Description of Work: Ask them to install a whole house surge protector that I purchased. They arrived when they said they would and charged the estimate that was given for the job.

Description of Work: Tom had done work previously for a family friend and they referred him to us. We had just purchased a home without any real insulation in the attic, and we needed to lay all new insulation, but the knob and tube wiring was original to the house and was cracked and exposed in several places, making it a serious fire hazard. So, we needed the house rewired, but didn't think we could afford it. When we called Tom, we asked for an estimate for just the attic, which he gave us. He also recommended we get the entire house redone, and he gave us a separate estimate for that job. Both were relatively inexpensive. We expected an estimate around $5k for the whole house, and Tom quoted us $3600. We gave him the job. His people were incredibly friendly and professional. They went straight to work and finished the job in a day and a half, even adding extra electrical sockets where we needed them. When Tom came back to us with a price, we were surprised to find that it was nowhere near his estimate: $2100. We were amazed, since that was less than half what we were expecting to spend on the job. His reason was that he was expecting to need a third day to finish, but his people worked so fast that they were able to get to their next job the next day. Fine with me, the work was perfect and the price was even better. They were a pleasure to work with every step along the process, and I'd definitely recommend them to others.
