Description of Work: Installed a sink faucet and a new bathroom sink faucet. I thought since I bought both fixtures that 1.25 hours of labor would be cheaper than $275.00. I think very highly of Preferred Plumbing and will highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Preferred Plumbing was recommended to me by the company that services my furnace. I called Michael regarding my hot water heater breaking down - he was very responsive. Brian and Chaz arrived on time, were very polite, professional and clean. Heaven forbid I have any more plumbing issues, but if I do, you can bet I will be contacting Preferred Plumbing.

Description of Work: Came out to evaluate a ceiling stain of unknown origin below a shower, toliet, and tub. The man who came out was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He was here for about an hour and cleaned up everything. The service/visit charge was rolled into the total cost. (I have had used plumbers in the past who treated this as a separate charge.) Overall, very happy with service. The only down side to the interaction was the initial phone call for service. One of the partners answered (not the man who came out for the actual service) who was rather brusque and once he got some details was quite ready to get off the phone with me instead of answering some questions.

+ -1 moreWent very well. I think they are honest and fair and hard-working. I see their trucks throughout my town working as well on a fairly regular basis. I would use them again and plan to call them again next Spring for line rodding.
Description of Work: Preferred Plumbing was recommended by our Village (north riverside) after another plumbing company (Dunn-Rite out of Hickory Hills-sorry haven't got around to posting a report on them yet ) hosed us or more accurately lied to us about needing our sewer line replaced. Mike from Preferred Plumbing came out and scoped the line and there was debris and roots within but no broken tile and huge issues requiring replacement. They were able to clean it out and gave us tremendous piece of mind after our Dunn-Rite (Dunn-Wrong) experience. Then they repaired part of the line that the bozos had already began destroying (which was likely fine to begin with) and covered it up with gravel. I have heard from other neighbors very positive things about this company before and after using them and would use them in the future. Only issue is I think because they are so good and honest they are sometimes hard to get ahold of. This was a good experience though and I highly recommend them

+ -1 moreMy kitchen and plumbing were modified by the installation company working for the place where I bought my dishwasher and garbage disposal--there had never been either in my old kitchen before. Between the other company's shoddy plumbing job and drains that weren't ready to deal with the volume from the dishwasher and washing machine running simltaneously (they are on the same wall), we needed for the drain to be snaked and for the plumbing to be redone under the kitchen sink. The tech needed parts and ran to the local hardware store to get them, without tacking time onto our bill. When our toilet needed a new wax ring a year ago, we didn't hesitate to call them again.

Description of Work: We had oringinally been referred to them by a co-worker of ours who was friends with them. They replaced a water heater for us, which we paid them for immediately. However, when we called to have additional work done, they never returned our phone calls. We tried calling several times over several weeks and kept leaving messages, but they never returned any of our calls. Even if they were not interested in doing the job, a return phone call would have been appreciated. Eventually, we found other plumbers on AngiesList that were much more professional.

+ -1 moreCame home after work to find small amount of water in the hallway outside the master bathroom. Traced it to the toilet - but just a small amount of water there. It was draining into the basement (unfinished). I turned off the water to the toilet and it stopped. Called Michael and he came first thing in the morning. He was extremely helpful and fixed the problem within an hour. He also noticed a couple of other problems and offered solutions to those also.
Description of Work: Had to change the supply line, ballcock and flapper in master bathroom toilet.

+ -1 moreMichael gave me an estimate for the work, pulled the permit and started within two days. The workers were excellent. They kept me informed throughout the job. They dug a hole next to my house and found the broken pipe. The pipe was partially under the porch step. They were thoughtful and careful in the repair and caused absolutely no concrete damage. They power rodded the sewer line twice to make sure that it was clear and there were no other obvious breaks in the pipe. They left the area so clean and neat it didn't even look like they had been there!

+ 0 moreI was surprised at how quick the work was done. They were extremely good. Really, these guys were awesome. I m not going to give the guys an A for pricing, but it was right there. They were friendly. When you deal with anybody in the construction trade, they tend to talk down to you when you re an old lady. Everybody treated me nice, and I appreciated that.
Description of Work: They replaced a 40 gallon hot water tank. They also replaced 77 year old piping that was leaking. The work took a day.

REMOVED OLD CONCRETE LAUNDRY TUB (NON-FUNCTIONAL AND RUSTED), INSTALLED NEW FIBERGLASS DOUBLE BOWL TUB WITH NEW DRAIN CONNECTIONS AND PIPING. ADDED NEW SHUTOFFS ON BOTH SIDES OF OUR WATER METER, NEW OUTSIDE SPICKET, UPGRADED WATER LINE FOR FRIDGE FROM BASEMENT, AND GENERALLY CLEANED EVERYTHING UP (REMOVED ALL DEBRIS AND OLD PIPING, CLEANED THEIR WORK AREAS AFTERWARDS). WATER PRESSURE IMMEDIATELY INCREASED THROUGHOUT HOUSE, ALL-BRASS FITTINGS AND COPPER PIPES WILL LAST DECADES, WISE INVESTMENT FOR THE $$. HE WAS VERY POLITE ON THE PHONE, KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED, AND HIS BID WAS VERY COMPETITIVE. WE ALSO LIKED THE FACT THAT HE WAS LOCAL, KNEW THE AREA, AND HAD BEEN IN BUSINESS (SPECIALIZING IN OUR AREA AND SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS) FOR SOME TIME. I CALLED ON A THURSDAY MORNING AND HE CAME TO DO THE INSTALL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. GREAT COMMUNICATION, HIS CREW WAS ON TIME, CLEAN, THOROUGH, AND WE'RE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. HE INSTALLED A NEW 40 GALLON GAS WATER HEATER IN ABOUT 2 HOURS, SHOWED US HOW TO WORK EVERYTHING, EXPLAINED EVERYDAY MAINTENANCE, ETC. HE ALSO GAVE US A QUOTE ON REPLACING THE OLD PIPES IN OUR BUNGALOW TO COPPER PIPES, TO INCREASE WATER PRESSURE. WE WILL PROBABLY DO THAT IN THE NEXT 6MO-1YEAR. I'D HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
