Description of Work: They fixed a lock that had been installed/fixed several times by Johnson Lock. The lock is working better than it ever has. I will definitely use them again - hopefully I will not have to call on this lock another time!

Description of Work: They re-keyed a lock and made several copies of the new key. The technician was sick that day so there was a change in the scheduled appointment. The owner came after the shop closed to do the work so that we didn't need to totally reschedule the appointment.

Description of Work: Even though I spent only $4 at Rite Lock, I saved over $100 because this service provider is willing to cut auto transponder keys. He is the only one I know of in the Chicago area-- and I looked around. Everyone else wants you to buy a transponder (chip electronic key needed for all modern vehicles) from them (for $50-150 dollars) before they will cut a key for you. Dealers want even more. I purchased a genuine electronic key for my vehicle on ebay for $15 and Rite Lock cut it for $4. I programed the key (easy)-- and it now works perfectly-- smooth as glass. ALSO-- this locksmith was the ONLY one to respond to my email inquiry through Angies List about whether he could do this service and at what price Bottom line: If you ever need a key cut for your car but the electronic key online and go to this wonderful little shop on the Evanston/Skokie border to have the key actually cut. I asked him about another lock I was considering having switched out to a different kind and instead of trying to get more money out of me he was honest and said the lock I had was actually better.

He had to spend a lot of time figuring out how to get into the chest because the lock could not be removed. The key can't be reproduced so he fixed the chest so the lock wouldn't engage again - but without hurting the aesthetics of the piece.

They came out promptly, within a day of my phone request. The serviceman, Seth, was thorough and courteous. He fixed all the lock problems we had and inquired whether there were any other issues, lock-related that he could help us with.
Description of Work: Replaced locks,o iled locks, re-keyed front and back door locks, troubleshot a stubborn basement door look and made new keys for house locks.
