Sutton's

This has been a long process. I received a bid in the fall of last year. Sutton's price was better than competitors so I signed the paperwork. I was told they were booked through the fall so they would not be able to replace my roof until the Spring. I was fine with that. As promised, I received an email from Bruce (salesman) on March 29th stating the guys would be here the next morning to start the work. A little more notice would have been nice but I was able to make arrangements as I knew my driveway would be blocked by a dumpster. The guys showed up about 30 minutes late but this was not an all day job. Chris (job supervisor) knocked on my door to let me know they were there and getting started. The walls of my house are thin and I can usually hear what's going on right outside. The Sutton team was all business. They got started right away and completed my job in under 8 hours. I am no expert but what I saw of them they were being safe and professional. The only thing I heard that bothered me was one of the guys saying "that's not my fault" after the work seem to be mostly completed. However, after that was said, I heard another 45 mins to an hour of work being performed. I believe this was Chris "fixing" whatever was not that man's "fault". Overall I am happy with the job they performed. A couple of shingles look as though they were placed out of order but I'd rather have this than a mistake. I would definitely recommend them to others and will use them again in the future.

After several weeks of non-stop rain, the workers began and worked as much as possible each day - weather permitting. The job was finished and looks great!

The Sutton team was very professional and did quality work.

We had an issue with water upstairs coming through the ceiling downstairs. The job took about three days. Sutton came out to open up everything that needed to be accessed by the plumbers. That was then when they located a slight leak. Since they already had everything opened up, we had them replace the piping and drains for both upstairs bathrooms. They had plumbers come in to install new plumbing and finished in one full day. On the next day that is when Sutton came in to repair the ceilings and drywall. They came back to paint on the final day. They did a good job with all the work. Our ceiling is textured and runs the entire first floor of the house. They had to match the texturing on the ceiling and kitchen and painted as well. The men who worked on the texturing did a great job. They cleaned up well after all of the work was complete. It was a good experience and I would contact them again if needed.

They completed the work in three days and cleaned up well. They are more costly than other companies. However, they provide the best comprehensive service. They are very efficient and friendly. Everything turned out very well. I have recommended them to friends.

The windows were custom ordered. They completed the work as scheduled. They did a great job with the work. They were very neat and left no mess behind. Everything turned out very good.

It was $10,000 more than the one that we used. He was a nice enough guy when he came out. He said that it was really important for us to make up our minds as soon as possible because the raw material costs were going up. He said that he had to tell a woman the week before that he could only honor the bid for a week so he was putting a little subtle pressure on us. I don't like to be pushed into things like that because it makes me nervous. He was honest but he was too high. He came out when I asked him to.

From the first meeting with a sales rep to the final inspection of the job we could not have been more satisfied. An excellent RW company!!

Bits of dry wall mud painted over on walls. Wall is wavy, not straight. Woodwork under vanity has poor fit. Wall paint on ceiling. Wall trim mitered corner has poor fit. Did not inspect items until ready to install. Incorrect custom tub had to be reordered because it was incorrect. Then, the correct surround was cut improperly and had to be reordered, yet again. Did not inspect tub after installation and we had to point out that water would run from the flat edge of the side of the tub onto the floor. It was determined the tub was defective and needed to be replaced. When the 2nd tub arrived, Suttons did not inspect. When they brought it to our house and opened the packing, they discovered it was broken. A 3rd had to be ordered. Now, we see small cracks inside that 3rd tub. Adhesive or caulking on edge of tub next to surround. The tub faucet inner parts have been replaced at least twice. Did not order back splash or toe kick for new vanity; so, we had wait on those. They threw away packaging and warranty material of installed items. We do not know how to fix or correct failing pieces. They should have left warranty, instructions, parts lists, and receipts with us. They did some things right. The rounded edges of the wall at the head of the tub looks very nice. The over all look is nice -- until you notice the details described above.

