TruGreen Lawn Care - 5550

They do six applications per year and then the aeration. I call them back because of the weeds, I call them back three or four extra times, and they don't charge me. They come when they come and they do a fine job. They are better than another company.

Whatever they do, they do a very good job of it because I have a beautiful lawn. The price is a good price. I have no complaints.

I have a contract with them. They fertilize our lawn and write a note on the bill if there are any issues. They call the day before they are going to come.

I like them since they call me when they are on their way. They always call me ahead of time to let me know that they are coming and my grass is pretty neat in the summer.

They have been prompt, called the day before they come, leave a notice and a flag on the lawn when they are through. Telephone contact has been polite and helpful. Our lawn was in pretty bad shape, so I can't comment on the results until we see progress, hopefully by late spring/early summer.

I guess they guarantee that you have a better lawn improvement so we had been doing the lawn fertilization ourselves previous years and now we decided to use them and it seem to help. We are still trying to figure out whether or not we will do it next year again or something that we need to keep doing or not. There wasn't anything like I guess when we originally signed up with me they were very nice about we are going to take care of everything, make sure everything is satisfactory and stuff like that. They came every time they said they were going to. We probably will try it one more time I guess.

My front yard and the parkway were in disaster mode when Trugreen called. By the end of the first summer, the parkway was covered with grass instead of mud and the main lawn was green and thick. Things have continually improved since then even as we have had to remove two trees and get grass to cover the those spots. My backyard was even more of a problem. Half of the yard is very shady where only the occasional weed or strand of grass would sprout. The other half was weed choked with lots of thistle-like growths. It took about two growing seasons, but the weeds are all gone and replaced with grass. The only problem is that shady area. Still nearly nothing grows there. When I asked for suggestions, the Trugreen advisor said to check with the service person. When I asked the service person, he had no answer at all.

They have been in the business for a while and they have a reputable name. I use them on a regular basis, they actually come out like eight times a year and they charge $140 every time they come out, they are helpful. and they give you a confirmation call when they are coming.

Well, the local ownership must have changed or they have a different group of technicians who are applying the chemicals this year as my results have been far less than good this year. This year, my wife and I decided to pull the trigger to have a "professional" address our crabgrass and weed problem in our yard. We had tried all sorts of residential fertilizers including Scotts, Weed B Gon etc, no luck. Pesky weeds.... Having had ok luck with Trugreen in the past, we contacted them again to come out and evaluate our situation with the specific request to rid our yard of the two main type of weeds we were having problems with. I was assured that with their treatments that the weeds would be gone in no time. Ok, plop down about $400 and hope for the best. Well after a few applications I did notice that our yard was greener, but so too were the weeds!! I called Trugreen up and had them come out to evaluate. I was not home to hear what they had to say, but my wife was told that the reason the weeds were not dying was that the technician who treats our lawn did not know he was to spray with a "special" chemical to get rid of our weeds. Really? Trugreen did agree to do two additional treatments to fix the problem, but perhaps the technician was upset that he was told to do the job again, but the next time they came out, their truck left a nice deep rut in the mulch adjacent to our circular driveway. Thanks buddy. So after one treatment, absolutely no difference. Here is the really annoying part. Despite our problem we have been having, Trugreen calls us at least a couple of times daily! I know because I check caller ID when I get home from work. I was able to speak with them a few days ago and instead of being asked how the extra treatments were helping and following up with their work, the called proceeds to try to sell me more services! Again, really? I frankly told them that perhaps they should do what we initial contracted to be done before trying to sell us more services I am hopeful that the extra treatments will work, but have a hard time recommending them to any one in my region. I will follow up this review in a few weeks to keep things current. I hope this review helps someone!

Just last week I was able to speak with them and instead of being asked how the extra treatment were helping and following up with their work, the caller proceeds to try to sell me more services! Again, really? I frankly told them that perhaps they should do what we initial contracted to be done before trying to sell us more services. The caller then took on a less than professional tone saying that they "told" us they would do more treatments and that they had gone over all this stuff with us in the past... thanks again. This is not the way to be courteous and gain the confidence of your clients. I am hopeful that the extra treatments will work, but have a hard time recommending them to any one in my region. I've been with them since they were Chemlawn, maybe 20+ years now. Tree service is very good; I've had the same tech/arborist for almost the entire time so he knows my trees. If I catch him or leave a note, he's willing to answer questions about tree health. Unfortunately they stopped doing small tree and shrub pruning; most tree services don't do it and lawn crews just take a trimmer and lop off the top - very few know how to prune and shape properly. I miss that service. Just started up the lawn service to repair grass damaged by 2012 drought. Lawn showed visible improvement within 3 weeks and it's been great ever since. They did tell me I would get a discount on the first service if I signed up for auto pay, which I did (but they didn't). I've not had time to protest. They are flexible about moving dates if I know weather will be an issue but you need to catch them as soon as they leave a message or email...which sometimes they ignore. For example they did the lawn and grub service within 24 hours of one of those 2" downpours. With the run off from soil that is already drenched, I can't believe a good amount of liquid application was washed off in these conditions. But they will come out no issue to re do . I have a small yard (<1500 sq ft of grass), my tree service is $66 8x a year and the lawn is around $45 6x plus additional for grub and core aeration that is part of the package I took. Not cheap, but considering how many times I put seed, lawn soil and dethatched to try to repair the lawn myself, it is worth it. On the whole, as expensive as it is, it has made a difference in my lawn and trees, and would recommend them.

It went very well. Very thorough job.

they seem to be efficient and effective. we have a lot of trees and shade so the lawn is not perfect, but Trugreen does a much better job than our previous company. They call and try to have you do aeration and other upgrades. These calls can be annoying. I had them aerate last fall and really note no difference in the lawn. We had a severe winter and perhaps that limited the effect of the aeration.

It goes very well. Have had Tru Green for the past 13 yrs. Will re-do the spraying if you are not totally satisfied. They return within 1 or 2 days.

TruGreen has been my lawn care for several years now, and I am quite satisfied with their service. No service is perfect, and there have been a couple "glitches" along the way; but these have been ironed out and/or compensated for, with virtually no hassle. I do not anticipate changing lawn care services anytime soon.

Ive used Trugreen for 7 years and they have done an awesome job of keeping my lawn looking healthy and green. My lawn looks better than the neighbors and were always getting compliments on how green it is. Thank you Trugreen!

My lawn looks prety good, no dantelions ( I hate them), if there is a problem you can call them up and they will try to solve it for you. They leave a sign in the lawn and paperwork in your door, so you know they have been there. We are satisfied with their service.

The service was excellent and my lawn is greener and healthier than ever.. They succeeded in ridding my grass of unwanted crab grass and weeds.

They call before coming out and then on the day driver rings the door bell to tell us he is going to apply a specific fertilizer. He then applies it and leaves.

An ongoing experience. They service my trees & bushes for growth & disease prevention. I am extremely pleased with the service & personnel.

They are a good company. We have used them in the past in different states. We’ve never had a problem.

Not much to say, they spread fertilizer and weed control chemicals. Grass is growing great and no weeds. They have also offered helpful advice on some problem areas in the lawn.
