Description of Work: A sewer repair resulted in my front concrete porch being torn up. After the plumbing repair, I got three quotes to replace the concrete (7.5' x 25' pad). K&M was one of the higher quotes but I was most comfortable with the details K&M provided in the quote. I wanted high quality concrete material and handling to best avoid cracking and winter spalling. K&M provided 4500 psi fiber reinforced concrete with a water reducer additive for greater ultimate strength. Since the job was done late summer, the temperatures were ideal (50-70 degrees) for maximum curing strength. | |The job was a bit more complex since the porch is surrounded by a brick knee wall and had to be tied into the house foundation with rebar drilled into the house foundation. | |The job was completed promptly with excellent workmanship evident in the surface finishing. The job site was kept clean of all debris during the work and flower beds directly adjacent to the pad were undisturbed. | | K&M applied a surface sealer the next morning to reduce water evaporation and I supplemented this by covering the concrete with plastic and keeping it wet to insure the concrete had optimal hydration for the critical first two weeks of curing. | |The finished product looks great and I would use K&M again.