It went pretty well. We were told it would be done in one day but it took two. I really didn't expect it to be done that quickly, so it really wasn't a problem. The roof looks amazing though and the guys cleaned up the yard very nicely. There was an incident with the air compressor where it started spouting oil onto our patio but it was found by one of the roofers and the foreman cleaned it up himself and now you can't even tell there was any oil at all on it. Good job all around!

Workers showed up on time and immediately went to work. As we have a very large roof, there were additional crews on several days. All workers were very polite and cleaned up after each day's work. The roof looks great. Although they were not the cheapest bid, we are very pleased we went with Sutton's and feel we got a quality job.

Professional, clean and punctual.

They have a very good reputation. Their contact man was friendly and professional. There was a mix-up and we had to wait for one of the storm doors. They said that they had samples and when we got there, it was black and white photos. That did not work out well because, we ordered the wrong door. The salesman contacted the manufacturer and we got the doors that we needed. They have worked out well so far. They were expensive.

They were incredible. They were clean, thorough, on time and I literally had to do nothing. They were very professional and did an outstanding job. Our roofs never looked this good!

I can go and on about how great Suttons is (and often do!). Jim has always been my repairman and I can't imagine anyone better. He's thorough, friendly and offers helpful solutions for things I can tweak myself. If a project is "unfixable" (i.e., I have to order a new part), he'll tell me right off the bat rather than run up unneeded service hours. Some rates Suttons "B" for price but you're paying for the best. I've always found their prices to be reasonable and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. My condo association recommended Suttons to me ... and I recommend Suttons to everyone else

They were very tidy. I was suprised how well they cleaned up after themselves. They also did a fantastic job on the roofing project. I was so impressed, I told several people and my brother ended up using them to do some work at his house. The only thing that I wasn't really excited about was that they subcontracted out the drywall. They were really busy and didn't have anyone that could do it. The guy they got was really nice and he did a good job, he just didn't clean up as well as I thought he should of. He also left a drinking cup, a baseball cap and a hard hat. I tried to get it back to him but it never happened. Also, I thought that Sutton would come inspect his work after he got done. I just figured they would so was holding off on painting. I called them and asked and they said that as long as I was happy I could proceed with the painting. I just thought that was a little odd since I had hired them and not him. But the work that was done was fantaastic. Chris was the forman and he was excellent!!

We are thrilled with the quality of windows by Sunrise manufacture's as well as the installation process. Sutton's employees are professional, punctual, and they are very good about cleaning up! We will definitely use their services in the future and we highly recommend this company!

Excellent work. Quick. Always online. Professional. More expensive than some other companies but worth it.

The guy was polite and the everything was fine. It was just that we did not want to spend that much money. We thought that it was a little overpriced. But the guy was pleasant and easy to talk to. Everything with regards to that was fine.

Very well. Price lower than other estimate received from Smith here in Springfield that is on your list. Smith very very good in being punctual with estimate but they were more expensive. Sutton has been in business for many many years in Springfield.

Job well done...very professional

The flocked ceiling had many issues - water damage - a hole cut near the flue for a wood burning stove and cracks due to structural changes. They repaired three rooms - one small bath room that had peeled above the bathtub, one 12' X 20' kitchen that had water damage in two places due to upstairs toilets overflowing and one 20' X 30' cathedral ceiling that had water damage and a hole near the flue for a wood burning stove and cracks and nail pops. Though there was some discussion on whether to patch or to redo the entire area, all was done neatly and is holding up three years later. Their original design for a fake beam did not meet our expectations. (My husband & I are engineers). So we designed what we wanted and they were able to create it and stain it to match our woodwork. The cedar eaves were damaged by pesky squirrels and they stained and installed new boards where they were needed.

I've always heard good things about Sutton - just and have used them for exterior work at a previous location - but this was ridiculously high for the work - ended up doing it myself.

We elected to not use suttons on the basis of price alone.
