Description of Work: I think they are a dependable service provider but, they are always 3x higher than anyone else. Just to put in a gas line was way over priced. They have been in business a long time but, they really need to review their pricing. Would,use except for that. It's always cost prohibitive.

I was surprised to read in your email that we're 'always 3x higher than everyone else', so did some research into what we did for you to see if we mis-priced our job. We're a premium service provider and our customer use us because they trust us, we stand behind the quality of our work, only provide our customers highly trained, licensed and certified technicians, and look to provide a wonderful service experience each time a customer calls us. Your review stated you used us on May 18, 2015 so out of concern I reviewed your history. Our system shows we've been to your home two times, and the last time we worked in your home was in 2003. You called us out due to your furnace not working. We did provide a quote for a gas line in 2013. We consider our competition to be comparably sized firms who are able to provide the level of expertise, professionalism and customer care we strive to deliver. I not sure who you were comparing us to, however if we were 3x the price of a comparable competitor, all I can assume is something was off on the scope between the proposals. Again, on the quality of our work here at Mendel, I read this note from our technician on the work order we left behind for you in 2003 about your furnace. I'm copying it here from our system: FOUND FURNACE HAD BEEN SERVICED THE DAY BEFORE BY ANOTHER COMPANY. FOUND 3 WIRE PILOT ASSEMBLY DEFECTIVE, REPLACED. HAD TO RE-ADJUST GAS PRESSURE AND CHECK OVER ENTIRE UNIT. REPLACED MISSING SCREWS AND TIGHTENED OTHERS. CYCLED AND CHECKED WHILE CUSTOMER OBSERVED. REPAIRED GAS LINE FOR PILOT BURNER As you can see, another HVAC company serviced your furnace the day before we arrived in 2003. There were numerous things not done or not done correctly that we repaired during our visit to your home. Unfortunately, we regularly see the results of providers in our industry that don't take the time to properly do the work they're hired for, as shown by the company that serviced your furnace the day prior to us. They can appear less expensive than us at the onset, but we believe the least expensive work is when it is done right the first time. I hope we get the opportunity to service you again in the future so we can again show you the Mendel difference in service. Thanks, Tom Mascari, President

Description of Work: Our furnace quit on a Sunday, the blower would not come on. Came out Monday. Diagnosed my furnace, found the main board was damaged and replaced it. Work fine now.

Description of Work: I have been a regular client of Mendel for at least 15 years! They always do excellent work regarding electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.! They replaced sink drains in kitchen & master bath. They also had to put an access panel in basement ceiling in order for us to access cable wires.

Description of Work: Mendel is the service I always use. Last time I called them was 11/14/14. It was an emergency after hours weekend call. My sump pump in the ejector pit won't shut off. They supplied the part and installed a new ST1033 sump pump. I did pay an after hour fee, but it was worth it.

Description of Work: put in a hot water heater in an emergency. Did fine. Had major problems with them in the past though. Leaky water sofener.......guy came out fixes it charged $250.......week later wet carpet again....different guy comes out charges again to refix the fix (can't remember the amount)... week later wet carpet again....new guy comes out says the unit is shot and can't be fixed. He turned it off. I asked him what about the last two guys charging me.....and he gave me the name of his boss and didnt charge me. Called and complained to the boss and ended up getting a credit to tear it out and not replace it. Expensive lesson.

Description of Work: They Installed an April Air humidifier on our existing furnace. It was many years ago - like 1996-97. Mendel has a reputation for being at the higher end cost-wise, but they seem to have a good reputation and they are a locally owned business.

Description of Work: This is hard for me to complete as I haven't called Mendel in about 5 years. |When I did have them, it was to address several issues in a home that we had just moved in to. The price quotes were very expensive and I did not feel the men who came out were respectful at all. I did not call them back. I ended up having a different company and for 1/2 the price for the same product and polite workers, we had a good experience. We had two new hot water heaters put in.

Description of Work: They remodeled our shower stall so my handicapped husband would be able to use it. It turned out great and they were VERY neat and considerate of our home. The prices were not the cheapest but I felt "you get what you pay for" and we were very happy with their services.
