Perfectly. I called one of the numbers for Care of the Trees and found myself talking to the Schiller Park office. Explained what I wanted and an appointment was made for a ISA Certified Arborist, Evan Shorr to come out and give me an evaluation. Within a week, Mr. Shorr on 3/27/09 came out and gave me his recommendations based on what I wanted and needed to be done. I compliment the skill of the workers on triming my beautiful large, but in the wrong setting, Blue Spruce. Also, on the complete removal of the overly large and dead or dying junipers. They worked very hard in a very small area and no one got hurt.

We have decided to let them do the work. They will also take off some of the limbs and take everything away. He will be trimming five threes and two shrubs.

Their representative came to our home on May 29, 2009 to give us an estimate for trimming some trees and bushes, and spraying our crab apple tree. His price seemed fair so, against my better judgement I gave him the requested deposit of $200.00. (The total charge was under $600.00)We were told that someone would be out to do the first tree spraying in a couple of weeks and that the trees and shrubs would be trimmed before the end of the second week in June. Our tree was sprayed on sechedule but, to date we have not had our trimming done or have we been contacted by the company concerning a delay. They came again today to spray the tree, my husband sent them away. We don't want to incur an additional expense with this company. We have lived in our home for 30 years and this is the first time a tree service has asked us for a deposit to perform work and then not contacted us about a delay concerning the bulk of the work. I feel that we were given the time frame that we were because they knew that I wanted my lilacs pruned the first part of June so that I could get into my garden.

I called a couple companies I had done business with before to come look at my tree -- the leaves were being devoured by something. After they came out (one after 3 days, one not for almost 2 weeks) , an acquaintance suggested I call Davey. Steve called me back promptly, and arranged to come look at the tree that afternoon. He said it was elm flea weevil and recommended an insecticide spray and root fertilization. He also explained a lot about which treatments do what and optimal timing, since this may be a problem again in future years. I signed off on getting the work done. The next day, someone came and did the root fertilization; he couldn't spray because of rain. The following day it was sunny and someone else came and sprayed the tree.

I like the fact that they will explain what they recommend, and why. I had 2 trees, one was very young and the other was very old. They both were not going to make it. After discussing why I wanted to keep them, they made a suggestion about which tree should go and problems that could result in keeping both. I did what they recommended and it was the best decision I made. I have about 12 trees that I have work done, so the price is pending on how much work they have to do to care for it. At times they will climb up and cut my neighbor s tree limbs that are hanging over my house. There are times I make special request, and they carry through with no problems. They send out an expert first to evaluate what needs to be done. The Care of Trees are very accommodating and you don t have to be home when they perform their job. They keep their times and appointments when they're made. I will continue to use them for my lawn care.

Great-Paul came over within a few days of my call. He walked the property, gave me suggestions and was very prompt with his written estimate. I had a second quote and he was happy to review the two side by side. His price was very reasonable for the amount of work we needed(22 trees on property)and his crew came right away to do the job. Also, we needed this completed quickly because of insurance issues on the new house and he did everything he could to help with documentation, etc. I trust their knowledge and expertise-Paul is a certified arborist.

Our experience with this company has been excellent. We have Evergreen trees that are over 20 feet tall. They saved our Evergreen trees from an infestation. Also, all of our trees have thrived and grown tremendously with their fertilizing program. We work with Matt Hengel, the District Manager from the Naperville location, and he has been great to work with and he is full of information. This company has enhanced the beauty of our property by properly caring for our trees. We are serviced by them every year. They are well worth the investment.

They do good work. I've used them several years and always good.

Arborist comes every year and prunes and feeds the trees he also gives advice on how to take care of the trees. Shawn the arborist is excellent, pleasant, and helpful. Very dependable and they know what they are doing and very reliable.

We were very impressed by the professionalism of the arborist, Shawn. Other companies wanted to top the tree off, but Shawn was able to trim the tree significantly and still leave the tree design looking nice. We were extremely impressed that branches were hoisted down with rope, which meant we did not have large dents in the yard to fill. They were also able to perform the trimming without bringing in any heavy equipment, which others said they had to do. This would have ruined my yard. They covered a section of our garden to guard against anything falling on it. His responsibilities were clearly described on the back of the contract. He was able to calm down an irate neighbor, who felt the tree needed more trimming. Shawn assured him that the trimming would resolve the neighbor's concerns of the tree falling in his yard. They did an excellent job of cleaning up.

I used Angie's List to collect a list of providers to do tree trimming/pruning. This service required a $65 deposit just to come and visit for the estimate (stating that they used a certified arborist). None of the other services required an estimate and I declined the visit request because of this requirement.

Had to remove tree before I could erect fence. They arrived 1st appointment on the required day. (Fencing company coming next day. Removed tree without damaging neighbors shed or fence. Cleaned up very well, removed and ground up the cut wood. Tree had grown to consume chain link fence. Cut wedge to get stump to ground level. No other service had come up with that as a solution. Note: Only bidder to require a down payment.

