would not call me. Absolutely the worst customer service I've experienced.

2014 was my 1st year with Benito's. I was very please and signed up for 2015.

All went quite well they cleaned up thoroughly and promptly. Did have to point out a few improperly pruned branches but, foreman had workman go back promptly and correct mistake.

Came to provide a quote. After our discussion, as Mr. Benito was leaving, my next landscaper walked in to quote. Mr. Benito's office called and said they won't work with us. They felt it is disrespectful on my part to schedule quote with another provider at the same time. I didn't schedule the appointment at the same time. THey were back to back I worked with Mr. Benito in 2006 and was a happy customer. Sadly by refusing to quote, and work with us, I am definitely unhappy. I feel, I have every right to check out the market for prices. Mr. Benito shouldn't feel threatened in anyway.
