I have used Acey in the past and was quite happy with his service. In this case, however, Acey did not come out to the appointment. Without notifying me, he sent over a contractor named Ryan. Ryan quickly diagnosed that the pump had to be replaced. He showed me a picture of the pump he would use as well as the price. Within an hour he had finished the work. Later that day I recevied a call from Acey to tell me that the contractor had actually used a different and superior, yet more expensive pump but charged me for the less expensive pump. Acey said that the one installed was apropriate for my house, however, when the contrator was out he told me that the stainless tell type of pump he planned to install was better than iron pumps like the one that he did install. It all made me wonder if he just replaced the pump with whatever he had in his truck regardless of the needs of the septic system. Acey asked if I would cover half of the difference of the more expensive pump. I agreed to this based on my past experience wth Acey. I tend to believe that Acey was right, but the whole experience makes me question the credibility of the contractor and even wonder if there were not some way to fix the original pump, less than two years old, instead of replacing it. I will never know now. Acey's Angies list description for Sump Pump Medics state that they only use contractors for electrical work and major tile jobs, but this does not appear to be true and should be noted. Despite all of this, I would consider using Acey in the future, but only if he confirmed that he would come out himself and not send a contractor.

Excellent. Acey is very informative and makes sure you understand all the options and reasons for said options. He gave us at least three options and all were good ones. He just makes it happen and does very quality work. I will recommend him to anyone I know in the Greater Chicago area that needs any help with their sump pump or foundation needs.

My overall experience was very positive. I researched the equipment that I wanted to buy ahead of time. I called three different people that I found over the internet. Acey was prompt in calling back and he sounded the most knowledgeable and respectable of those that I spoke with. He arrived the next day and provided me with a free quote of want I wanted and possible alternative(s). I couldn't be happier with the final product. Meticulous installation. Job site left clean and time was taken to discuss installation and functionality of product. I would highly recommend them for your needs.

Acey came out and gave us two alternatives with very reasonable estimates for the work to be performed. He showed up for the installation and did a very fine job, in less time than he had estimated, saving us an appreciable amount of money. The sump pumps work very well, and are quiet and efficient, emptying the sump much faster than the original equipment. We are very pleased with his work, and would recommend him highly.

For several days our sump pump was emitting a high pitched noise. After checking Angie's List, we called Sump Pump Medic and Acey came on a Saturday to replace our pump with a Storm Pro 1/3 HP and a new digital level control valve. He also looked at our outside run off and installed a temporary pipe until the system can be rerouted underground in the Spring. We hightly recommend his services and would use him again.

Last week the sump pump in my basement started making a loud humming noise and was not pumping out the sewage, so I found Sump Pump Medic through Angies list and gave Acey Sell a call. He was able to come out the same day and fix the problem. Acey was very professional and courteous. He clearly explained the problem as he analyzed it and I even had him do soem additional work on the separate rain water sump pump to prevent potential back-up issues in the future. I could not have asked for anything more. I highly recommend Acey.

Awesome experience. He was great - timely, punctual, very honest. I had my sump pump serviced and inspected, knowing that it was old but not sure how old and if needed to be replaced. He could have told me that I absolutely needed a new one, but instead left it up to me after a very, very thorough inspection with all kinds of info. He added his thought that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. I really respect the honesty and when it does break, I'll certainly call Sump Pump Medic.

Overall the experience was great. We called him on Monday and he came out on Tuesday to check everything out. Then on Wednesday he performed and completed the job just as quoted and on the money. I would trust him with any sump pump or waterproofing jobs. Acey was thorough in every step of the process and made sure I understood what he was doing and we are really happy that we don't have to worry about it anymore.

Acey is extremely knowledgeable in his field, and the customer is first and foremost. In fact, Acey was running a couple minutes behind schedule and he called to tell me - I would have not have given it any thought if someone is 10 -15 minutes late, afterall we do live in a large metro area and we do have traffic. Once Acey arrived he went over everything that we previously discussed, when I set up the appointment, to ensure that he covered all of the areas of my concern. If you have a sump pump in your house - you need Acey!

