Never returned my call!

Very well. This is the second time I've used Fred, and for this job he was very prompt, and his price was more than fair. I look forward to using him again in the future.

The one complaint I have is that I dropped the pieces off in December, and did not receive them until over three MONTHS later, despite several calls to Fred. He has many projects going on at once. He was very friendly, and knew a great deal about the construction of the chairs, type of wood used, etc. Still, he had indicated to me that the repairs would be done in a much shorter time span. The price was very reasonable, though, for the work that he did. I finally called and said that I was coming in to pick the chairs up no matter what, and he told my wife (when he called back) that they were ready. Still, when I got there he told me he had some "finishing touches" to do on the bottom of the seat on one chair, and he did this as I waited. Three months he had the chairs, but waited until the morning I arrived to finish up! That last part was done hastily, but the repairs themselves were good. Fred is good at what he does, but could perhaps work on telling customers a more accurate ETA for their completed pieces. At the end of the day, though, the chairs were fixed, and I am, overall, satisfied with the work.

I took a small item in myself to see the shop and verify the workmanship. The address Angie's has is wrong, but Fred's web site had the correct address on Harvard in Villa Park. As the repair was to my liking, and the shop also, I went ahead with the rest. Fred came to look at the damaged wardrobe - one drawer had completely come apart from being soaked - and was confident that it was entirely repairable. The work took several weeks. When he was bringing everything back, Fred observed a flaw in the work on one chair and took it back to the shop. I checked "B" for punctuality above because it then took several weeks and phone calls to arrange for the delivery again; however, there was no urgency in our arrangements - I was just afraid of losing track of the single chair. The workmanship is beautiful.

Fred's did a wonderful job on the split seat and went over and above our expectation when they tightened up the other loose pieces. They were very professional and personable. The price was very reasonable.

We inheriated a small girl's desk, chair and shelf and wanted it painted to match our daughters' room. We called Fred and he refinished the peices and fixed the wabble chair. This place is definately great if you have a special peice that you don't want to trust just anyone to work on. Friendly prompt service. I will only use them in the future for upkeep and repair of our furniture.

I expected the job to just be OK and for it to take at least 6 weeks to 2 months. Instead Fred finished them in a week's time. He did an amazing job, you need to almost use a magnifying glass to see which chairs had their arms cut off, plugged and stained to match. And he was very affordable as well as prompt, the chairs were completed in a week's time. His shop is full of refinished antiques, and his restoration work on them looks wonderful.
