THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, EXPLAINED HOW THE ELECTRIC WOULD BE DONE, AND JOB WELL DONE... FANS WORK GOOD!!!!

The worker came and did all three jobs in the above order. As he finished one jobe he moved to the next one and was able to complete everything in 1 hour.

Don responded immediately to our call and quickly set a date to come out to do the work. He is very pleasant and quite helpful. Don worked together with another licensed electrician to increase the electrical amperage in the kitchen and in the laundry room. His work quality reflects his high standards. Don has previously completed work for us, and we are grateful to have such a professional electrician that we can call and help us complete projects in our home.

He is not a people person. He is unprofessional and does not have the ability to listen. He told me that the "customer is always right" view does not work anymore. If the customer is not right why is he doing business? I asked for a cost and he was very rude about answering me.He would not offer a free estimate. He wanted me to apologize to him. UPDATED ON 04/18/2012: This is an addendum to a prior review because it does not tell the full story. I called this contractor to inquire about electrical work. Don Paul Hutson answered and the problem was explained to him. He starts giving his rates. I asked did he give free estimates. He said he would need a crystal ball to do that and hung up! I was left speechless, but after regaining my voice, I called him back and let him know I would be writing a review on Angie's List and it wouldn't be good. He said fine. Two minutes later he called back and said why is it that customers can be rude but he can't. I was not rude. All I asked was if he gave free estimates. What I got in return was this mess about him not having a crystal ball. I don't expect him to have a crystal ball...a simple 'no' would have been sufficient. This vendor is very rude and thinks he is always right. Of course, I don't know about electrical matters or else I wouldn't have called him. If you are the type of person who appreciates and expects sarcasm from a contractor that you're interested in hiring, then this company is for you! Fortunately, I telephoned another contractor on Angie's List and he did an excellent job.

My experience was excellent. I have nothing bad to say. Everything is working exactly how Don said it would. He's following up on the job and making sure inspector is coming out to check his work. I can't say enough good things about Don and his crew.

My kitchen flourescent lighting went out and my husband had a problem with the electrical work. Don tried to schedule an electrician for the next day and was able to fit us in but the time frame couldn't be definite. We chose to wait for the following day when we could be scheduled as the first appointment. Don came himself that next day and quickly replaced the ballast. My husband and I are very pleased with the professionalism and skill of this company.

Don the owner picked up all 3 times I called. I was a bit surprised that he did not have his work schedule calendar with him, so I had to call one more time after he returned home from work. The electrician, Jim (Tim?) was a bit late (10 minutes) for the appointment, but other than that he was totally professional and efficient. The work took aboout what I expected (less than 3 hours) even thoughone outlet required a small investigation. When he asked about removing the old fans, I told him I would take care of them. He cleaned up all the small pieces from his work and left the area clean. Thanks for the great job Jim! This is an addendum to my original report on 11/21/2011. Don the owner called me this morning. He said that my report ... "made me (him) look like an idiot". I told him that was not my intention. I couldn't really understand what made him say that as I did not remember what my report said exactly until I came back online to review it. Now I understand what he meant, but if you don't have your work schedule with you, I AM surprised. He also said that he could not make any comments on his behalf. I said I was sorry about that, but now that I look, there IS a comment area on one of his prior reports. It may be that it was an F overall, or perhaps the application has changed, I'm not sure. Then he started talking to me about how I never got back to him when I said I would, and of course nothing in the report talked about our miscommunications. He said he had saved some time for Thursday and Friday to do my work but I didn't call him back. I told him that he had said he was going to call me back on Wednesday, but he said he didn't have my phone number. Well, my number IS on the request for the quote or how would he have been able to call me the first time. I then said that I was sure he had caller-id and his reply was "So that's the way you're going to be." I WAS supposed to call him back if he did not call me on Wednesday to schedule the work. Well, he didn't call, and as it wasn't an emergency, I forgot about it too. In any case, this was never a real issue for me and I did not say anything about it in the report, and I just felt he was trying to blame his B for "Responsiveness" on me. His next statement was this: "Here, I'll make you a deal. The next time you need electrical work, don't call me". I said fine, I wouldn't. All in all a bad attitude. Again, the work done by his electrician was excellent, but after today's call I have to change my "Would you hire again" from yes to NO. Now that I gave him a D, maybe he can comment and provide his side of the story.

They were nice and friendly and on time.

Showed up on time. Resolved both issues in a reasonable amount of time.

Calling Don was like calling my dad to come over and help us with our electrical issues. We were interested in using Electrical Services R. E., Inc, since they specialize in old homes. Don answered the phone immediately when we called and scheduled a time to come over. He arrived promptly, went over all of the issues of the house with us, and had a permit for the work to be done by that afternoon. The work was completed the following week, everything is now up to code, and we have passed our electrical inspection completed by the City of Chicago. We would highly recommend Don and Electrical Services R. E., Inc to anyone looking for a highly qualified and dependable electrician.