After the recent blizzard effects started to melt, my sump pump battery back up alarm went off and the back up pump was initiated. I reset it a few times and by the next day the alarm would be going off. I found Acey here on Angie's List. Although not many reviews, I wanted someone close to home to come and look at it and all his reviews were extremely positive. Also, his business is only sump pumps and he's been doing this for over a decade. He worked for a company where this was his primary job and then he started his own business a few years back. I mention this b/c on the BBB site, he is rated A- only b/c he is considered a new business, but don't be fooled, he has plenty of experience. Acey gave me a two hour window in which he would arrive as I was in the middle of two other appointments. He came the day after I called per my request. Scheduling was easy and he arrived at the early end of his estimate. He gave me a 15 minutes heads up call which was nice because I was able to go to work in the am and then go back to work after he was done. He came in and wore booties so the wood floors in my house would not have snow tracked into them. He assesed the situation and the switch on my sump pump was working intermittently. The sump pump was five years old (a Zoeller) and unfortunately only the switch could not be replaced. He recommended the entire pump be replaced, so I did with a more energy efficient one (cost=$289), as well as one that if the switch failed again, then only the switch would need to be replaced instead of the entire pump. Acey was very thourough and knowledgeable and explained things to me in a way I could understand. He also recommended a new flap valve on my main sump pump pipe as that was also not opening as efficiently as it should, so I replaced this as well with a clear one so if it fails or is not working it can easily be seen (cost = $75). He also checked my backup battery and it would last a little while longer but didn't have many crank amps left so he recommended either replacing it now or in the near future. As he was there, I stated go ahead and do it (cost ~ $200). He also inspected everything else and it was in working condition. He had a checklist of everything he did, which was nice b/c it gave me peace of mind that the system was well checked out and was now working. The last recommendation he had was that in a perfect world, the backup and main pump would have separate drain pipes, which my house did not have. I held off on this as he was honest about this and said it could be done later or not at all. His labor was $95/hr and the whole job took 2 hours. On top of that, he threw in a water level alarm, readjusted the back up switch, educated me on how to maintain the equipment and gave me a 10% discount that was on his website. Right before leaving, he also stated that since it was the switch on the pump that was faulty on not the pump, we could keep it and use it for other tasks (like pumping water out of our pool or whatever), we would just have to make sure the switch was engaged. Overall, an excellent experience and I now have a sump pump guy.

Found Acey on Angie's list on Satruday, July 24 after our town flooded. He came out on Monday to give us an estimate on a new sump pump. He had some great ideas about how to solve our flooding problem. We were leaving for vacation on Friday and really wanted the work done before we left. Acey called his supplier and confirmed that the pumps and parts were available. Then he scheduled the installation for Thursday. He arrived on time, did all of the work himself and worked until the job was done. We are very happy with the new sump pumps and would highly recommend this company.

I called Acey in the morning and although he had a busy schedule he was able to fit me in that day. The first thing I noticed about him is that he strives to be prompt. In the morning he made sure to tell me when he thought he would be able to make it out but then in the evening he called again to let me know when he was leaving and what time he expected to arrive. I appreciated that about him. Acey is also very professional and extremely knowledgeable. I think he could do this job in his sleep. He answered all my questions no matter how simple or convoluted and never once did he seem annoyed. In fact, I can tell he really enjoys his job and takes pride in what he does. He told me step by step what he was going to do and made sure I approved before doing it. Upon entering my house he took time to put on his booties and was careful with anything he had to move out of the way to get to the sump pump. The other thing which I think is important and I would want to know when reading reports as well, is whether or not the customer felt ripped off. In this case I can tell you that Acey is not that type of person that would even try to rip you off if your knowledge of what he needs to do is lacking. He is more likely to try to educate you without coming off condescending. He actually did not charge me for attaching the extension to the drain pipe or for giving the sump pump a quick check. It was a pretty simple fix but he could have charged since he actually did the work on the spot and didn?t just provide an estimate to come back later then charge. He strikes me as very honest in his dealings and that along with his excellent workmanship and service will make me definitely hire him again. Acey is now my sump pump guy!

The work went very well. Acey is very experienced and knowledgable and was able to answer all of my questions. He was also able to provide solutions to all my concerns. I would recommend them to anyone.
