Description of Work: Installed base and door trim, sanded floors.

Description of Work: We purchased a Big Deal for $199 for an Experienced Carpenter for a Day. We have used them a couple times previously for smaller projects as well.

Description of Work: Using an Angie's List Big Deal for Carpentry service, I used Splash to frame up an exterior wall where all the cable connections were stored. I didn't want drywall to overlay this area without some type of permanent access. These guys did a great job framing it in and providing a small access door.

Description of Work: Two men came promptly and disassembled a wall of built-in cabinetry within 4 hours, saving the portions that I designated for re-use. They were couteous and highly skilled. They volunteered and took away all of the scrap (something that I had not anticipated). I would definitely hire them again for more skilled, finish carpentry work.

Description of Work: Matthew, Adrian and Josef were right on time to replace carpet with hardwood flooring. When the carpet was removed, they discovered the sub floor was made from durock. They laid a new sub floor and the installation went smoothly. Thanks again Splash Carpentry, M&N Flooring and Angie's List!

Description of Work: I bought the deal for carpenter for a day and asked them to build a tree fort in our yard for our son. Something that I knew they could do, but didn't do as a regular service.

Description of Work: They helped fixing around the house: closet doors, cabinet drawers and dressers, deck rails. They also helped us installing smoke detectors.

Description of Work: Replaced rotten front porch stairs.

Description of Work: Adrian stained and installed 3 newel posts, building one on site, and 2 new rails. He installed about 55 iron balusters, painted the stair risers, and stringer.

Description of Work: Splash Carpentry changed my carpeted staircase to wood and installed wood floor for my 350 square foot room. Adrian and his team were very professional. Price is reasonable and quality is excellent.

Description of Work: They picked up at Home Depot and installed 2 new doors. They also installed a cover over an opening to a crawl space, planed a door so it would close and fixed a closet so that it had a hanging rod for clothes.

Description of Work: I contracted with ' Splash Carpentry' in 2009 and had the pleasure of dealing with Adrian Andercau - he is a hard working honest individual who works over and beyond what the customer expects and delivers it all - on-time with a smile on his face. I am a interior designer by profession and purchased a condo unit in downtown Chicago, it was a very modern urban development and I wanted to maximize the space and use within this 1002 sq ft shell. The unit is corner situated and has floor to ceiling windows and a concrete unfinished ceiling. I wanted bespoke customized furniture installed within the unit and needed somebody who was able to unravel my design drawings and assist myself with my design intent. Adrian met with me in the space and we discussed the best use of wood and construction technique's for the tasks I had envisioned. In total the Splash Carpentry team built from my design drawings: a murphy bed in the rear of the office/2nd bedroom space a built in bed in master bedroom, with associated lined wood side partitions, two bedside floating tables, a drop ceiling dry-wall to hid the lighting etc a closet in master bedroom with various height shelving a corner unit and shelving for use as a computer desk area a stand alone table to fit in a window space between tow concrete columns in the main living area a long sideboard to run the length of the entrance hallway The majority of the items identified above were all built (on site) in English Oak - this I wanted as the furniture color throughout the condo to maintain the design intent. Description of Work: The service that was performed by Splash Carpentry was the installation of a 9 foot pantry cabinet. The cabinet was measured and manufactured by another company not affiliated with Splash Carpentry.

Description of Work: Staircase was remodeled. The existing staircase was hidden behind a partition wall. A portion of the wall was removed from the first floor and new bannisters and posts were installed in its place. Existing bannister and post was removed and replaced on the second floor. Existing stairs were re-inforced and new treads and risers installed over the top.

Description of Work: I paid $199 to 8 hours of carpentry work. The guy came out (on time) and assessed a VERY SMALL job of putting a shelf above my t.v. and two sides on both sides of my t.v. He insisted on a drywall job to make it "look better". The drywall guy came and said it would be an additional $700. Wow. How long does it take to put up 3 pieces of wood.

Description of Work: 1) Replace water-damaged molding around a sliding glass door, 2) Replace water-damaged areas of wood flooring in the master bedroom with subsequent re-finishing and re-sealing of the floor,3) Re-grout portions of the master bedroom shower stall.

Description of Work: The carpenter made some custom pieces for my unit, hung shelves, and worked on problem drawers and doors.

Description of Work: Converted an on-the-wall entertainment center to fit a new 55" tv. They also installed safety rails in two locations and realigned a door that wouldn't close. Andrew even came back today to repair an alarm system contact that I thought was damaged during the realignment. It turned out not to be his fault, but he still worked on it for no charge.

Description of Work: Repair stairway landing that had not been properly supported.

Description of Work: Splash (Adrian Andercau) completely re-built my two level staircase in solid oak. This included demolition of old stairs, creating an updated infrastructure to provide stronger support, custom cut and install the risers, braces and steps. This was a rather custom job since the stairs adhered to the old (spiral) design demanding that many of the steps were different sizes. They also replaced the old wood spindles and railings with updated looks.
