I have been very happy with their services. They most recently performed routine maintenance on the units. They are very prompt. They also are good with walking you through the steps of what they are going to do. I will be using them again in the future.

Unique Indoor installed three Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless air conditioners/heaters in our two bedroom condo in North Lakeview. The Mitsubishi unit we ended up going with was recommended by the company, and we couldn't be happier. Not only was Tony Pawlik, our sales rep, exceptionally professional and prompt in responding to questions, but the installation team was also top notch. We were very close to signing with another contractor, but after having issues with prompt responses to inquiries, I'm so glad we ended up with Unique Indoor. We had an unusual request - to install the main "outdoor" unit below our condo in the building garage, to avoid having the large unit on our patio. This involved finding a place to go through the foundation and make sure that all piping in the garage was out of the way. Not only was Unique Indoor able to fulfill this request, they found creative solutions to work around several obstacles encountered during the installation to avoid going over budget. It was a complicated installation but they made it look easy. They even finished a little earlier than expected on the second day. On top of everything, we received a thank you note in the mail. We are absolutely thrilled with our new system. It's energy efficient and much quieter than our previous wall units. In fact we don't even hear them operating. For the first time in four years, we have a comfortable home with uniform temperatures in all rooms. This has improved our quality of life significantly, and we owe it all to Unique Indoor. I've used Unique for 7 years to service by furnace and AC. I've also called them for emergency repairs. My air purifier stopped working so I called them. $99 service call ($49 of which would be applied to future repair). They quoted me $438 for a replacement circuit kit + installation of at least $75 (on top of the $50 I already paid for the first visit). I sourced the part online for $165 and called them. Long and the short, they weren't willing to adjust their price. "That's the cost of doing business and keeping trucks on the road and having certified techs." I'm paraphrasing, but a 250% markup on parts is ridiculous. Great for service, but go elsewhere for any parts/replacements.

The guy that did the installation was good and professional. The big problem was that it was one guy, as opposed to two. The second guy could not get here until about 4:30 because Unique had him working somewhere else. I was perfectly happy to help carry the new furnace down the stairs and take the old one out, but I hope they weren't assuming that I would help. Because they couldn't get the second worker here until late they ended up cleaning until 9 P.M. My 2 year old daughter goes to bed at 8:30 so we didn't really appreciate the noise. Besides that it was apparently my responsibility to track down the government rebate that had been part of the sales pitch. It did arrive after I asked about it through email two days later (since there was no follow up phone call either).

Both homes were built in the early 1900's with hot water radiant heat, so neither home had existing ducts, or air conditioning. In addition, both homes have plaster and lathe walls and ceilings, with original varnished wood trim and crown moldings. Unique was able to install the 2" vents throughout both homes, preserving the original plaster and woodwork without having to add or disguise duct work. After installation, Unique tested the systems they installed to be sure they were heating and cooling the whole house evenly, and they remained available for prompt follow up until we (and they) were satisfied. The systems they installed are monitored every year to ensure that they remain well-balanced, so we don't have hot or cold spots in either home. In my experience, Unique's employees are consistently polite, punctual, considerate, and very neat. I have had several opportunities over the years to work with Steve Ignoffo personally. Like everyone else at Unique, Steve is knowledgeable, thorough, and patient. He is very responsive to customer concerns, and responds to questions promptly. Unique may not be the least expensive company for the services they provide, but their honesty and integrity more than compensate for the additional dollars spent up front. On several occasions, Steve has saved us money in both the short term and in the long run by steering us in the right direction when we were facing decisions about heating or cooling. He has taken the time to learn about our long-term plans, and clearly explained our range of choices, with the pros and cons for each. I have complete confidence in Unique, and wouldn't consider using any one else for our heating and cooling service.

I had hesitated to install a high velocity air central air conditioning system in my 1923 coop unit because the first company who gave me an estimate said that they may have to drop soffits and ruin my original crown moulding. My upstairs neighbor had a different company and ended up replacing all the crown moulding in his dining room, adding to the total cost and hassle. When I had the salesman from Unique Indoor Comfort give me an estimate, he thought they could do it without damage to the existing trim. I agreed and they did a beautiful job installing the system in a building can only be descibed as "technically challenging."The installers were professional, very tidy and cleaned up every night after themselves. Somehow they snaked tubes through the ceiling and into all of 3000 square feet of my coop. They left tape where I was to decide which duct opening placement I preferred and made sure that they were centered appropriately.I was worried that I would need to patch the plaster around the holes, but there was no need to. I was entirely satisfied with my experience and would recommend them highly. My only regret is that I lived with wndow units for 4 years!

I came home from church to find the house cooling. Having used Unique Indoor Comfort before and been pleased with their promptness, I called at 1:30 p.m. Laura took my name and number and said the scheduler would call me back shortly. Tony called back in less than 15 minutes and said a technician would be there in about half an hour. Alex arrived in exactly half an hour! It turns out he was the same tech who diagnosed my A/C problem last summer. I live in a manufactured home, and things are a little different than in a stick-built home. Alex seemed comfortable with both my A/C unit and now, the furnace. Within another half-hour, he had diagnosed the problem and offered me a choice of an after-market part he had with him (same specs; slightly different mounting hardware) or special ordering an original equipment replacement, which would take at least another day. I chose the after market replacement. It's working just fine. I fully expected to pay a premium for emergency weekend service, and I did. The specific charges were told to me before I agreed to the work, and that's what I was charged. I feel the work was done professionally, and certainly quickly! This company does what it says it's going to do, and when it says it's going to do it. No time estimate I was given was more than a few minutes off. I will rely on Unique Indoor Comfort for any future service needs, and can highly recommend them to anyone.