I was extremely pleased with the service provided. They showed up on time, were courteous and professional, and did the work as requested to the letter. When a problem was found in my service meter, Don pointed it out as an issue rather than cover it up. He then spent the afternoon in the pouring rain to fix it properly. I'm thrilled with the results and would definitely recommend them.

He was wonderful to work with. When we would call him with questions He would answer the phone right away or got back to us within a few hours when we left a message. We decided to go with Don because of 2 things, His experience with old homes and his price. First of all I had gotten 2 other estimates and both of them involved some wall demolition to get the lights installed in the living-room. We have plaster walls so that was not an option. At that time we were considering track lighting. Because Don was able to get the lights installed without destroying our walls I believe his quote came in lower because he did not have the extra cost of fixing the walls. He was able to install the cans wiring through a small 2" hole in one wall. Don was very helpful in our lighting choices. We were originally going to get track lighting installed. He suggested the can lighting and we are glad he did. He installed the 6 in the living-room and the 4 in the bedroom with separate dimmers. We divided each room in half and had a dimmer controlling each zone separately. We love it! We can turn off half of the room that has the TV and have the other half dimmed low so we can see our popcorn and beverages. The 2 cans in the kitchen and the 3 lights in the attic are very nice also but we LOVE our dimmers. I almost forgot about our cool sconce. My wife found a cool sconce from Lowes for 17 bucks and he had it installed in our stairwell in a snap. I found it amazing how easy he was able get wires into these odd places. When work was being done in the attic they came across some scary do-it your self wiring from about 50 years ago that was a potential hazard, He fixed it for a minimal additional charge. Knowing it's now correct is priceless. He had a crew of 2 other experienced workers (Tim and Pete) and they had all of the work done in 3 days. The best thing is that when you call, you get the owner. Not an automated system or a secretary you get Don. I think that is great! We will be using them in the future for sure! Even for our small stuff, We plan on getting a new range hood and dishwasher soon and I will not hesitate to make another appointment to get them installed.

I just called this guy and when he answered the phone he was as pleasant as could be. I told him I had gotten his name from Angie's List and he seemed delighted , although I did think I detected a slight hint of sarcasm. I explained that I had a circuit out and no power to parts of my home and gave him my location. Just as if someone had flipped an electrical switch, his tone changed and he matter of factly told me his contractors were booked solid through next week. If I wanted to wait that long, he could get to me NEXT THURSDAY. He added that he could perhaps get someone to work overtime but most people would not want to pay the overtime--he did not offer to tell me how much his overtime rate was. I did not ask as I was a left a little speechless by his tone and callousness, but hoped he might at least offer a referrel--none was forthcoming. He concluded with, "sorry I don't have time for you Ma'am. Period. Call over. I live in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago, to add some perspective to all this. Suffice it to say, I've got nothing good to say about this company

Don responded within minutes of my e-mail request for an estimate. A date and time was scheduled for the work. The men arrived on time and performed an outstanding job. They were very courteous and respectful.

My house in Midlothian was built in 1954, Don and his crew are experienced working through the challenges that older homes present. Don is service orientated, communication from start to finish was flawless. When the house was inspected by the village, the inspector expressed that the cost and the workmanship was outstanding.

I have used their service on a few occasions. They have always been very professional, punctual and do a very good work. They also clean up after themselves.

Don was extremely professional, arrived on time, executed the proposal, and cleaned up after the job was done. His pricing was by far the most competitive I received after soliciting three (3) other quotes. He followed-up with me the night the job was performed to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the service provided. I was completely in awe of the world class service Don provided. I would use this guy over and over again. He is truly a professional!

He was prompt, dependable and showed up on time. He was professional and his pricing was good. There were some minor issues and he came back right away and fixed it. I was satisfied with his service.

Whenever you hire someone based on a name in a directory you take a chance. That's what we did when we hired Electrical Services Residential Electrician, Inc to do several electrical jobs in our home. Thankfully, we made an excellent choice because we are extremely pleased with the quality of work that electricians Don (owner), Frank, and Tim performed. They all provided excellent customer service and were very professional. Electricial Services installed a new auxiliary fuse panel, new ceiling light fixture, two dedicated circuits and a new AC outlet. Each of these jobs were completed to our satisfaction. Don, Frank, and Tim willingly explained the work that they were performing and answered all of our questions in detail. We highly recommend Electrical Services.

The Building Department of the village I live in informed me that I had to make some repairs to my home's electrical system to meet code requirements. I could not be happier with the work done by Electrical Services. I didn't have unlimited funds for the project, and this company made an obvious effort to stay within my budget. I definitely feel that I received an excellent value for the money I spent. The other item that stands out about this company is its responsiveness. Every time I called the phone number for this company, I got to speak with the owner: Don Hutson. Please understand, I did not have to ask for his direct number, it is just the phone number the company uses for all calls. That fact was a huge plus for me. I am a self-admitted micro-manager and worrier :-). Being able to speak to the owner of the company directly about all of the details of the project put my mind at ease. Only once when I called did I get voicemail, and my message was returned, again by the owner, within ten minutes.