After calling for an estimate, was informed that arborist would want to meet in person and they were flexible on meeting time. Arborist recommended removing storm damaged tree as soon as possible which they were able to do 2 or 3 days later. They came back on a different trip to thin trees and remove 2 trees, but they forgot to grind the stumps, so after calling them they came out a third time to remove the stumps. They left then without trimming a honeysuckle shrub, so I called them again and just asked to remove the shrub completely which they did on their fourth trip. It took about 6 weeks for all work to be completed. They did a nice job, but I'm not sure why it took 4 trips to our house to complete all the work. People who answered the phone were helpful. Their price was substantially lower than one estimate and comparable to another estimate. I liked that I met the arborist in person and was able to ask questions which is the ultimate reason we picked this company over another.

We were impressed with their work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and did an excellent job cleaning up. Our only complaints are that telephone calls were not always promptly returned and it was difficult to get a definite start date for the job.

The representative I dealt with was C. Vranek. She was very thorough and professional. The price was not cheap but she was reasonable about the work that needed to be done. I appreciated all of the information that she shared with me about my trees.

Excellent! Shawn was the arborist who came to give a quote. We knew our neighbors were also interested in trimming their trees, and when all was said and done, five of us on the block utilized The Care of Tree Services. He gave a quote to each of us (we were all able to utilize a group discount), and then phoned us to tell us the scheduled date, knowing we wanted to be home when they did the work. They completed the work - very nicely and cleanly - and then gave a call back to make certain we were happy with their work. Though price may have been a bit higher than others, we would definitely use again for their professionalism and expertise!

ARBORIST INFORMATIVE WITHOUT BEING PUSHY. WORKERS VERY NEAT AND TIMELY. OFFICE STAFF PROFESSIONAL.

I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. THEIR PRICE WAS ABOUT THREE TIMES THE OTHER PRICES I GOT FOR THE SAME JOB, AND THE ARBORIST THEY SENT OUT WAS ONE OF THE MOST CONDESCENDING PEOPLE I'VE TALKED TO IN A LONG TIME.

I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY FOR 20 YEARS TO CARE FOR THE TREES ON A HEAVILY WOODED LOT. THEY ALSO HAVE DONE PRE-BUILDING EVALUATIONS AND WORKED WITH THE DEVELOPER TO MAINTAIN THE HEALTH OF TREES DURING THE BUILDING PROCESS. NOW, THEY ARE ON AN AUTOMATIC SCHEDULE OF BILLING AND MAINTENANCE.

THEY ARE TOO QUICK TO MAKE JUDGMENTS AND SHOULD TEST TREES EXTENSIVELY TO FIND OUT WHAT THE TRUE PROBLEM IS. I THINK SINCE WE RECEIVED A FREE ESTIMATE BECAUSE OF THE ANGIE'S LIST REFERRAL, THE AMOUNT OF TIME AND EFFORT TAKEN FOR THE DIAGNOSIS WAS NO WHERE CLOSE TO WHAT WAS NEEDED.

AS ALWAYS, THE CARE OF TREES DOES A FIRST RATE JOB. THEY ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. WE'VE USED THEM FOR MANY YEARS, AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

SKEET, THE ARBORIST, KNOWS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT ABOUT TREES. I LEARNED A LOT DURING THE PROCESS. SERVICE WAS PROMPT AND PROFESSIONAL. CREW WAS ON TIME, POLITE, EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WERE DOING, USED GOOD SAFETY PRACTICES. PRICES ARE SOMEWHAT HIGH; THEY RECOMMENDED I USE ANOTHER COMPANY TO TAKE DOWN A DEAD TREE ''YOU DON'T NEED A TRAINED ARBORIST TO DO THAT'' TO SAVE MONEY.

HE WAS HONEST ABOUT THE CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CARE REQUIRED FOR EACH TREE. WE CHOSE TO HAVE ONE AT RISK TREE REMOVED. POSTPONED ANY OTHER WORK BECAUSE PROBLEM COULDN'T BE PINPOINTED. THE TREE WE HAD REMOVED WAS LEANING A LOT AND THEREFORE 'AT RISK' FOR FALLING AT ANY TIME. WE WERE TOLD THAT WOULD PUT US NEAR THE TOP OF THE LIST FOR REMOVAL. THEY REQUIRED 1/2 OF TOTAL COST TO BE PREPAID, WHICH WE DID ON 8/08/03. HOWEVER, THE TREE WAS NOT REMOVED UNTIL 9/04/03, AND THAT WAS AFTER I MADE A FOLLOW-UP CALL TO INQUIRE WHEN THE WORK WOULD BE DONE. WHEN THE WORK WAS DONE, THEY CAME ON TIME AND WORKERS WERE EXCELLENT AND CLEAN-UP GREAT, BUT WE WEREN'T HAPPY PAYING 1/2 IN ADVANCE AND THEN WAITING SO LONG TO HAVE THE WORK COMPLETED, ESPECIALLY WITH NO EXPLANATION OR FOLLOW-UP CONTACT EXCEPT THAT WHICH WE INITIATED.

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FAST. CLEANED UP ENTIRE AREA COMPLETELY AND EVEN MANAGED TO AVOID DAMAGING A TINY LILAC SEEDLING THAT WAS RIGHT IN THEIR PATH!!

USED THE CHICAGO LOCATION, ON LAFLIN. COMPANY ARRIVED ON TIME, HAULED ALL DEBRIS, AND REMOVED DEAD SHRUBS FOR FREE. DID NOT RING BELL BEFORE THEY STARTED WORK.