Both Pete and Nelson offered suggestions on how to make our boiler more energy efficient which we will pursue this winter. They also informed us of their unique air conditioning system for older homes that heat with hot water and have no duct system in place. Pete and Nelson were professional, knowledgeable, and very informative!

When I called they were very accommodating and got a Salesman out that same afternoon and said a service tech would come out a little later that day. When the salesman came out it was determined that the A/C was un-repairable and that we would need a new A/C unit. Salesman provided us with a detailed writted quote and got us on the schedule in 2 days. We provided him with a deposit and he said that he would be back on the day of the install to make sure all was ok and to pick up the final payment. Service technicians arrived as scheduled and on time and were very pleasant, neat and courteous. Noticed that they did not provide (3) items from the salesman's quote. The technician explained that one of the items was not necessary and that it would cause us more harm than good. I was a bit dissappointed that the salesman and techs were not on the same page. The salesman never called or came back on the date of the install as promised. He explained that he had another install to assist on and that's understandable but I believe he should have called to inform us that he would not be coming. He then got called out of town for a family emergency. The salesman returned to go over what was not completed and issued us a credit. In addition, he called the installer in front of my husband and reprimanded him which we believe was in poor taste. We had also inquired about a maintenance agreement for our furnace and the A/C once out of warranty and it took so long to get the information that we decided to go without it. There was also one item that the salesman said he would have the installer come back and fix. After 2 weeks without it being scheduled or followed up on I called and let them know to forget it.

Installation of condenser went very well, however the A Coil turned out to be a problem. The Service technician upon opening the old A coil saw that this was not a typical installation. The last installer replaced a cased coil with a non cased coil unit and used sheet metal to cover the unit. While this worked it caused problems with the new installation of a non cased A coil. The installer tried extremely hard to fit the new A coil into the system. He worked late into the evening to try an get the house cooled that evening. It was decided to order a cased A coil unit to fit the heating unit, After installing the A coil a temporary sheeting was placed to cover up the unit. At a later time they will come back out and replace the temporary sheeting with the right sheet metal covering at no expense.

It went very well, in spite of all the structural challenges our 1927 building offered. We were surprised Unique didn't probe and survey the building structure more in depth before the start of the work, which made us nervous. Some vents could not be installed where originally planned, but the whole system was successfully installed in two and a half weeks (a little over the 2 weeks in our quote). They even hired a structural engineer to assuage one of our concerns and didn't charge anything over the original quote. Both the general manager and the various installers we dealt with were very professional, responsive and reliable. We are very satisfied with the installation.

I called and Carl came out the next day to provide an estimate and help customize a system to meet my needs. In fact, I was looking at a different electronic air cleaner and am very pleased with the one Carl recommended. I scheduled the work the same day I received the estimate and they came out 2 days later, which, was when I was available. The installer was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained how the system would work and how he was going to install it. Overall, a very good experience and I ended up signing up for their regular furnace/AC maintenance plan based on my positive experience with the company.

From the time of the estimate until the job was done, I was really pleased with Unique! They took the time to measure and note the location of all the windows in the house so that they knew exactly what size unit was required, as well as how many outlets would be needed in each room. The process of putting jet-tubing duct work through the attic, walls and closets could have turned our house into a construction site, but instead, it was all very organized and with a minimum of disruption. Seven days later, they were done, and we are happy and comfortably cool! Their price was slightly higher than the other estimates I got, but the overall quality of the work made it worthwhile.

They came on time and did the job neat and clean. One of the best I have ever dealt with. If I would have had them available to me when I was in the systems environment area, I would have used them exclusively. They will be coming in the fall to install a new furnace.

Friday, June 6, 2008, was the second time we tried to use Unique Indoor Comfort for maintenance on our air conditioner. Both times we called we were told that they would have to return our call. Neither time did they return the call. The most recent time we called at 8:00am. When we called them back at 10:00am we were told that they couldn't help us 'til Tuesday, June 10th. We will not consider them again.

Our experience with Unique was excellent from start to finish. They were courteous and professional, came on time, and completed the installation in one week as they said they would. During the work they kept our house neat and clean. Now that the summer is approaching, we have used our air conditioning for the first time this summer, and it is great! A big improvement over the window units we used previously.

I have been using Unique Indoor Comfort's services for several years now. I am very happy with this company. I will keep on using them for the convenience, reliability, professionalism and because they do a good job. They are always on time.

I have a maintenance contract (gold level) with Unique for heating and A/C. I called to report a problem with my A/C. It took a few minutes for the representative to verify benefits for gold level. Once verified, she scheduled a repairman who was at my home within about two hours from the time I called. The repairman identified the problem, replaced a part, and the A/C has been working fine.

I have been very impressed with them through the years. They are so knowledgeable and hard working. Everything is thoroughly checked over and they are honest about any things that need to be fixed. I think they are great and would recommend that other people try them out.

Their technicians do a good job of maintaining the system they installed. They also seem to be very well trained, even the young ones. They can answer all of my questions and know what to do. I never have to call back.

Excellent work from start to finish. Everything as promised. The system works great!

Greg, the salesman, explained all work in detail and took measurements. Rob installed the boiler, and Steve made sure all was correctly installed and working properly. Mark and Dave installed the air conditioning system. They always arrived on time, worked efficiently, and answered all questions. They covered necessary furniture and cleaned up, including vacuuming each day as they wrapped up the job. The job was completed in a timely manner. All systems were explained. It was an excellent experience.

Overall experience was terrific! The technician was on time, very courteous, wore shoe covers when entering my home, and cleaned up when he was through. He answered all of my questions. Definitely a top-rate company! Very satisfied.
